As for her earlier music, it’s good / great but Grey Area is definitely the album where she really developed her sound and art into something great and fully realized. Chronixx, the reggae singer featured on Wounds, is one of the most relevant and greatest reggae singers of this generation, makes truly great and life giving music on his own. Him and Koffee (her Rapture EP is a legendary blend of hip hop and reggae) are the artists at the front of reggae right now, especially Koffee. All of Michael Kiwanuka’s music is as beautiful and powerful as his feature on Flowers. He makes soul music and his last album KIWANUKA you would love, full of live instrumentation from guitar to piano. Classic and really emotional album with a stunning voice Cant wait to play this new Simz album Last note: with your mention of labels and them wanting women to always be naked, that does exist and is sometimes a problem to be talked about, but for some female artists that’s just a part of who they are and is great too! Nicki, Cardi, Janet, etc. Love when female artists do either, whatever is true to them as long as its true to them. Because i mean we all love to be hot and embrace that. (I know you know that already but just felt like adding to that rant with the positive flip side)

This Album made me a huge fan of Little Simz I still believe this is her best album for me and shows just how great of a songwriter she is I would recommend listening to more UK artists eg Skepta or another example Dave he released a great album that year also called Psychodrama. You mentioned that you loved Inflo’s production, he’s actually produced lots more music with Cleo Sol under the name SAULT. Some of my favourite albums are ‘Untitled (Rise)’ and ‘5’. I’d definitely recommend them if you liked the sound of this and simbi!

The rhyme is the word she says before: fly, live, side, eyes, sky, survive, tides. Its a nitpick but it intensely annoys me when people cant notice the literal previous word is the thing the entire verse is ryhming around.
Wow what a reaction! Still my favourite album this. On 101 FM when you mentioned video game music, Grime beats in the early 2000s were often made on a PS1. Also Grime sets were played on pirate radio stations from the top of flats (block of apartments).. she mentions Kano, who is an OG from that scene. I really recommend his most recent project Hoodies All Summer, the production and storytelling is top tier.

Hey regarding the criticism of lines having the same word at the end, in "Boss" every word before the same word all rhyme well. It's clear in this track its purposeful. Your totally fair point of criticism wouldn't necessarily apply here. Even though I haven't heard that much of her music, it seems Simz is too skilled to not know how to have lines rhymes well.
Bob in defense to people who use the same last word to rhyme as a motif, like 90% of rappers when they do this are normally also rhyming the word (or sometimes words) before the repeating words so in Boss she is rhyming nice, fly, live, eyes, sky etc in a multi syllables rhyme pattern

There's a whole plethera of artists and different sounds in the UK, especially grime, which was the sound which has influenced almost every contemporary UK rapper. It's definitely less well known and a tougher listen, but it's got one of the most interesting sounds out of any music I've ever listened to.

If you look at the lines and take the n word at the end on the first verse of "Boss" it still rhymes anyway. Its more to emphasize each line or keep it flowing. Hes reviewed the new albums from carti , JID, Denzel Curry , Travis , Kanye , etc. Its actually crazy the amount of people he has reviewed who are either direct descendents of thug / inspired by him as well as artists who have worked with him. Its just the logical next step.
