Don Knotts was a comedy genius! Most people know and love him as Barney Fife from The Andy Griffith Show, but I will always remember him best as Mr. Furley from Three's Company! (Bursts into apartment with a blowtorch to cut Jack & Chrissy's handcuffs) "Ok, I'm here to cut the... (sees cop standing there) ROAST BEEF!" haha!
Mine too! "Handcuffed!" When Jack is at the table while Chrissy is underneath and they're trying to eat the cake... OMG, one of the funniest scenes EVER!
I love how the only way I can wake my 3 year old up in the morning is to play the daily woo. as soon as he hears your intro Adam he's awake and out of bed watching with me. he also does a great impression of your intro. lol thanks for another great vlog!! can't wait until tomorrow's. have a fantastic day!!!!
I really enjoyed today's vlog! The Ghost of Mr. Chicken is my favorite movie of Dons. Statue was the best tribute to an actor I've ever witnessed. Well done and thought out...
Hi Adam! Thanks for visiting Morgantown. Not only do I live here, but I also work at the Morgantown History Museum that you attempted to visit (sorry we were closed; we even have an exhibit dedicated to Don Knotts that I'm sure you would've liked). We don't allow photography because people have come in before, taken high-quality photos of some of our own pictures & artifacts, then tried to sell those photos as their own. However, I probably would've let you film inside since I know who you are on here. Also, yes parking here sucks, and the hills are ridiculously steep...sorry about that! Anyways, that's all I wanted to say. Best wishes and come back soon!
I also follow/watch Adam! I am from Clarksburg, West Virginia. I also do travel videos across the US. I always try to make WV a destination for tourism. Right now, the hot topic is Fallout 76. I am trying to showcase WV real life locations to the game. Morgantown is on my agenda, tomorrow. (asked to do Popcon in Mylan for some publicity figure do some extra video of what I know of the area from growing up as well). Later on I would love to reach out for additional information/guidance to do a video for Don Knotts sometime. We recently went down to Mt. Airy. It was a great experience, I would love to help make WV, especially Morgantown, the ultimate stop for Don Knotts.
LOL ! I was like 11 when the movie came out so I did know what Bon Ami was.....just a good ole' funny movie......how about every so often someone saying, "Atta boy Luther"
Hello Adam, The company that I work for was also founded in Morgantown. It's call Gabriel Brothers, the newer logo would say Gabe's. Well save travels. Hope you make it to Mansfield, Ohio again where I am from.
A friend of mine in Atlanta (Peachtree City) has repainted several of the old the murals for Coke. Corporate has an archive of every single mural they've ever painted, it's geographic location and the archive of the original artwork, accessible for her to copy. She gets somewhere in the $2-5k range to go on-location for a pressure wash, prime and repaint, usually by local request. They generally last 10-15 years or so.
Don Knotts ....undoubtedly one of he finest comedians of his time. One of his finest performances was his cameo in 'It's a mad, mad,(etc) World" where he & Phil Silvers just played off each other to perfection. As you said Adam "Thanks for all those laughs, Don"
Been a Don Knotts fan for many years.. sorry about those narrow scary streets LOL.. the town was beautiful thank you for another awesome vlog, Adam..😎 God bless you and Keep On Keepin On
I first saw Don in The Incredible Mr. Limpet. As a kid, I loved that movie. Then, I saw The Ghost and Mr. Chicken, which is ultimately how I enjoy my memories of Don.
I love Don Knotts too. My favorite movie he did was The Ghost and Mr. Chicken. Thank you for doing a video on Don! I really liked it. Stay safe out there, Adam!!!!
Don Knotts was a very friendly man and took time to make you feel important when he spoke to you. He use to own a couple of dinner theaters in the Kansas City area. The first one was around the corner from my old house and i would see him around from time to time.
Awesome video as usual!!! I always like Don Knotts too. And btw in case you didn't know, anytime you drive down a steep or any long incline you have to always put your transmission in 1st gear before you go down the hill, so you don't speed up and lose control. That's what 1st gear is for. Also while in 1st keep on the brakes when you start to speed up.
