Not only that, but I'm very fickle when it comes to fragrances - I'll immediately fall in love with something, love it for a week or so, then decide I'm not crazy about it, and have to declutter it immediately. Me too! I keep them in case there is an occasion i will wear them. I did decluttered perfumes because it felt disorganized and i wanna make place for new ones, and then smell the perfume on someone else and i felt in love all over again and regretted getting rid of it.
Did you ever think about decanting a perfume before selling it when you feel like maybe you will come back to it and change your mind? I think a decant is a good idea, because you will have enough of the perfume for sniffing or testing whenever you feel like it and maybe you will be more confident with buying a new bottle if you feel so.

No worries! I do the exact same thing with wigs (I have a wig review channel and have been wearing wigs for four years due to androgenic alopecia that began in my 20's-I'm now 65). We spend $$ learning what we like, what works best for us and even when we find that, we may branch out to try new things and eventually go back to square one. Such is life! I only began with fragrance this year, a natural extension to wearing makeup again for my channel, I feel (though it would be nice to have smell-o-vision!) and have purchased more than I think I should, but I want more, still finding my footing with scent. Being very thrifty-I have a frugal living/homesteading channel that has been around for almost 10 years now- I don't own any high end or nice fragrances other than samples. I have mostly affordable ones and dupes. I have a Poison Girl dupe from La Rive and love it. Appreciate your channel! ~Cynthia

I've heard so many minimalists say it was far better for them to not hoard things "just in case", even if they had to replace the odd item here and there. I've switched that mindset and its so true. It confirms what you brought into your home was really worth it.

I think that’s the thing with BR 540. If you’ve never wear the original, you’ll most likely be very satisfied with the dupes/inspired one. But once you’ve smell and wear the original, nothing else comes even close. The original just have the perfect ingredients and perfect ratio of each ingredients that makes it 👌🏻

Sometimes when I declutter a perfume, I decant myself a 10ml spray vial. That way if I have regrets I’m able to revisit it and wear it for a while before deciding to repurchase.

I'm definitely not here to judge - to me your impulsivity is very relatable! I've done exactly the same thing - buying, decluttering, then buying again when hearing someone praising it, then decluttering it again, overanalyzing my collection, developing all kinds of rules of how my collection should look like, etc :D been there, done that! Now I'm really trying to let go of the idea of a "perfect" perfume collection as I feel no such thing even exists, pursuing it just causes this buy-declutter -cycle IMO.

Diptyque: I was never a vanilla scent kind of girl. But I came across Eau Duelle, and I fell head over heels in love. Always getting compliments. So I decided to chase that vanilla scent. I’ve tried many others from different brands expensive and cheap, and I can say that no other vanilla scent comes close to Eau Duelle. Actually this is how I came across your channel, looking for other vanilla recommendations. This is for sure my signature scent, going on my 3rd bottle. You have to try the intense version. Also, try 34 intense and Benjoin Boheme eau de parfum. Byredo: Gypsy water is a classic! Also my favorite. Try, bal dafrique, Blanche and 1995 if you haven’t already. I started wearing these scents because I didn’t want to smell like anyone else. When people ask me what I’m wearing, they don’t even know the brands and I love it. I stopped wearing RB 540 bc now everyone has a similar version and I can smell that 10 miles away lol. I will continue to stick with Byredo, diptyque and Jo Malone bc they truly make unique scents. I keep chasing other scents to find something similar but it just doesn’t work out. Oh well, this is part of the adventure. Happy shopping I say!!!

I tried gypsy water a few years ago when I was a lot younger and disliked it so I gave it to my mum, ironically she got another small bottle of it and gave it to me to try a weeks ago and I absolutely loved it that I bought the full size a week later, I do wish the performance was better especially for the price, I also love flower head from byredo but only have had the hair perfume of it, not the perfume but I’d like to pick that one up at some point, Donna is also one of my favourites and I actually way prefer it to born in Roma, it’s your collection and you should be allowed to swap things in and out as you please, so don’t let anyone say otherwise :)

So funny that this video came up for me today! Last night I had trouble sleeping and I spritzed myself with a perfume that I thought I HATED (don’t ask me why), and was thinking I was even going to return it. Well, I had an absolutely positive reaction to the scent this time instead. And I’m not talking years here where your tastes can change over time… it was only a couple weeks that had gone by! I was so shocked that my feelings in it had changed that quickly. So don’t feel bad about changing your mind. I think it can probably happen to all of us. I just never realized before now that it could happen so quickly!

