Best Hydrating Toners

  • Here are my favourite toners in general but particularly for the 7 skin method : • 7 Skin Method For Glow...
All the toners featured are good for all skin types. They vary by weight preference, some are thicker while others are thinner but will still not clog pores the way emulsions or moisturizers will. Hydration is something all skin needs regardless of whether you are oily, dry, combo or aging.
Apologies for the focus issues with my camera. I know very little about cameras and just expect them to work on auto, so when something starts going awry, it's hard to pinpoint the problem. Will fix this!

I'd love to see a video more on beginners of skincare; how to establish you routine, introducing products etc. As someone just getting into skincare and slowly introducing products to my skin, I find it slightly overwhelming and quite intimidating with all of the different ingredients, steps and new terms. Would be very appreciated!

The best I've seen is on the Ordinary. The Oridnary is a super cheap, high-quality grade of skin care. It has a chart that lets you find what you're trying to fix and suggests products. If that's a bit confusing, just contact them personally, and be honest. Tell them you're a newbie to skincare. Tell them all about your skin's history, your age, and where your skin is now. The more info they have, the more they can recommend. And, like I said, the ordinary is so cheap, you could probably afford everything they suggest. Good Luck.

I've been using The Ordinary and NIOD for the past 3 months and have definitely seen results. You're so right Jenny. The Ordinary is super inexpensive, but the science behind the products and the quality are second to none. NIOD is more expensive, but again, the innovation, the science, and the quality are second to none.

It is difficult to find comprehensive review regarding aloe products now because it is a very simple ingredient. Majority of the consumers like hard-to-pronounce ingredients lol. I realized this when I was looking for an Innisfree Aloe Revital Soothing Gel review. The brand is pretty popular in skincare but people seems to focus more on their other lines. ALOE VERA in general is under rated. I still love it anyway.

Hi, I hope i'm not too late! I have been using the secret key aloe toner for the past year and I have to say that it is one of the best hydrating toner for its price. It hydrates my skin and makes it very soft and bouncy like how a baby skin would feel. I have sensitive skin and many products that I have tried always results in tightness, redness and itch, but not this product. I already have great skin but this product just push my skin potential to the fullest. Scent wise, it has a very very mild aloe smell that honestly smells really nice and refreshing. Whenever my skin is red and stressed, I would pat one layer of this toner on my skin and right immediately you would be able to see how much the skin cools down. I hope this helps you :)

I've got a lot of product on the way, but so far I've adopted the 7-Skin Method with the Bioderma Hydrabio, added in Biologique Recherche Lotion P50 PIGM 400, and switched to the Erborian Double Mousse cleanser (which is absolutely THE best cleanser I've ever used BTW), and my skin is already responding favourably to the changes.

    • @JenniferFarleyPhotography
      @JenniferFarleyPhotography 7 лет назад +11

Renee's aloe spray is really easy, and it lasts forever. If you go on Amazon, you can find "George's Aloe Vera Spray Mister." 100% aloe, which I use as the base. Remove some of it, add some glycerine and your favorite facial oil (mine is The Ordinary's Rose Hip). It takes some experimenting to find the perfect balance, but it's SO much cheaper and more hydrating for your skin than Fix+. You can get a big refill of George's Aloe, too, which I did. I've barely had to go into it so far.

absolutely! i think skincare comes first, then makeup. if your skin has problems, makeup would make it almost more obvious/or wouldnt help much.. if you have a beautiful healthy base, you dont even need that much makeup! maybe only a bit color on eyes, cheeks and lips, and you are good to go. thats why i love Renee and her reviews!

I can't believe my favorite didn't make the list as it is absolute HEAVEN for dry &/or dehydrated/ thirsty skin!! I HIGHLY recommend Paula's Choice Skin Recovery Toner. It's a milky toner & is incredibly gentle & soothing yet still absorbs & layers very well; I prefer to apply w/ my hands but many also use a cotton pad. It is cruelty-free & vegan, & @ $21 for a 6.4oz a bottle w/ regular additional promotions/ discounts available - including $10 off for any new customer w/ a referral code - it is also quite budget friendly. Even w/ twice-daily use a bottle generally lasts me at least 4-5 months! It is very much a holy grail product for me & I truly cannot recommend it highly enough! (And as a bonus It also works fabulously as the liquid ingredient in many masks!)

Yes! I was hoping you'd make a video like this. I keep reading about the 3-skin method (I think would work better for me) everywhere. I ordered the Whamisa Toner (the regular version) to replace my nearly-empty May Coop Raw Sauce.. I'm excited for it to arrive!

    • @calliopticon
      @calliopticon 7 лет назад +3

I really liked it! It's quite thin and watery and I've almost always used it as a first treatment essence mixed with a drop of my Hada Labo Shirojyun and patted in right after cleansing unless I used an active. It has a very mild herbal smell that I actually enjoyed and I'm not much for any scent. It was definitely hydrating and added some plumpness to my dry, sallow skin type. The reason I'm branching out is pretty much that I'm just curious! It wasn't an insta-HG but I enjoyed it and didn't want to replace it with just anything but the Whamisa is so well loved I thought I'd try. Even the small size of the May Coop has a very heavy glass bottle that makes it feel luxe and I like having it out on my dresser. I would recommend it!

