I made these and they feel more like a good chocolate cakey brownie than chewy brownies. I think I’ll make the adjustments of using all purpose flour than cake flour. They were good, but a bit too fluffy for me.
That’s actually what the egg does (that’s why it says on the boxes of brownie mixes to increase by one egg if you want it cakey). Just remove one egg and keep the rest the same and see. :)
your problem isnt the flour here, its the cooking time, considering the thickness i would reccomand a very maximum cooking time of 13-14 minutes, even less. Baking time Its truly the key of brownies. forgive my english im french. Hope i helped

Salt is a flavour enhancer, especially where chocolate is used, I’d think that it would certainly add to the product.