I was working for Crockett Shell, 44th and University, San Diego when I was introduced to Woodrow Knotts, Don's nephew. We worked together there all summer long '74. I remember his acquaintance fondly, Woody!
Almost Heaven. West Virginia...Blue Ridge Mountains, Shenandoah river. Good Morning Adam! Beautiful country you're in this morning! Don Knotts always made me want to feed him something! He was a frail looking man, but evidently pretty tough to do all that climbing! I wonder if the Warner ever played The Ghost and Mr. Chicken? That was my favorite Don Knotts movie of all time! Have fun Adam, and keep on keeping on!
My son was blind and Don performed and hung out with the kids from Junior Foundation for the Blind in LA. He was wonderful with all of them and it was one of the favorite memories of my son.
I can't believe I just missed the Woo.... er... Adam! We were in Morgantown Sunday (Hotel Morgan) and passed the Arc and sopeed at Sideling Rock on Monday. So close to greatness!
I love Don Knotts I had a chance to meet him years ago in Alabama had to miss out . One of my biggest life regrets and I have known many many people with fantastic lives!
missed you again. you came through my hometown. I meet don knotts once back in the early 80s I was invited to dinner and he was there. I went to school with his great nephew. he was very quite but when he said something it was funny. the warner theater was one of my favorite places when I was a kid it has been for sale for years. not only did don knots stay at the hotel Morgan so did Johnnie Mathis quite a few times. parking definitely is tough down town with an RV. Hope I catch you the next time you are here.
Hilary Peddigree, yes; bad roads, but great spots for exploration. Like Concrete City in Nanticoke, PA and the Knoebel's Amusement park and campground for amusement park enjoyment.
Welcome to PA!!!! You should check out Easton,Pa because we have a abandoned Dixie cup factory and bushkill park. Safe travels Adam and see you around!!!
I remember the first time ever going through Morgantown, it was about 10 years ago, and at the time did not know it was Don Knotts' home town. We went through it at night and I thought it was just about the craziest place to get around in that I had ever been in. Then when I found out it was his hometown, I thought, how appropriate. LoL. I loved Don Knotts he was truly one of the greatest entertainers ever!
And let's not forget "The Incredible Mr. Limpit," which I saw as a child at a theater in a Saturday matine when it first came out. I can still see the experience well.
Adam. I want to thank you very much for not using fowl language. That is one reason I keep watching. I don't recommend content, but I tell everyone about TheDailyWoo. Keep up the high level of professionalism.
Thanks for the vid Adam. I spent 4 years at wvu and never knew about the don knotts connection. If you think those streets are crazy try driving em with snow. I burned up a transmission in my car trying to get up one. Have fun in Pittsburgh.
My neighbor was his child hood play mate and shared many stories and about them climbing trees to hide from the bullies that gave them both a hard time.
Sorry to hear that Large Marge had trouble going up the steep hills, hope she is okay. Morgantown roads are a bit of a challenge to navigate through. And apologizes for the parking problems.
Don's mother's boarding house was on Beechurst Av. downtown that runs along the river. It was raised to build office space for WVU, His mother moved from there to 732 Louisa Av, In Morgantown and lived there until her death. Don's Mother and Father both and two of his brothers are buried at Beverly Hills Cemetary just out side of Morgantown on Rt 19,

My favorite character that Don Knotts incorporated into Mr. Chicken, Barney Fife and Mr. Ferley was his 1950's nervous man D.D. Morrison.
This video was done so well, really enjoyed the scenic views and perspectives.
I wish, I wish I was a fish... One of my fav movies, The incredible Mr. Limpet..

According to the 10/23/16 Washington Times , that is correct (The Ghost and Mr. Chicken)
I was working for Crockett Shell, 44th and University, San Diego when I was introduced to Woodrow Knotts, Don's nephew. We worked together there all summer long '74. I remember his acquaintance fondly, Woody!

Lovely part of the world.
Sorry about the roads.
Hilary Peddigree, yes; bad roads, but great spots for exploration. Like Concrete City in Nanticoke, PA and the Knoebel's Amusement park and campground for amusement park enjoyment.

A VW bus or a smaller RV like a class B
