Is a 2017 Chevy Malibu a reliable car?
Scotty - What do u think about Toyota C-HR?
Hello Scotty. I need your advice about buying a jeep commander. I am looking at a 2007 Jeep Commander 4x4 5.7L Hemi. It has 80K miles, one owner truck for 14K. I am not mechanically inclined and me andmy wife got lied to in the past and it cost us major inconvenience and money. I just want to ask your opinion about the reliability of these SUVs and i would appreciate it if you can share your insight. Thank you and more power to your channel.
Scotty could you do a video on the 2019 Honda jazz/fit
Can u help me I wanna know if the volkswagen tiguan 2011 is better then buick encore 2017 which one is better let me know please 😇🙏
My 1978 Honda civic with 590,000 miles still runs perfect. Save tons of money on not having a car payment for over 40 years
but the downside was that you didn't find a lady. or was that the upside?
If they weren’t good for sex they would be a bounty on them
Are used to make fun of people who bought new cars but somebody has to do it so I can buy a used one😂
That's incredible!
the downside is that you have to drive a '78 Civic every day for 40 years. That sounds like a fate I'd pay good money to avoid.

I love Scotty's videos. I seen he said some good cheap cars. So I just got me a 2000 Camry for $1200. So I'm happy I'm disabled and don't have a lot of money to even live on. So took awhile to save up the money. Got 300 miles sadly but they last. So happy not to be stuck at home. When you live 20 miles from town you need a car lol anyway love a real mechanic trying to help people out instead of ripping you off.
Seems like some guys have a longer relationship with their cars than the wives.
True. Cars don't talk back

Something to note about the 2016-2021 civics. The front bumper/grille doesn't protect the A/C condenser from flying bugs and rocks very well, so the condenser gets hit frequently and eventually starts leaking refrigerant, the stuff that keeps your AC blowing cold.
Ultimately, you end up with hot air blowing out of the vents due to a failed condenser, and the symptoms are much worse on the driver side.
Prevention is easy, though. A $4 lock in gutter guard (metal screen) from home depot, trimmed a few inches length-wise, fits perfectly behind the grille and can be held in place with the clips alone.
I drove from Nashville to Chicago and back right after replacing my failed condenser, charging the AC system, and installing the gutter guard. I heard the screen deflect rocks several times during my trip, and I found a dead wasp stuck in one part of the screen after my trip. I am very, very glad I took the 5 minutes of effort to install the screen.
Thank you for this tip
I am not aware of ANY vehicle with a grille that does adequately protect the condenser so the very first thing I've done to every vehicle I've ever owned was installing a chicken wire screen behind the grille. Thought it was so obvious that didn't have to be mentioned. Apparently, it's not...
I have a civic !! During the snow before salt trucks , my AC condenser gotten eaten up so fast ! Thank god there was a nationwide extended warranty on faulty condensers
This is the most helpful thing ever, I'm hoping my condenser isn't failing. The A/C slowly died and I checked the refrigerant level and it was close to empty. Filled it up with a cheap $40.00 can of 1234yf or whatever and it is blowing cold again. Didn't even use the whole can either.

@@hmcmullian4842 Nobody hates you. He may find your actions irrational because your experience with subaru is anything but typical. Lately - like 10-15 years - subaru has been STATISTICALLY garbage in terms of reliability. It does have superior to other AWD capabilities though but if I need to go off-road, I take one of my 4Runners. Otherwise, my AWD RAV4 Hybrid does just fine.
Hi Scotty, I currently have the 2021 Honda CR-V AWD 1.5T and I am happy with my vehicle so far. It handles great in the snow, excellent for daily use, road trips, plenty of space and good gas mileage. In my opinion is a good value for the money. Honda for life Scotty.

