This is amazing to watch; Fr. Mark-Mary and Matt Fradd have been extremely helpful in welcoming me back to the Church. They don’t know it but we’re best friends in my head. Thank God for their testimonies!
I was a cradle catholic who told people I loved my faith, but went to mass when once in a while and my life was in the gutter. I randomly put on Father Ames’ video on what to sacrifice this lent on Ash Wednesday 2023 and it changed my life. Not sure why. Now my seventh kid is on the way, we homeschool, and have not missed Holy Mass since. I can not thank this man enough.
Fr Mark- Mary. You played a really huge part in my conversion and the podcast with the other priests as well. Thank you for being a light ❤️ I’m currently discerning the priesthood as well. Please pray for me
Faithful Catholics are the cool kids because we know God loves us; we are cheerful, we dread the loss of heaven and pains of hell and most of all because we know that God is deserving of all our love and goodness even when we are wretched compared to God's holy standard! Saint Benedict, pray for us especially the lukewarm Catholics and "Biden" Catholics who embrace the evil agenda of Democratic Party! Monday, July 11, 2023

I intended to fall asleep with this interview playing in the background(I lowered the volume, and laid down for bed)...just a couple minutes in and I am glued to it! Same thing happened with the Christopher West interview. These interviews are great, you're great and the people you have on are great! God bless you, and all of us listeners!
I love the really long ‘chats’. I listen at work and don’t have to find another one as often! New moms prayer time- I used to just softly sing prayers for my babies while rocking/ feeding them. Hail Marys, Our Fathers, Glory Bes and Guardian angel prayers.
Matt, you talked about the darkness at the end of your talk today. I hear it, and it resonates with me. I prefer you being real. The struggle is real for me as well. Thank you, I don't feel quite as lonesome on this end. I'll keep you in my prayers.
Of all the podcasts, this is among those that feels like we got to listen in on a very comfortable, relaxed conversation between friends about the faith. So enjoyable.
That was a very cool talk. I realise I really need to listen to normal, good spirited people, who struggle with many things I encounter yet still have some light and find joy in life. Poco a poco... God bless you!
I feel the same. Good people talking well is a blessing and if you can find a group like that, it's better than say, a rich group, or a powerful group or even a fun group.
Great long interview, Fr Pine's ears are burning. @Pints With Aquinas would be great to see a Benedictine on sometime. All these new orders are great and all that, but now let's see the black habits 😎
What a great interview! Love Fr. Mark Mary and the Franciscan Friars of the renewal . I watch his videos on Ascencion and Paco E Paco. They’re not just amazing religious but they are also fun to listen to. Such incredible joy in their dedication.
Fabulous interview. Been watching Fr. Mark-Mary for quite some time now, and of course, Pints With Aquinas, as well. I learn so much about my Catholic faith from these You-Tube videos. Thank you so much!
Love your talk on technology. It inspired me to pick up my "Apostolic Farming" book again by Catherine Doherty. I do still think technology can be an excellent tool, I'm very glad to have the tech that we do. But I want to be engaged with life, not constantly looking to be distracted from life.
All these apps are made to be addictive. Also God made us social creatures so it is very easy for us to become addicted to anything that is socially compelling. The nature of social media (inc RUclips) is IT NEVER ENDS. There is ALWAYS something else to watch, read, play, check, respond to. I have decided to get a flip phone and try and rid myself of my internet addiction. Like Matt I need to just leave all screens in the office of my home (glad he has a office away from his home). We need to be relating IRL. Thanks for this especially Fr.
At around 1:20 there is the subject of work and rest. There is a great book by a Catholic author called "Getting Work Right" that talks about this and also the difference between leisure and amusement, for a deeper dive on this.
Wow! Within about 10 minutes I had 3 new books ordered on Amazon and found another mass I want to attend (Father Parks at St. Theresa as I live in Phoenix). Thank you!
I have been to Combermere Canada. It was only for a couple of days. Catherine de Huck Doherty was a Russian Catholic. She and her first husband escaped from Russia during the revolution. Reading her story is worth the time.
Thanks for getting real at the end of this video Matt, about your insecurity and being tired of putting on a show, and sharing about your hard times after moving house. Your authenticity is touching. It's not easy doing what you do. Thank you
Love both these guys. I'm a regular listener of both. Got father's new book, and have been listening to Poco a Poco and I'm ready to rock and roll! I'm also a secular Capuchin Franciscan
I’ll be buying this book for so many people! I’m so drawn to your lifestyle.. but am older with grown kids. Always wanted to start a ‘eco community’ with a spiritual bend! And have single parents and older people with a community building for meals and garden and chickens... Maybe I need to move down to texas?!! (I have an architectural background)...
This was such a wonderful and down-to-earth conversation! This channel continues to help me grow in my Catholic faith and understanding. God bless both of you! Thank you for what you do!
hey first time viewer. I am from OC. Joined a Franciscan Catholic Church in OC and loved it. Have moved farther away from that chuch but still live in OC. Would love to have another Franciscan churches nearby

