    Is there any vitamins that can help with the prevention of glaucoma?

    • @coolunusual
      @coolunusual 2 года назад

      I'm no professional but glaucoma seems more like something that could more attributed to a deficiency of a vitamin rather than being able to prevent it with more intake. I would try more lifestyle changes if you are more at risk or are already dealing with it along with whatever a doctor might prescribe. Take care

    You did a great job on the Q&A style video. Question: Do you have any advice for the nomad community about getting eye care, eye care products, and prescription items like glasses & contacts? Another way to look at it is how can you get eye care on the road? Nomads are usually traveling a lot in their RV's (Seasonal or Full-time) and may or may not have a home base that they occasionally spend time at.

    You may want to make a video showing what people with different degrees of nearsightedness, farsightness, astingmatism, etc. see compared to a normal person. A video about equipment you use and what it does---I'd be interested in what it costs also. Any general advice about seeing a doctor who works alone or see one of several doctors that work together in same practice (maybe more doctors means better equipment or equipment too expensive for a single doctor shop). Do doctors still use ultraviolet light---in 1969 or so I got a piece of sand in my eye in a cave and didn't realize it---doctor used ultraviolet light to check for damage (had a tiny little crater, wore eyepatch for a little while and healed up fine). Give tips and hints about how to avoid common eye injuries, etc. Put a pointer on each page to an index of all your videos---number them so other eye care professionals can tell their clients go to this web page and watch, for example, videos 5, 6, and 17.

    • @DoctorEyeHealth
      @DoctorEyeHealth  4 года назад

      Oh...honestly I don't know of anything natural for that condition. Don't rub the eyes - that will make it worse, contact lenses often give the best vision for keratoconus.

    I used to use a 4K 39" diagonal computer monitor 22 inches away. I put a music keyboard in front of the monitor and now use a 4K 55" monitor 33 inches away. Should people get new computer glasses lenses if distance to the screen changes that much? I use fonts around 1.2 times as big on the new monitor, use the computer 9 hours a day, and don't get headaches, eye strain, etc.

    • @DoctorEyeHealth
      @DoctorEyeHealth  4 года назад

      If the glasses were specifically set for 22 inches away, then perhaps a new pair would be better. But if you are asymptomatic at the new distance then it may not be necessary.

      If it is a mild case of dry eyes or a more moderate case that also relieves medical treatment, then perhaps it can be managed with good nutrition and proper blink rate. Dry eye is very complex. • @DoctorEyeHealth
      @DoctorEyeHealth  4 года назад

      True dry eye disease is pretty complex, ultimately the loss of tearfilm homeostasis leads to a vicious inflammatory cycle that can even damage the eyes. For some people, lifestyle changes are enough to improve it where medications and eye drops are not needed, but for many people the symptoms go unnoticed for many years as the damage is slowly being done. I think for many people it can be "managed" but not necessarily cured.

    I'm 16 and I have floaters, think I have had them for a couple of years, they're pretty annoying when you think about them or when it's (1) bright, (2) you think about them, and (3) your trying to drive.
    0/10 would not recommend 👎

    Hey Doc. I've been having episcleritis for 6 months now and my doctor says there is no cure for it and I that I got to deal with it. I've been doing warm compresses, using artificial tears and sleeping more to keep inflammation down. Its only in my right eye. He's putting me on NSAID eye drops to use in the long-term to help me deal with this issue. Do you think its safe to use those drops in the long term? He says the drops are given to post surgery treatment for catarac surgery patients. Thank you.

      I often try a short term topical steroid for my episcleritis patients with a slow taper, topical NSAIDS are safer as long as they are not overused - as they can cause corneal melt in extreme cases. Episcleritis can also be associated with systemic conditions (although many times it is just idiopathic). I hope things get better for you.

      @@DoctorEyeHealth The issues with my eyes are affecting my life so severely to the point that I don't look forward to trying to sleep at night. The color pattern in my eyes completely changed, the tops of the eyes where the color begins has become a stirred up blur, spots and floaters, developed an astigmatism in both eyes, went from 20/20 in both eyes to 20/40 & 20/45, dark red veins has completely covered up the whites of my eyes 360 degrees around my eyes and grow in to the color in the center of the eye, the oil glands no longer produce oil and the tear ducts are no longer working properly. Preservative free eye drops no longer work for more than a minute let alone react properly with the surfaces of my eyes. I have practically no night vision anymore. This has all happened between May of last year and now, and my 'retinal specialist' doctor has no idea about what to do and doesn't even care about finding out any of the what, when, why or hows of my eye issues and their causes. I'm just another paycheck to her. I've thought about a lawsuit but I don't have the time, health or money for that. It could be SIBO, toxins, insulin, rapid weight loss and a month long juice fast and screwed up refeeding that caused it all I don't know.. but please reach out doctor and help me if you can before I give up.. I'm only 28 and hate living now

      @@Cycle4Life12 I would suggest going to a world class eye Institute closest to you. I believe they are better than the regular clinic ophthalmologist. They might be pricey but for your issue I would say it's worth it. I live in South Florida so there is one here. I'm not sure about your area.

      @@Cycle4Life12 what I do is go to google and look for ophthalmologists in my area and I look at their reviews online. Then call in office to get a consultation price. I suggest you do this to find a reputable eye doctor. If you live in a rural area in NC, then consider maybe going to an urban area as most reputable doctors tend to be in these areas. I wish you luck man.

    Hi, Do you think any vitamin supplements would help me? I have KC just had a baby and Dr. Said I could experience some changes in how good I can see due to the collagen lost when baby passed through birth canal and of course you know corneas are made of collagen, that is a transplant that I am talking about.