Hey Scotty, I’m Dave, I’ve been following for some time. Thank you for being a no nonsense guy. God bless you and your family.
I really miss the S2000. So much fun. I was the S2K technician at the Honda dealership I worked for. Most of the guys there didn't want to bother with them, and then there was me, the one who would run to grab the RO when I saw one pull up, lol. That motor was so gorgeous and truly a marvel of technology for its time. Heck, even by today's standards it's a beautiful piece of engineering.
I even had the pleasure of driving a handful of the S2000 CRs. Not a huge difference between the base and the CR, but its greatest allure for me was the removal hardtop vs a fold in rag-top. The slightly different front bumper, and cute racing wing were aesthetically pleasing, but eh... I could live without them. I believe there was a few more features that made the CR what it was, but it has been a LONG TIME since I worked with one. If the opportunity ever presents itself for me to snag one, I will be on it in a HEARTBEAT.
I even have a copy of the Honda service manual that covers all the years for the S2000. That sucker will be worth a pretty penny down the road (current asking price on eBay ranges $100 - 180+ for the one I have). Then again, maybe I keep it until I have the car to pair it with, lol. We shall see....
I worked at a Honda dealership and my bestfriend that also sold cars there purchased the first S2000. I am 6'3" and could barely fit in the thing. However I was young, dumb, and (maybe) a couple drinks and took that car on the turnpike and got up to 90 pretty quickly until bam! Blown engine. I think I blew out the first one! Lol. Honda flew in guys to look at the engine and they apparently engineered the oil pan to small or they didn't have enough oil. It's been since the early 2000s and my memory, well lucky I remembered that much. You must be aware of the oil delivery problem in the first S2000s. That might have been in 1999 come to think about it. It was a beautiful car. That engine blew twice actually but Honda stood by their product, fixed it with newer designed parts and then gave him a 100,000 mile warranty on the engine. Just wanted to share and hopefully you can clarify what I am saying about the oil problems in the first S2000s
@@JasonFlorida actually yes, I do recall that one. Oil Starvation issues were found on the 1st generation S2000s under heavy load. I can't remember if there was a TSB, but there was a fix they implemented. Wow, I had practically forgotten about that one until you mentioned it, lol. In my region, most of the S2k owners babied them so I never really got a hands-on experience with the repair. The guys that didn't baby their S2k typically didn't come to the dealerships either, lol.
Now that you've triggered that one I did a little hunting (Google, lol) and apparently it was the oil jet bolts (aka Banjo Bolts). That's what they changed. From what I gathered the TSB wasn't really implemented in the US under the pretense that US customers don't typically drive at "Audubon speeds" and thus it wasn't necessary. Yeah, tell that to the myriad of Honda gearheads out there. I'm CERTAIN they'd disagree wholeheartedly 🤣.
Heck, I remember a customer who managed to smash a valve into one of the pistons on an 04 Accord (K24 motor) with only 44k on it (yes, just 1). Automatic transmission. To this day, it still leaves me scratching my head as to HOW they managed to pull that one off. Wasn't my RO, but we all had to stop and marvel at the absurdity of it considering it was generally unheard of in our parts (WNY). The dent it left in the top of cylinder 2 piston was impressive. Not everyday you get to see a 3 year old Honda (at the time) with that kind of engine damage.
A reason I bought my 2016 Accord 2.5 for a reason and opted to not go with a newer Turbo Accord. No turbos, amazing gas mileage, good enough pep, looks good, good room for my family, and absolutely no issues whatsoever since I've had it. Don't have to worry about problems with a turbo or hybridization for years to come.
Thankful I found your videos!! I need to buy a new(used but new to me) car, and after watching all your videos, I’m going to start looking at Honda’s:)
I’m looking to buy as well…🇨🇱

Why do you need so many cars
How’s the reliability of the Acura RDX and what work have you done on it? I’m considering it, but I’m worried about how long it will last (I’d have to buy one with relatively high mileage)

My 1996 Honda Accord has over 500k miles and is still going! The speedometer stopped at 376K and that was 11 years ago! My husband drives it daily. It’s 160 miles round trip 5 days a week. We purchased the car in 1999 for $16k I believe we have got our monies worth. We always laugh because the damn thing looks so bad yeah it still keeps running! It starts up so fast it’s not even funny. We have AAA for the day that it does die and then we will take her to the junkyard. But this particular model apparently is well sought after and we’ve had several people try to buy it from us. So we don’t know if we might put another engine in the damn thing. There’s no rust or dents in it either. I told my husband all the time we should drop a new engine give it a paint job and put some new seats and that would still be cheaper than another car.