  • @NYandAZ

Renee, you are a lifesaver for me! My 45 year old skin has been completely revamped over the past few years due to (finally) properly looking after it.
I've added a prescription 0.1% Tretinoin (slowly & sparingly starting off at 0.025%), toners, SUNSCREEN!, chemical exfoliants, masks, AHA/BHA's, dual cleansing, and more.
Thank you for so much incredible & educational information on how to keep our skin looking good as we age. I just wish that I would have started sooner, but I truly didn't know about proper skincare as that was not talked about (nor cared about) in my childhood home. We had the shared & cheap bar soap in the shower and that was what I used on my face & body. Looking back at that, I just cringe. I don't use bar soap any longer (makeup brushes only! LOL).
I eve have my own separate product "stash" in the shower that I share only with my husband and he knows that they're all "off limits". Haha. I've tried to get him to do the bare minimum skincare with sunscreen and he flat out refuses. So, when I look 50 when I'm 80 and he looks 85...I'll finally have the "I told you so" moment. He's a chronic golfer, so it's even more important that he uses it on his face, neck and arms. I can't force a gown man, though.
    #Scorpio. (And I'm a Taurus! Hahaha!!)
I do have one big question after this small novel - I'm so sorry for my ramblings. I'm just so grateful for your continued guidance.
Q: I've been seeing the same ingredients pop up in toners and was wondering your thoughts about them: *butylene glycol, carbomer, octyl dodecanol, isohexadecane, dodecane, isoeicosane, octadecane, tetradecane.*
Are these good, bad, or placebo ingredients? They mostly end in -cane & -sane. I have heard conflicting reports about butylene glycol. Isn't cane = sugar? Or does that not apply to skincare? 🤷🏼‍♀️🙈
Some reviews are rave and some are rant.
Can you possibly help shed some light on the -canes/-sanes ingredients, please?
    Thank you!!! 💞❣️🤗

I think I'm going to get my hands on a couple of the new Blithe essences... this one might be a bit heavy, for my skin, but Blithe ALWAYS knocks it out of the park. The splash masks are still one of my grail products!
I'd love to see a new anti-aging favorites video! I'm turning 30 soon, and I'm wanting to incorporate more innovative anti-aging products into my line-up, but so many of them (that I've tried) seem so heavy and leave me a bit oily as the day wears on...
Thanks again! SO many awesome products to try! ❤

I just ordered the Whamsia one and the Blithe Vital treatment. If you sign up for the email you bet 10% off and because it was over $50 I got free shipping. The site also has a cool rewards program. Very thankful I found you and your channel. I have normal to dry skin and at 44 I know the mo moisturized and hydrated my skin it, the healthier and more youthful I look. I already have a good skin care regime but I'm interested to see how the 7 step method will step up my game. I use the Indie Lee coq10 toner now and just ordered the DHC Coq10 one. Looking forward to adding these two in the mix

I am a recent watcher and now diehard fan! My skin has changed and very irritated, red, almost eczema or rosecau symptoms. I usually have combination skin but the last year just really red warm cheeks. So I have binged your videos for 5 straight days taking notes like a nerd and rewatching multiple times. I just splurged on myself with many of your recommended items and really hope to try 7 skin method and pray it helps! I used rosehip oil yesterday for the first time but my skin either is purging or irritated because of it. Just really needing relief because my skin is dry, tight, inflamed, and red with raised bumps. Thank you for your videoss, you have so much knowledge I am just hoping to learn some tricks! Thank you!

I have combination skin and seem to have been having fantastic luck with the Neogen Calendula toner. My face is flawless and although I haven't tried the 7 Skin method yet, it would be a good option. I just ordered the May Coop Raw Sauce to replace my Shiseido essence. I have recommended your channel to all my skin care friends!

Good morning. Love videos like this. So helpful and yours are excellent. Here's a tip from another skin care video on youtube that you might like. It enhances the use of toners in any skin care routine. It has to do with the ORDER in which products are used, rather than which products are used. The order is wash, either double or exfoliate, then dry and put on serums, LET THEM DRY, and THEN spray on your toner and while your face is still wet, apply moisturizers. This helps to seal in the treatments and keep skin hydrated for longer periods of time at a stretch.

I actually tried using Hada Labo for 7 skin methods and it was amazing! I simply used two drops each time. It was just a little bit tacky after several layers but it made my skin plumped and so hydrated! My skin glows all day! ♡
PS. I have very sensitive, combination and acne-prone skin.

I built my skincare routine based on your recommendation and my skin has gone so much better ❤️❤️❤️. I have similar skin type to yours ( combo dry sensitive, a bit oily when in summer) I love pyunkang Yul toner and whamisa toner so much. I took my pyunkang toner to camping a while ago, the place we went was dry and cold this year , normally my skin doesn’t react well to dry windy climate. I layered the toner the night before, followed by Blithe mushroom moisturiser ( another of your recommendation) . Ahh my skin was so plumped and smooth the next day ( we go to this place for camping every year and my skin was always dry because of the ultra dryness) I was so impressed. Thank you so much for sharing all these goodies with us.

Renee I'm so glad you've done this review. I started layering with my MISSHA first treatment but it occurred to me that it might end up being costly as I started seeing it going down quickly. I also have dehydrated oily combination skin (with hormonal acne breakout), so although I need some hydration I prefer it to be lighter so I can layer multiple layers without the tacky feeling. I could only do a couple of layers with the MISSHA first treatment before it started to feel tacky to me, so I wasn't liking that too much. So thank you so much for this review, now I see I do have other options I can add onto my routine.