Good video! Have you considered ordering samples of fragrances you want to try before you purchase the full size bottle? A lot of people have mixed feelings about BR 540. It happens. I've heard some reviewers say they took a break from wearing it for a while then started back wearing it.
I also feel like samples from the company or decants can be helpful, but I notice (especially for the more natural or refined smelling fragrances) that the strength isn't the same bc of the smaller spray volume. Full size bottle sprayers almost always give a better impression of the overall fragrance experience. Does that make sense?

'Don't be too hard on yourself' is often easier said than done. You have to be a special person working in healthcare. Thus, typically more empathetic. So it is important that you do self-care and be cautious about negativity. Personally, I thank you for taking time to do videos. Taking time to edit and create content is not easy. As for the fragrances, if you think you would like woodsy perfume, you should try a decant of Encre Noire. It smells like a wet woodsy forest with the dry leaves on the forest ground. It is very earthy, dark, and dry woods on its own. But if you layer a sugar sweet scent on top, it layers nicely. Keep up the good work, stay healthy and be safe. We love our nurses! 💐

I would suggest putting the bottle away for 6 months. If you miss it in that time, bring it back for a short period. Then put it away again for 3 months. If you miss it a second time, then you know you love the scent. Absence can make the heart grow fonder. Good luck.

Scents I like and then grow to dislike change consistently with the seasons. Things I don’t like the smell of but once did, turn from hate to love and go right back again. Can’t do coconut and floral scents in winter, can’t do heavy gourmands and spices in summer, etc. So I can relate.
I try not to declutter unless the fragrance gives me a headache makes me feel sick etc. I usually throw them in a drawer and hold them there for months. Every single time I fall back in love with them lol

I’m sampling Bal d’Afrique & Mojave Ghost from Byredo right now and the first just smells like soap/fresh laundry on me 😭 I don’t love Mojave Ghost upon first spray but after about ten minutes, it is so intoxicating! I need to try Gypsy Water! I live in WA state and I felt like I could close my eyes and smell exactly what you described. Heaven. Also now need to smell Eau Duelle! 💗
My only issue with BR is that it's so recognizable...I like a little mystery in my fragrance. But it does smell like you sleep on money, it's a nice fragrance. 👌
Why does no one talk about Pure Poison? I have been wearing it since it first came out, and I have never heard it mentioned. It is my signature scent. I love it
I 100% prefer Tinhare by Perfume Le Couvent to BR540. They smell incredibly similar, but Tinhare is sweeter and I can’t detect the “dentist office” vibe in that one. Plus, it is a fraction of the price. But, unfortunately, like you’ve mentioned before as well, the scent (of either) disappears very quickly for me.
What about buying perfume samples or small decants? I know that they are not as ascetically pleasing as purchasing a bottle, but it can help the overall cost. If you use the entire sample then you know it’s full bottle worthy ☺️.
Great review. No explanations needed. I love Byredos Sundazed and Mahave ghost. I've always love designer department store fragrances. I've just dipped my toe in luxury fragrances. I have such a love and appreciation for!! I will getting the full size Mohave Ghost for my birthday!! I do have my limits ie Tom Ford waaay to expensive.
I don‘t understand, why you are decluttering BR450 and then bring it back in full 75ml (mentioning, that it might be because you don‘t have the opportunity to smell it some time). Just purchase a smaller bottle 🤔
Where do you have this information about ambergris in BR540 from? I think that if baccarat rouge had real ambergris in it it would cost much much much more. This perfume is called molecule perfume because of heavy dose of ambroxan in it. There are so many articles about it edit: quote from the interview with FK: There’s a synthetic oakmoss, veltol and Ambroxan and hedione.
I live 4-5 hours away from any stores where I could try most higher end fragrances. I’m only commenting in case you don’t know, there are places you can order samples from if you don’t want to blind buy full bottles all the time.
Thank you for sharing your thoughts, feelings, and being honest. I blind bought Cloud and thought I would love it. I didn't. The scent even stuck around the shirt I was wearing when I had it on after I washed it. It just didn't work on my skin so I really don't think I would revisit it. Fragrances are so personal & I would rarely blind buy ever again. I absolutely have to test it on my skin because my skin is picky AF or be okay with the loss & not invest too much in blind buys. Our tastes evolve & change. It's ok to change our minds. Also, I hope people would take away from this that maybe don't just go out & buy a fragrance based on a recommendation. See if you can sample it in store or find a decant website to test it on your skin before pulling the trigger. That way, you can find out for yourself if the scent works for you. Recommendations help me narrow down selections & give those a try first and it's very helpful to focus on those in the sea of perfumes out there. Thank you for posting! I enjoy your content 😊
Very interesting. I just purchased br540 yesterday, Totally worth the money, I think the 75 ml is the smallest bottle,at least that’s the smallest at Bloomingdale’s. I’ve been enjoying your videos, at least replacing decluttered perfumes is cheaper than replacing decluttered handbags

