That was very well done , I’ve been out the game for about 2 years and I wanted to freshen up on my in cab / airbrake test and this is just how I remember doing it ... thanks sooo much for making this video !!
im from Houston and i take my driving test next month (03/14/2019) i watch this video all the time and i believe that its gonna be a really big help for my in-cab and airbrakes test.
Good job Keith I like the part that you made it clear to do a safe start. You didn't verbally mention to build pressure before you start the brake test but you had the engine running. 3psi straight truck 4psi combination truck. Build up test 85psi-100psi in less than 45 seconds. Don't let me discourage you Mr.Hall just an fyi, keep up the good work. I think it was very nicely done.
You described everything how it’s suppose to be said to the person testing you. Nice and detailed. Was afraid to be asked to show them how to do the test but I think it’s easier than remembering and tried telling them on top of your head. Thanks for the video.
These videos really help ... I have gone twice for my CDL pre trip inspection.... First time my bad failed the break inspection.... Said 3 psi instead of 4 psi .... Second time went into too much detail and ran out of time ... Let me tell you .... It's way different then when I got my license back in the 80's ....
I like how you did the in cab in the very beginning to get it out of the way. That's not how they are teaching us but I would rather do it that way. It shouldn't matter for your exam I just think your way is easier. Thanks for the Video!
I passed my written exam for air brakes and class 3 now i need to do the practical test pre trip and air brake pre trip and take the truck for a spin and ill get the licence hope im gonna be feeling just like you when all said and done.
It is a good video but during air brake pretrip getting one wrong is a auto failure. And tbh if you're going to make a video to try to teach people you should be sure to get it all.
You sir are A BEAST!! Very good and VERY DETAILED!! I have been driving for about 30 yrs...and now I am going into teaching mode-have interview this Wednesday...gonna be a teaching instructor...any advise......!!???
@@1980keb I would assume the life change, I don't do OTR but have my CDL for a local delivery job. The driving aspect of it is pretty easy, even swinging around trailers in the city.
I started driving a Sprinter Van delivering Expedited Freight across the country, Can and Mex and got used to much of what life OTR is like and almost ready to start my CDL training unless I keep making the good $$$ I been making while NOT dealing with ELDs and the many other bullshit regulations and restrictions that most truckers are miserable having to deal with. Plus parking at truckstops is always FREE and far less waiting time at pumps and I can drive 12+ hours if I can safely handle it and NEVER worried about my hours logged and only kept a log for my reference as well as just to be safe, but you can easily fake it to your needs if needed. I made 49K last year and tho I likely had to drive harder and longer and traveled double the yearly miles then most truckers, it was easy as our in the sky followed lastly by a heavy rain of $$$$$ baby!!!! Cha Cha Chinggggg and that's on my grandma people!
Remember these key words for the air brake test: Build, Hold Buzz Pop, Tug Tug Roll. ,Build air pressure, Hold down service brake for leakage test, fan brakes listen for Buzzer, Fan brakes to pop out valves. Tug Tug Roll is self explanatory
When you go to downshift get your rpm's to about 17 then you can downshift. The rpm's have got to be high in order to do it without grinding the gears.
Livonda Williams when you down shift press the clutch, then raise your rpm a lil then put it in gear if you are goin 25 miles per hour u should add 2+5 means you should be in 7th gear
@@josephhollowell672 lol you are joking to get out at 1700 rpm to downshift ... its not shifting !!! There is about 400 rpm between gear so go out at 1300 to go at 1700 and 14 / 16 for hi lo on a 13 /18 speed !
I'm wondering if your state doesn't require for u to call out everything as where your air starts and everything and between every step we required to call out every every psi also oil pressures Temps voltages we gotta call out what number is it on and where it should end up at if that makes any sence
Great video man! I’m in state of New Jersey and the Air brake test u did is the same? What state u located? Need it to practice because soon I’m going for driving test for my CDL. Thankyou
4:00 What state is this for? When you're doing a air leakage test you place the shifter in 1st then you release the 2 valves while holding the service break Before you turn off the truck here in md...That would have instantly have been a fail doing it this way...
It’s there a difference when you do it in dmv ? I’ve seen a video it said 1. Governor cut out 2. Governor cut in 3. Low air pressure warning light 4. Apply brake test 5. Spring brake test 6. Parking brake test It’s that fine doing it like that ? I’m asking because idk 😐
The order is not necessarily set in stone but consult the pretrip chapter in the actual dmv cdl book for your state some vary a little in how its listed in the book depending state and ultimately is down to the dmv tester, however, the way you listed it is a little clunky. I talked about the governor cut in/out along with my gauge checks as well as the pressure build(gemerally should build from 50-90psi within 45sec)Then i said it again before i went into the brake checks just to be sure. Then I went into the brake sequence. Depress clutch Put in gear turn off motor release clutch turn key back to on(no start) release(supply air) to all brakes then do Static air loss, applied air loss, low air warning light/buzzer, emergency brake(tractor protection valve) check(pop out 20-45psi), then safe start and mentioned governer and proper psi again wait until pressure back to operating range. Then checked tractor parking brake. Trailer parking break. And service(rolling) brake check. This is the last sequence I did on in cab. I had already done all other incab(gauges, controls, lights, windshield, etc etc) before i did brakes.
And if you get out of the cab wrong you fail right ? Ive been driving trucks off and on for well over 25 years(farm trucks no cdl) with no accidents but I'm scared they're gonna fail me for some stupid technicality !
Felipe Barron went well worked. Did more in cab than outside. Only tallied about tires and brakes and suspension then went in cab. Finished my 3rd week of work
Passed my class A road test today. You're videos are on point and helped me pass. Thank you
Thanks bro I pass my CDL exam today 10/6/18👍🏽👍🏽