I fixed my neighbour's neglected 94 Celica (mostly my money). He offered to sell it to me for $200, but I already had a 98 Honda and 2003 Saturn, so I said I didn't need it.
Maybe I should've bought it.
Probably the best car ever made!
I would absolutely LOVE to daily drive a type R but given my track record of having blown up 2 civics and totaling a 3rd one I will stick with my 13 crv. Don't get the itch to run it hard so much.
Scotty, there is one terrible problem with the newer Civics - the suspension. I came off the highway about 15 mph above the posted limit. Darn near flipped the the car. The front end dove like a fish. But it was leased so I swapped it for an Accord and then then I bought two 2019 Subaru Forrestors - his and hers. My back does not scream when I get into it. Every once in a while I get a note from the dealer - "Get off your duff and get that vehicle in here!" I do. He takes very good care of me.
Good Sunday morning to you Scotty hope you're doing well today, I like how you start slow and smooth, then BAM shift into high gear CLASSIC SCOTTY! 🧰👋🍻👍
John Lennon pushing Hondas. Great cars!
I wish I could have just traded my kia forte in for a Honda civic honestly soon enough hopefully. Great videos as always Scotty 👍
My 1962 Honda Civic has 987,000 miles on it. Still going strong 💪
I love Scotty have watched his videos for many years, have learned a lot from him. He will continue to be my favorite RUclipsr. His love for Japanese vehicles is out of this world that being said I wouldn’t be surprised if his wife was Japanese.
Thank you so much for creating your channel. This is like going to Auto University.
Love you Scotty! Great video 📹
Had a 2013 Civic EX w/ a 1.8L 5 speed auto and the thing kept running smooth past 210,000 miles. Sold it to a friend, but it was otherwise a very reliable vehicle. Would definitely buy Honda again.
ThNks for sharing your knowledge.
Highly appreciated Scotty 2022.Deep insight.
Just bought at 2006 civic ex with 67k miles on it for $5,000. Took a 300 mile trip and still have a fifth of a tank left. AMAZING
I had a 1995 Honda Civic that had over 300k miles until someone stole it from my driveway…it was less maintenance than my Nissan Sentra and Toyota celica. I brought my second Honda 2018 hrv..love it!
The scumbag who stole your car probably wrapped it around a pole and ended up losing their front teeth.
@@Nigel__ , It’s call karma..
It's a great car....
Don't mean to discourage you but if you expect the same from an after-2000 Honda as from a 1995 one, you are up to a major disappointment.
@@nofyfb123 minus NA k series and J series, then you’re right. the acura V6 runs strong to 400k and beyond
my 2nd hand 2000 rav4 with a 5 speed 175000 is still going strong. only paid 2800 out the door 5 years ago. the clutch chatters starting off when pulling a load so it's days are limited but overall it's been a cheap reliable vehicle. i like it's boxy look better than the jazzed up newer ones.
WOW AMAZING VIDEO MY GUY, VERY INFORMATIVE. . . DO A ALL CARS NEXT !
Imagine being in a relationship for 500k miles or more 😆
Now that's a journey!
I love this guy screen name it tricked me
Why is there a New Hampshire plate on the CRV? It may explain Scotty's "Live Free or Die" sign.
Scotty , I've been a committed honda man the past 20 years ,owning 11 hondas and no faults until 2016 civic 1,6 dtec. 3 very expensive sensors failed , now a skoda man
My 03 subie outback has 274.000 runs good shifts good but startin to rust still rides great
Legend says Scotty makes videos which are compatible for the hearing impaired.
I just bought a 2022 Civic and it has the same drivetrain so I assumed it would be good even though it's the first of a new model year. Hopefully my assumption is right.