I am so glad about you bringing Valentino Donna back. And I can totally relate to your situation. I had sold it after I got it and immediately regretted it. So I brought it back in my collection. Although on me is the opposite. It's a beautiful, feminin, classy and bold scent. Strangely, I cannot spray it to much on me. I did it once and wish I had sprayed less. I guess it was to hot that day. But I will keep it because I love it so much. I am trying to find the O.G. of Poison Girl but I only find the EDT and the Unexpected. Where did you buy yours? Everyone has a right to change one's mind. My mind changes all the time about the perfumes in my collection. Sometimes I am surprised how I find some of my old ones and love them again, even though I abandoned them before.

No judgement here. Rebought/redecluttered Mugler Angel Muse 3 times😄. 💯 agree about BR540. Got decant first. Not impressed. Weeks went by & here I am two 2oz bottles & one 5oz later. 💸 I’ve got Amber Oud Rouge, Cloud Intense, Oakcha Sweven. They’re good but all are missing that X factor contained in BR540. Will eat less, buy my clothes at thrift stores just to always have it in my collection. Fraghead priorities. 😄
I have been spraying Clean Reserve's "Skin" on myself and my pillow every night! In the morning I can smell the praline on the pillow. Yum! Gypsy Water is a favorite of my husband and I.

If you like powdery try Serge Lutens Clair De Musc. I thought I loved powdery but this is *intense* coty airspun powdery smell. ETA: I'm wearing it now and I'm wishing it had a touch of rose or something to make it less cloying.

The preference for fragrance is like a rollercoaster. I am always fastidious and unconventional in terms of fragrances, and I always care about the performance and intensity despite scents that I really like and love. Speaking of decluttering, realising that I cannot have it all, having a few fragrances at home is much better for me because I can easily reach for what's at home. To be honest, we are all different and just enjoy fragrances whatever we wish. Who cares what others think?
Byredo's Gypsy Water and Clean's Reserve Skin Blend are two of my favorites. two that you might also like: Diptyque's eau Rose and Penhaligon's Cousin Flora (wait a couple hours for the dry down for each). Both Diptyque and Penhaligon's have many great ones (not cheap though), especially directly on skin + time. The development is more important for me than the top notes.
I purchased the Baccarat Rouge 540 body oil. I put it on the ends of my hair (my hair is long) and on my arms. The scent lasts a long time, and it is less costly at the outset. (It will empty more quickly, of course.) The oil is in a spray, like the perfume.
Perfume is like food, we wouldn't want to eat the same thing every day we want to enjoy them. I think not wearing the same thing every day helps me enjoy what I have more. Tastes can change. Some things are enjoyable in different seasons and different temperatures. I think if there is one thing you can keep and rotate it is your perfume. I won't judge.
Love Eau Duelle. I had the EDP version. My first niche. Ran out last year. Diptyque prices have gone up since I started into niche. Maybe I’ll test the EDT. I’ve never replaced a bottle after emptying. The only one I would replace when empty is Lana by Santa Maria Novella or Relique d’Amour by Oriza Le Grande. I don’t like Bacarat Rouge very much. Never bought. My last trip to Miami was awesome because of all the amazing shops with perfume I can’t get my nose on where I live. Highlight was the Santa Maria Novella shop.
No shame in changing your mind! Everything from our hormones, being sick, amount of perfume, whether it’s on skin or clothing, etc., can play into how we experience a fragrance. I’ve had days where some scents give me awful headaches, then other days where they don’t. I honestly don’t regret many of my declutters, though I do regret not selling some of them. Hopefully those shopping at Goodwill were happy! 🤣