Watched this as a refresher to ensure that I was doing it right. Very well presented, very helpful. Thank you for posting to RUclips.
Crazy, this is exactly how we teach it here in Dodge City, Kansas. Much love brotha 🙌🏽

Thanks for the video brotha. Just started training school at Trainco in OH. About to be watching this religiously!
This was the best uninterrupted video on this. Thanks sir💙💙
Good stuff I'm going in hour in half! Been watching this all night in New Jersey
did u pass, im doing mine soon in nj
Thank You, that was very helpful. I feel more confident in getting my CDL.
People love to tell others when they miss one thing. Screw them man great video

Honestly in any other case I agree, but this test in particular if you miss one thing you fail, so its important man
Hope you say the same thing when a doctor operates on you and misses that one thing that kills you. LOL, you're a clown.
well a brake check is a brake check if you are not going to check all the components then why bother doing one
Música cristi ana. Espanol
Thank you for this, you touched on language I'm adding to my script for the inspection. Blessings
A new sub because you explain everything how it should be. ✌✌ looking to get my cdl test.. Soon
Dont forget to mention your ABS light on your dash.
but my 79 KW. I can't find my ABS light. ??? I guess I could write abs on one of my chicken lights. ?
Yes... you must remember your ABS light....
Any errors in the Air brake test...... automatic FAIL...
GO HOME!!
Wow, one of the best if not the best in cabin test so far...thank you brother man!!!💯👍👍👍☝
Check this one out.. let me know what you think!!!!!

Thanks for making this video brotha I take my state test soon and this the only part I was having trouble on is the air brake test
Great job Keith, very thorough. Be good.....👍👍
Very descriptive nice video. Seeing as many as i can getting ready for my test just passed my written and got my permit
Very helpful thanks,at CRST School now#Replay until I memorize it! See you on the road driver!

Great stuff, looking to change my career to truck driving, wish me luck, customer service call center jobs just don't cut it haha.
@Nathan unknown prolly quit after a month of being OTR just like everyone does hahaaaaaaaaaaa. i dont know why people think trucking is easy money.

This is a good video. In Illinois they make it harder for you to obtain your CDL. Just learned about the double shifting.
Ohio too😒
This honestly one of the best simple ways I'm telling you I'm 2yrs and this is the best simple
Bro you killed this shit…the best video out there. Thanks man
Can you do a video on down shifting and
Alley docking PLEASE
Thanks for posting the video pimping good stuff!!
You explained it so clear thanks
That was great! Thank you so much :)

Great job bro!! I fail my test in November, but I plan on going back soon, I think your video is going to help a lot.
asome video & like how it was well explained
For the Alarm test. Isn’t is on or before 55 PSI the alarm goes off?
Appreciate the vid man!

Hi
Great video and very helpful 👍
Great instruction!
Is this good for GA?
I'm TONY NGUYEN ☺ THANKS FOR YOUR TEACHER.
I like your inspection better then anybody else on here but at what time do you remove the wheel chock ?
After the valves pop out, then u pop out and grab wheel chocks. So you can do the other three tests
I think first you make sure the spring brakes are applied?
Great video bro only thing missing in the pre trip is the trolley break
You did that like a true pro king. Liked and subbed. What are your thoughts on working for CREngland? I'm in their train and pay program.
Great video sir
This is the best air brake test video
Luv it ! Thanks I've just subscribed
You really explained this great
very informative I love video
Nice explanation.....
Nailed the brakes bro. Ty.
Excellent!!!
God joob, красавчик молодец !!!!

good job!
Great video..👍👍
Can do the tug test first and leak test second so you dont have to wait for tanks it fill back up..
That's how I was taught
A must do
Thanks boss 👍
Awesome video thanks boys
If my yellow button doesn’t pop out when I fan my breaks down will it be an automatic fail?
Keep pumping
How you dump air to unhook trailer
So are the brakes taking a break or???
The only thing I see that you forgot to mention was to time from 85 psi to 100psi in 45 seconds or less after the warning light and buzzer went off.
Not every state requires u to say that

4PSI for combination?
Appreciate it

For the in cab pre-trip inspection, I took longer than expected
The in cab and 3 break Air break test is different in Arizona
So good thanks bro
Gud knowledge bro
I'm trying to learn how I'm I don't know what what company go to but I want to learn how to drive a truck
NICE!