I've got a 2k S2K, with 65k original miles all stock black/black. I've heard that the 2k S2K was the best 2K made but I love it! I even have the OEM Hardtop for those rainy days. I've also got a 96 Civic LX with 135k original miles, all stock
I used to work at the auto auction. The cars and trucks with the most miles up to 700,000 were the Toyotas, Hondas, Nissans Fords Chevys and GMC mostly older vehicles
I had an 06 civic and loved it. I sold to my nephew it had 270k then he crashed it. Still was runnin great.
I love honda
I’ve got a 08 Honda Civic, no problems ever. Though I hardly have any paint left on it
My 2008 crv with 218k miles had the shaking problem. I just lived with it. Never gave me any troubles just shaking
I have that same exact 2012 Honda CR-V with the same color and everything. It has 75,000 miles and there are no problems with it at all. I love it
it better not have any issues at that milage
75k is nothing I've seen Volkswagens go 600k with zero issiues. Im European though so it was a manual diesel had to be sold to eastern europe because it didn't pas the emissions any more meaning the tax on it would rise.
My mom had a rav4 was a great car she drove it 250, 000 miles with no issues the person who bought its still driving around. She had a crv now and it's roomy and definitely gets up and goes really good. Idk if it'll late as long as the rav4 it's a newer one but both great vehicles shes had little to no issues with her crv either.
Agreed Toyota’s got power especially my grandfathers 2016 Corolla S model, it’s got the 4 banger with the CVT and that thing is a beast it’s been all over the country and it finally hit 100,000 miles and nothing major was done to it and he’s a heavy footer lol goes up mountains better than Honda manuals😂
WOW! That's AWESOME your mom's rav4 still runs great! I bought my very first Toyota in 2015. I bought a rav4 and I LOVE my Toyota! It has a little over 104000 miles on it right now and I am hoping I can get over 300.000 miles on my rav4. Scott is an AWESOME fella who really knows his cars.
My 13 Taco DCSB TRD Off road 4x4 tx has never seen a repair . Fluids, trans flush , diff fluids , serp belt , batteries, tires and pads . Actually I just remembered I did have a part fail, the blower motor got a short in the wire harness . I’m happy with the reliability of the yota. We have 4 Toyota’s in my driveway 🤷🏻♂️
This is the only car make that I consistently see on the road from the 70s! I had a nova! I loved it.
Imagine being in a relationship with a 94 Celica with over 342,000 miles. I marriage made in Heaven.
Scotty's right about Honda. Reliability is such an important feature - I've never even made a warranty claim.
Beside being reliable they have tended to be more fun to drive that many of their competitors. In many ways the sportier choice.
You are lucky. I tried once... and it was my last day with honda.
I tried once @36,200 miles. Never again. I mean never again honda.
Help Scotty, I bought a new Nissan Versa In 2018 made in Mexico! Cheapest new car in the USA. Crank up windows, manual door locks, plain old key ignition, 5 speed manual. What could possibly go wrong?
My other car is a 1993 base model Toyota pickup with 310,000 miles so far. Bought it new for $6995. Great vehicle!
Thank you Thank you Thank you. I've taken my CRV to the mechanic soooo many times to figure out why the car shimmys during acceleration I've been told it's everything from the cv joints to replace the axle. Torque converter. Who knew?
Hondas are reliable cars
Yep they are
I did not know that 😏
Toyota's too 😁

I am so happy Integra is coming back, and with 400Z, it would be just be perfect if there were news for RX-9 and S3000.
The rsx is coming back?
@@Nikolebichon Thats what i read along with the nsx type s news
Hondas I’ve had three , are very reliable . I love them all I’ve also had three Isuzus ,
right up there with the Honda’s .