I only began with fragrance this year, a natural extension to wearing makeup again for my channel, I feel (though it would be nice to have smell-o-vision!) and have purchased more than I think I should, but I want more, still finding my footing with scent. Being very thrifty-I have a frugal living/homesteading channel that has been around for almost 10 years now- I don't own any high end or nice fragrances other than samples. I've heard so many minimalists say it was far better for them to not hoard things "just in case", even if they had to replace the odd item here and there. I've switched that mindset and its so true. It confirms what you brought into your home was really worth it.

I think that’s the thing with BR 540. If you’ve never wear the original, you’ll most likely be very satisfied with the dupes/inspired one. But once you’ve smell and wear the original, nothing else comes even close. The original just have the perfect ingredients and perfect ratio of each ingredients that makes it 👌🏻
Not me. I actually prefer the dupe. As much as br 540 is a masterpiece, it's too strong and headache inducing

Sometimes when I declutter a perfume, I decant myself a 10ml spray vial. That way if I have regrets I’m able to revisit it and wear it for a while before deciding to repurchase.

I'm definitely not here to judge - to me your impulsivity is very relatable! I've done exactly the same thing - buying, decluttering, then buying again when hearing someone praising it, then decluttering it again, overanalyzing my collection, developing all kinds of rules of how my collection should look like, etc :D been there, done that! Now I'm really trying to let go of the idea of a "perfect" perfume collection as I feel no such thing even exists, pursuing it just causes this buy-declutter -cycle IMO.

I was never a vanilla scent kind of girl. But I came across Eau Duelle, and I fell head over heels in love. Always getting compliments. So I decided to chase that vanilla scent. I’ve tried many others from different brands expensive and cheap, and I can say that no other vanilla scent comes close to Eau Duelle. Actually this is how I came across your channel, looking for other vanilla recommendations. This is for sure my signature scent, going on my 3rd bottle. You have to try the intense version. Also, try 34 intense and Benjoin Boheme eau de parfum.

Gypsy water is a classic! Also my favorite. Try, bal dafrique, Blanche and 1995 if you haven’t already.
I started wearing these scents because I didn’t want to smell like anyone else. When people ask me what I’m wearing, they don’t even know the brands and I love it. I stopped wearing RB 540 bc now everyone has a similar version and I can smell that 10 miles away lol.
I will continue to stick with Byredo, diptyque and Jo Malone bc they truly make unique scents. I keep chasing other scents to find something similar but it just doesn’t work out. Oh well, this is part of the adventure. Happy shopping I say!!!
Don't let anyone criticize you for doing what you feel you need to do! I have decluttered fragrances and then repurchased them, too. It's OK. We're women. We're allowed to change our minds!!!!
I tried gypsy water a few years ago when I was a lot younger and disliked it so I gave it to my mum, ironically she got another small bottle of it and gave it to me to try a weeks ago and I absolutely loved it that I bought the full size a week later, I do wish the performance was better especially for the price, I also love flower head from byredo but only have had the hair perfume of it, not the perfume but I’d like to pick that one up at some point, Donna is also one of my favourites and I actually way prefer it to born in Roma, it’s your collection and you should be allowed to swap things in and out as you please, so don’t let anyone say otherwise :)

So funny that this video came up for me today! Last night I had trouble sleeping and I spritzed myself with a perfume that I thought I HATED (don’t ask me why), and was thinking I was even going to return it. Well, I had an absolutely positive reaction to the scent this time instead. And I’m not talking years here where your tastes can change over time… it was only a couple weeks that had gone by! I was so shocked that my feelings in it had changed that quickly.
So don’t feel bad about changing your mind. I think it can probably happen to all of us. I just never realized before now that it could happen so quickly!
No matter how much people will judge you, do what you like and be happy, we are human we all make all kinds of mistakes! I love MFK 540 Extrait, also love Oud Silk Mood, they both are Sooooo beautiful and addictive!

