6 cents we pay 25 with no off peek . Yet the rest of the state pays 13 off peek. Plus buy your a charger etc.. So the dam state should not tax us, to even thing out.

That is a pretty big difference. It will be interesting to see how things evolve, I'm assuming our rates will go up as demand increases.

The trouble with electric cars is the load it is putting on the grid. It will cause the nuclear power plant to make more waste and some states still have coal power plant will also cause more pollution. Even if 30% of owner have electric cars we would see power outage across the country. California already sees outages.

The grid definitely needs to be upgraded along with additional power generation.
I am optimistic that the utilities see the increased demand and will upgrade accordingly. Unfortunately we never do things ahead of time. I believe most of the country will be ok…California is not a good example.
It’s very similar to the massive grid and generation upgrades that had to be done for refrigeration and air conditioning. No one lived in the southwest until that happened.
Humans are capable of incredible things if motivated and corruption is kept at bay.

Then again, if we were forward thinking, we'd have solar panels and battery storage pre-wired into our households. What are we going to do when, at some point it becomes obvious that we have, say... 17 years worth of fossil fuels left, world-wide and we have no real investment in the necessary infrastructure needed to replace internal combustion power sources??

@@jeffwells8740 Absolutely correct. Some people's emotional response to an EV is that they don't want to be reliant on the grid. I always counter that with saying they can generate their own electricity...not many options to make your own gasoline, diesel, or hydrogen at home. Well, you can make hydrogen but then you have to compress it and store it... without blowing up.

@@jeffwells8740 Spot on,...Especially the younger you are. But I can't understand why all rest stops, swimming pools, EV'S don't have Solar? Man like look at Florida all houses have pools and Air conditioning, but few have Solar. bite the bullet and F the utility
