If two of my older siblings were still alive, they'd turn 72 and 70 this April (2023), high school grads of 1969 and 1971. I used to watch this show with the younger of the two. The show began in 1969, they were obviously a Junior when it started. :-/
No, it is not. Look at 00:39 It is a 1963 Plymouth Valiant Signet. Note the fender emblem and other distinctive features: www.mecum.com/lots/AZ0320-404250/1963-plymouth-valiant-signet-200-convertible/ This is the (somewhat similar) Rambler American: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rambler_American
i did not like jason in this episode. first, once he gets the girl, he treats his best friend like he doesnt want him any more. and then secondly, he brought all of it on, all by himself. he came into the house with an attitude that would cause any father not to want his daughter to go out with him. then he pulls something, that he was lucky that father didnt give him a shot to the jaw. that father was extremely tolerant in telling jason never to come back. making the father the bad guy and jason the guy that got hurt was a terrible mistake. if they had wanted that story line, they needed a whole new set of facts. cuz what was presented was not at all that.
Far better than a bunch of kids with money now. I worked in University dining halls over 10 years. The kids who had to work were 100 times better than those that didn't entitled assholes.
23:52 I do not know who wrote this terrible script, but Jason is being portrayed as a spoiled brat with no self esteem. He comes into someone's house, disrespects the father, and then walks out with his daughter. Then he has the audacity to get Ritchie to lie for him so he could take advantage of the girl. Pete Dixon should have come down hard on Jason and defended the father, who was rightly concerned about his daughter.
I'm 31 and somehow stumbled upon this show and I'm HOOKED. it is fantastic!
This is a great show, and that's the beautiful Brenda Sykes as Elaine, looking very young at 20.
I'm binging on 222! Thanks for posting. Used to watch as a kid.😁👍
From early child hood my family loved this show. Wholesome. A great way to show changing times.
Mrs. Harris(Lynn Hamilton)also Donna Harris on Sanford & Son.
These are really well done, I like how not everything is tied up neatly at the end. Believable situations, well acted. So happy these are available .
I was a freshman when this show started and a part of a voluntary integration program.
5:52 Check out the smog above the rooftops. Palm trees are visibly choking.
This might sound strange but I love how the main theme music is designed to d sound like a high school orchestra.
Some of the people in this episode were also in the series, Peyton Place.
These kids are in their late 60s now!!!

@Michael Anderson
None the less, thank you for all your hard work fellow union brother.
Mr. Dixon was the best ! Jason was the coolest!
There was no other show like Room 222. Man how it makes you laugh and think! Why only 3 seasons?
I believe there were five. Might check IMDb
The internet says there were 5 seasons, 1969 - 1974.
Ridiculous plot line
It's odd how a boy the parents knew nothing about would allow their daughter to go out with him!!
I noticed the same Hi Fi as The football player had as well as the same Living room.
Very cute show
I dig your vibe. ✌🏿

I agree... he was disrespectful in attitude. No compassion or understanding for her dads role as a parent.
An illustration (in sepia) of that eras "Generation Gap"
Treva Silverman also wrote for MTM show, and tortured storylines are not uncommon.
Came from an impoverished family possibly never taught him much not part of his life. So he is behaving from his experience.

The dude not wearing the glasses looks like fifty cent older brother, amazing !
😎 Don't drink coffee ✊🏿

Jason wasn't very polite should have introduced himself and shook hands with the father st the front door.
That fit his character and set up the tension. You are right but if he was all nice, the episode would not have worked...
Fiendish.
was ritchie the role model for erkal
Yeah he was the original urkel!
Jason could not act ...
Not sure how he lasted on this show for years
@Chainsawslots...That was part of his appeal. He was a former black panther given an acting role. He did well considering he hadnt been an actor