I am trying to be more like you and let stuff go instead of keeping it just in case. I think repurchasing a few bottles is much better than keeping everything. Good video! Have you considered ordering samples of fragrances you want to try before you purchase the full size bottle? A lot of people have mixed feelings about BR 540. It happens. I've heard some reviewers say they took a break from wearing it for a while then started back wearing it.
Yes but again it can be hard or really expensive to get a bunch of samples, depending. But yes I definitely do try to get samples when possible 😊

I also feel like samples from the company or decants can be helpful, but I notice (especially for the more natural or refined smelling fragrances) that the strength isn't the same bc of the smaller spray volume. Full size bottle sprayers almost always give a better impression of the overall fragrance experience. Does that make sense?

'Don't be too hard on yourself' is often easier said than done. You have to be a special person working in healthcare. Thus, typically more empathetic. So it is important that you do self-care and be cautious about negativity. Personally, I thank you for taking time to do videos. Taking time to edit and create content is not easy. As for the fragrances, if you think you would like woodsy perfume, you should try a decant of Encre Noire. It smells like a wet woodsy forest with the dry leaves on the forest ground. It is very earthy, dark, and dry woods on its own. But if you layer a sugar sweet scent on top, it layers nicely. Keep up the good work, stay healthy and be safe. We love our nurses! 💐
No judgement here! People change their minds about things all the time. The haters included. I'm slow to declutter anything, but yes, I completely agree that sometimes one gets bored with a scent, and then 6 months later it's magical again. I'm rediscovering my Michael Kors Wonderlust EDT. :)

I would suggest putting the bottle away for 6 months. If you miss it in that time, bring it back for a short period. Then put it away again for 3 months. If you miss it a second time, then you know you love the scent. Absence can make the heart grow fonder. Good luck.
I bought Baccarat Rouge blind because RUclips hyped it up so much. And who knew ? I LOVE it !!! The fir resin note is just wonderful !!! I do not blame you for repurchasing at all !!!
Scents I like and then grow to dislike change consistently with the seasons. Things I don’t like the smell of but once did, turn from hate to love and go right back again. Can’t do coconut and floral scents in winter, can’t do heavy gourmands and spices in summer, etc. So I can relate.
I try not to declutter unless the fragrance gives me a headache makes me feel sick etc. I usually throw them in a drawer and hold them there for months. Every single time I fall back in love with them lol

I’m sampling Bal d’Afrique & Mojave Ghost from Byredo right now and the first just smells like soap/fresh laundry on me 😭 I don’t love Mojave Ghost upon first spray but after about ten minutes, it is so intoxicating! I need to try Gypsy Water! I live in WA state and I felt like I could close my eyes and smell exactly what you described. Heaven. Also now need to smell Eau Duelle! 💗
My only issue with BR is that it's so recognizable...I like a little mystery in my fragrance. But it does smell like you sleep on money, it's a nice fragrance. 👌

I 100% prefer Tinhare by Perfume Le Couvent to BR540. They smell incredibly similar, but Tinhare is sweeter and I can’t detect the “dentist office” vibe in that one. Plus, it is a fraction of the price. But, unfortunately, like you’ve mentioned before as well, the scent (of either) disappears very quickly for me.
I adore Tinhare too. The sweetness has a touch of a mango candy vibe that I love. I to wish it lasted longer though.
What about buying perfume samples or small decants? I know that they are not as ascetically pleasing as purchasing a bottle, but it can help the overall cost. If you use the entire sample then you know it’s full bottle worthy ☺️.

Great review. No explanations needed. I love Byredos Sundazed and Mahave ghost. I've always love designer department store fragrances. I've just dipped my toe in luxury fragrances. I have such a love and appreciation for!! I will getting the full size Mohave Ghost for my birthday!! I do have my limits ie Tom Ford waaay to expensive.
I don‘t understand, why you are decluttering BR450 and then bring it back in full 75ml (mentioning, that it might be because you don‘t have the opportunity to smell it some time). Just purchase a smaller bottle 🤔

