    I have been using the TIAM toner since last September and love it but lately my skin has been feeling super tight after getting new skin care products (I recently started using the Azelaic acid serum from Cos de Baha and the artemisia first essence from MISHA, I think these two are contributing to my dryness). I just ordered the isntree hyaluronic toner so hopefully this toner solves some of my issues

  • @lorainemcgillivray77
    @lorainemcgillivray77 Год назад +2

    Hi Kelly I had already ordered the isntree magnesium toner (it's on it's way from Stylevana), but I want it as a rescue remedy anyway. I watched a few reviews about it instantly calming redness and I have rosacea. I've used magnesium in products like the LRP Lipikar and Avene cicalfate, so I'm hopeful it will be ok. I have super dry skin and layer toners, so I'll top it with something super hydrating eg Ti'am vita B5 (I also ordered a back up of that one). I'll let you know how I get on with it. What I have noticed with toners is that those with witch hazel really dehydrate my skin - no matter how many hydrating ingredients they have (my skin just seems to hate witch hazel). Our skin can just be funny sometimes and often have a few quirks. I have tried the Isntree yam milk cleanser and my skin wasn't that fond of it, so that puts me off the toner. I know the HL premium lotion doesn't work for me, but my skin isn't that keen on a load of HA. Best wishes.

      @@BeybladeDbzFan I don't have anything soothing for you in the toner category. I get hormonal breakouts so it's probably a different kind of acne, but I also have rosacea and sensitive skin so I take soothing seriously!
      I've tried a lot of toners from Kelly's suggestions and found that the soothing aspects they provide just aren't enough for my skin. I've given up on soothing toner and just rely on them for hydration. I've tried several cica, heartleaf, and mugwort toners from Kelly's suggestions and had mixed results, some were even irritating for me. I actually like the hada labo premium for hydration a ton, but again it isn't soothing. I did like the be cool soothing toner and the make prem toner, but they're mostly hydration, the soothing effect is extremely mild, but it had a nice mild soothing sensation when applying it.
      For soothing I recommend the following, one very expensive but it really works, and one that's magic:
      1. Niod modulating glucosides serum. This is the magic for soothing, there's nothing else that I've ever found like it. It reduces redness, irritation, and strengthens my skin. It works well for irritation from acne as well. It works immediately and it works long term.
      2. Amorepacific green tea essence. This stuff is ridiculous and I didn't want to believe that it works bc $$$. But it balances oil production and helps reduce appearance of pores, and it soothes and reduces redness and irritation, and feels so refreshing on application. I think Kelly might recommend the isntree green tea toner as a more affordable alternative, even though it isn't quite as effective. Might want to check out some of her videos on that comparison!

    Is there a typical or recommended amount of toners and essences that one would use in one skincare sitting. I have purchased many of the toners and essences based on your recommendation. I don't want to overwhelm my face (which has been acting out), but in order to get all of the well-aging benefits, it might be a number of steps in a routine. How many steps is too many?

    I kind of doubt that it's the magnesium itself that's causing dehydration. The toner has almost no humectants in it which is likely the cause. There is only 0.1% Magnesium Chloride (halve that for the actual magnesium content) in it. That's about as much as in a liter of tap water. Interesting effect on your skin nonetheless and good to know!

    Have u tried the Anu Heartleaf toner yet ? I heard that was amazing and really good for DIY sheet mask too. I kind of want to try the new p.calm fit toner too with tranexamic in it, I have heard great things about it but I really need to buy some hydrating ones those are the ones I'm out of I can't believe I'm finally going threw my stuff. I actually picked up the Tiam panthnol toner I have neglected it for so long cause I have been reaching for my favs and I am more than halfway threw that now and I have had it forever. I am also using the FAB oat toner for my more moisturizing toner the laneige almost feels to heavy for me right now but the FAB oat has been perfect. I think I'm going to go with your recommendation of the Make Prem toner if I don't hunt down the cosrx cica fit one that I love but it is really small feeling but it is on sale on Iherb well it was yesterday. I might just order them together sense they had the make prem to and I should be set for awhile for hydrating toners 🤣 I have been good with not buying a ton of skincare and using what I have besides my Biosionse purchase at marshals I couldn't pass up and I happen to almost be out of the CP serum so it was perfect timing to find that deal.

      I am using the anua 77% heartleaf toner right now. It is pretty watery (while not being the most watery) but I don't find it that hydrating. It's not my favorite and I'm looking to get through the bottle. I'm about half done with it now. It hasn't irritated my sensitive skin, it's just not that great and hasn't helped reduce irritation at all.

      @@oceanbird. awh that sucks if it doesn't help irritated skin atleast if it's not that hydrating. I know Alice in the rabbit hole really likes that one so I thought maybe it was good. I think she uses it for DIY masks .

      @@heathersargent289 I really wanted it to be soothing, but for my skin it just isn't a contender. It isn't bad, I'm going to finish the bottle, but I don't particularly enjoy it and won't buy it again. It's possible that it's one of those things that works great for certain people and others not as much.
      Personally I have very sensitive skin and I don't really find toners soothing. I mostly just use them for hydration and I rely on serums and such for soothing. For a soothing sensation I enjoyed the keep cool and soothe toner and the make prem one that Kelly likes. However these don't provide an actual soothing effect on irritation/acne/etc for me, they just feel nice and hydrate. I also enjoy the hada labo premium lotion for super hydration.

      I don't layer it because it's so thick, really just a little bit goes a long way for me. You might be able to do 2 layers, depending on your skin but it packs a punch so layering might not be necessary.