Hello Matt. As a Lay Dominican and a Patreon supporter I wanted to clarify a misconception about the Lay Dominican order. We are a part of the Dominican order and have Chapters around the world. Our pillars are prayer, study, community and apostolate. We have a Spiritual assistant, usually a Dominican friar or sister. Perhaps you could speak with someone directly for more information. Great interview and discussion with Fr. Mark Mary. Blessings
So funny. I turn my phone off completely on Fri afternoon until Monday midday...and people do not like it!! I cannot stand feeling like I have no escape even in my own surroundings.
What is comes to vocations BOTH sides must feel God is calling that individual. The Community discerns as much as the person hoping to join an Order. It wouldn't make sense that every person who approaches a religious order has a vocation, some clearly won't for various reasons. Many future saints were turned away or had some years in novitiate and were unable to take vows, who later went on to find their true calling in other Order or another walk of life. Just as I received a couple of offers of marriage before meeting my husband and now we are celebrating 25 years together. We have to discern God's will and His will is working on both sides of a relationship.
I love this interviewer, seen him go a few. t's more conversation and each compliments each other, the interviewer fills in the gaps for those that may not understand or gives a different context to summ up the discussion. What's his name?
@Pints With Aquinas have you heard of the Rosary Confraternity? Not a third order but anyone can enroll and is a no-brainer if you already pray a daily Rosary. I think ticks a few of your boxes on what you were describing at the end.
Hi Matt. I like your content and your interviews. I have this problem with my smart phone. I began to be addicted with rom coms be it turkish, korean, chinese, russian, hallmark. I learned a lot of culture of these countries from these movies. I started with catholic religious content then when i discovered these movies i became addicted to them. And now I'm trying to limit it. But not with much success. I cant totally get rid of my cellphone because that is how I communicate with my ministry in church via my messenger account. I stopped looking at facebook. I dont have instagram or twitter account. I dont even check my email every day. I do it occasionaly. I used to read books before i discovered youtube. I used to buy a new book, mostly religiious with catholic content but the choice is very limited here in the Philippines. I dont even have a book by GK Chesterton. I only have Confessions by St Augustine, have 2 books by Scott Hahn. I have a book by St. Pope John Paul II, by Pope Benedict VI, by Pope Francis, and others. Also books by St Jose Maria Escriva of Opus Dei. But I have this nagging thought that I shall be held accountable for a lot of things that I know, so the less i know, the better.
I found "A Work of God - Images of Renewal (Franciscan Friars of the Renewal)" on the Vianney Vocations website. I purchased Father Mark Mary's book on Amazon.
Wonderful for you to expose your brokenness by jokingly saying, "I want to smoke pot and listen to Radiohead". Everyone on this journey has their moments, yet we continue on the path. You expressed a more hip way of communicating what many of the greatest saints have said including Mother Theresa, Saint Therese and in some ways Christ in the garden.
Bit late on this, but the Third order secular Fanciscans are a large group that is quite alive and well. I've been meeting with my local group for a while now. It's not a simple social group, you do take professions and if you want to leave or join another group, you have to get a disposition to do so. O.F.S. is the lettering you'll see after peoples names.
This is amazing to watch; Fr. Mark-Mary and Matt Fradd have been extremely helpful in welcoming me back to the Church. They don’t know it but we’re best friends in my head. Thank God for their testimonies!

Father Mark-Mary (representing the Cool Kids of faithful Catholics) in the house! Thanks for having him on!

I like how Matt kept interjecting silliness in the beginning of the interview and Father Mark Mary plowed on with his conversion story
very down to earth podcast a great joy to listen to Matt

I was somewhat expecting Matt is Lay Dominican himself. Seems not,but it is never too late ;) Greetings from a Lay Dominican in Prague, Czech Republic
I think what the Priest was referring to is how it used to be called a third order before Vatican 2 whereas now they are referred to as Lay Dominicans
I'm a Lay Dominican also.❤️
A hour in and I wish I could hear fr mark Mary talk more, this holy man. Would love to have Matt fradd pick his brain more