Where do you have this information about ambergris in BR540 from? I think that if baccarat rouge had real ambergris in it it would cost much much much more. This perfume is called molecule perfume because of heavy dose of
ambroxan in it. There are so many articles about it edit: quote from the interview with FK: There’s a synthetic oakmoss, veltol and Ambroxan and hedione.
I live 4-5 hours away from any stores where I could try most higher end fragrances. I’m only commenting in case you don’t know, there are places you can order samples from if you don’t want to blind buy full bottles all the time.
Thank you for sharing your thoughts, feelings, and being honest. I blind bought Cloud and thought I would love it. I didn't. The scent even stuck around the shirt I was wearing when I had it on after I washed it. It just didn't work on my skin so I really don't think I would revisit it.
Fragrances are so personal & I would rarely blind buy ever again. I absolutely have to test it on my skin because my skin is picky AF or be okay with the loss & not invest too much in blind buys.
Our tastes evolve & change. It's ok to change our minds. Also, I hope people would take away from this that maybe don't just go out & buy a fragrance based on a recommendation. See if you can sample it in store or find a decant website to test it on your skin before pulling the trigger. That way, you can find out for yourself if the scent works for you. Recommendations help me narrow down selections & give those a try first and it's very helpful to focus on those in the sea of perfumes out there.

Although on me is the opposite. It's a beautiful, feminin, classy and bold scent. Strangely, I cannot spray it to much on me. I did it once and wish I had sprayed less. Everyone has a right to change one's mind. My mind changes all the time about the perfumes in my collection. Sometimes I am surprised how I find some of my old ones and love them again, even though I abandoned them before.

No judgement here. Rebought/redecluttered Mugler Angel Muse 3 times😄. 💯 agree about BR540. Got decant first. Not impressed. Weeks went by & here I am two 2oz bottles & one 5oz later. 💸 I’ve got Amber Oud Rouge, Cloud Intense, Oakcha Sweven. They’re good but all are missing that X factor contained in BR540. Will eat less, buy my clothes at thrift stores just to always have it in my collection. Fraghead priorities. 😄
I have been spraying Clean Reserve's "Skin" on myself and my pillow every night! In the morning I can smell the praline on the pillow. Yum! Gypsy Water is a favorite of my husband and I.
They say that Tinhare is the best dupe for BR also cruelty free, vegan and without Ambroxan (which sucks).

If you like powdery try Serge Lutens Clair De Musc. I thought I loved powdery but this is *intense* coty airspun powdery smell.

The preference for fragrance is like a rollercoaster. I am always fastidious and unconventional in terms of fragrances, and I always care about the performance and intensity despite scents that I really like and love.
Speaking of decluttering, realising that I cannot have it all, having a few fragrances at home is much better for me because I can easily reach for what's at home.
To be honest, we are all different and just enjoy fragrances whatever we wish. Who cares what others think?

Byredo's Gypsy Water and Clean's Reserve Skin Blend are two of my favorites. two that you might also like: Diptyque's eau Rose and Penhaligon's Cousin Flora (wait a couple hours for the dry down for each). Both Diptyque and Penhaligon's have many great ones (not cheap though), especially directly on skin + time. The development is more important for me than the top notes.

I purchased the Baccarat Rouge 540 body oil. I put it on the ends of my hair (my hair is long) and on my arms. The scent lasts a long time, and it is less costly at the outset. (It will empty more quickly, of course.) The oil is in a spray, like the perfume.
Love Gypsy Water, but it took me awhile to like it. My favorite is Mojave Ghost by far.
Perfume is like food, we wouldn't want to eat the same thing every day we want to enjoy them. I think not wearing the same thing every day helps me enjoy what I have more. Tastes can change. Some things are enjoyable in different seasons and different temperatures. I think if there is one thing you can keep and rotate it is your perfume. I won't judge.

Love Eau Duelle. I had the EDP version. My first niche. Ran out last year. Diptyque prices have gone up since I started into niche. Maybe I’ll test the EDT. I’ve never replaced a bottle after emptying. The only one I would replace when empty is Lana by Santa Maria Novella or Relique d’Amour by Oriza Le Grande. I don’t like Bacarat Rouge very much. Never bought. My last trip to Miami was awesome because of all the amazing shops with perfume I can’t get my nose on where I live. Highlight was the Santa Maria Novella shop.
No shame in changing your mind! Everything from our hormones, being sick, amount of perfume, whether it’s on skin or clothing, etc., can play into how we experience a fragrance. I’ve had days where some scents give me awful headaches, then other days where they don’t. I honestly don’t regret many of my declutters, though I do regret not selling some of them. Hopefully those shopping at Goodwill were happy! 🤣

I'm the opposite of you, I live in a major city with several department stores in area and everyone has Baccarat and you smell it everywhere. I like the scent but got rid of it because I got tired of smelling it.
