- In this video I go through the history if sky blocks in terraria and come up with a world that (from what I've found) is the most limited so far. I explain how this world came to be. I also talk about what comes next since we have already found the most bare minimum sky block map.

This is great! I feel like the music is a tad to loud however which makes it hard to hear you talk
Next: for some little factoids as I go. The power cell is awkward to put in the map because you need a chest or frame. You can replace it with a single forbidden lihzahrd brick wall IF the world is set to FTW+Remix secret seeds. For 0 reason, that combination removes the block check for spawning temple mobs. However, then you deal with the strange limit of having no way to buy purification powder. The irony is that shimmer fixes this and removes the need for the mud, but as you'd see in Shimmering Skies, you still need blocks to hold the shimmer itself, making it require more than the minimalist map you've shown. My personal policy in skyblock minimalism is that items > the sum of their ingredients. IE: dirt bomb > 25 dirt + bomb. And the less uses a block has, the less it's worth. Otherwise the minimum would be a chest on 1 block (any) with a shimmer bucket, and the temple altar and wall in it, and that's just the semantics of a 1 item difference with yours anyway.

Good video! It's cool to see the progression from having a small island to expand upon all the way down to pure, concentrated pain. Personally I couldn't get slime rain slimes to drop any presents, but after moving my spawn left and up I got some from harpies, which is infinitely less tedious.
I was genuinely surprised on how small this channel is for the quality, if I had to give any tips, maybe lower the music a bit? didn't bother me too much but the music and your voice are at like the same volume which can make it kinda hard to hear at times
Wait, how do you get the cultists to spawn?
if you start in Party world secret seed, you can get jungle mimics to spawn that spew out tons of blocks. one of these blocks is mud, so you can actually start with only 1 mud block instead of 2
I have an idea, make the most limited Terraria map that can 100%-ed in journey mode, aka research every item. The primary goal is to include as few items in item frames and storage furniture, then limit everything else, otherwise the smallest world is considered to be just an all item world. This is something I've thought about a lot. You could try the same thing with achievements too.

Finally. Accuracy and research. Solid video. I'll be making comments as I watch through. History: the first skyblock I was made aware of was Fencedin's Skyblock Mod in 2016. The map had to be downloaded separately. It predated some of the vital fishing loot and the convenience of gem trees and dirt bombs. It involved accessory recipes with dyes. Heavy extractinator use, and plants that dropped hardmode ores. The first to get popular was CrabBar's Terra Caelum. It was more minimalistic than my later Bare Minimum, but it was never fully finished and quite painful. The Steam workshop is full of copycats of that map, including the incompletable Jungle Temple setup. SkyTerra by Zapdosguy29 was the first to be vanilla and good/fun. For my maps: Bare Minimum was my theory on the smallest but still had the concession of renewable dirt and stone, intentionally. Even then it was never really meant to be played normally. Brutal Skyblock favors features and fun over minimalism. Shimmering Skies is the actual minimum without sacrificing sanity (but with like 2 extra blocks and a pity torch). Logan's map's difference is the sacrifice of mediumcore making it so 0 blocks are technically required as long as the shimmer is contained.
The merchant sells furnace in the jungle that was added in recent updates because one of the secret seeds(most likely not the bees) did not provide any stone. So as long as you can artificiate a jungle its possible
With more knowledge than I had 7 months ago I have re-done my one block & no starting items challenge, this time on expert mode instead of journey and with the 1 block being leaf instead of sandstone, which has absolutely no use whatsoever. Now it doesn't matter what the block is as long as you can stand on it. Theoretically it would even be possible with thin ice or a cracked dungeon brick but uhhh I'd rather not. The run
They’re adding a Sky Block secret seed in 1.4.5, and adding some new features to make that easier and less grindy so that’s good news for the skyblock community
One block of grass with a tree on it 3 lizhard bricks with the altar an evil block and a jungle dirt block all scattered around the map
You can get Bloody Tears from brides and grooms in a graveyard, even at 100 HP. This doesn't give you much, but it does give you clown weapons.
