- You may have witnessed a situation in which a caregiver was getting overly angry, frustrated, threatening or even beginning to hit, slap or otherwise hurt a child, as seen in this video. Find out how you can help in a situation like this by visiting luriechildrens.org/stopabuse.
Problem is... As an abused kid, I can assure you parents never do this in public places. Everyone thinks you're perfectly normal outside, even spoiled; the behind closed doors it's the opposite. That's how they isolate you, and it's the worst feeling ever.
Edit: Alright, some parents do it in public apparently. In my country they don't because it could be reported as child abuse.

I was in a Target store and saw a similar situation. I reported it immediately
You did the right thing. Such a great hero.
I was waiting for a bus outside a supermarket when I saw a woman hit her daughter after the daughter dropped her coat. I remember going into the store to report it but I don't think anything happened. Nowadays I would just call 911 or tell the bus driver
Good for you! And I mean that in a sincere way.
A few years ago when I was working at Macy's I saw a little girl about five years old or so crying (I didn't know the reason). Her mom screamed at her "if you don't shut up right now I'm going to fuck you up real good!" I wish that I would've at least called security. I regret not doing anything.

If I witnessed a child being abused like that, I’d call the police and record the abuse for evidence
I'm filming it putting online so that everyone will dislike the guy. Men like this don't deserve to be fathers. There're guys that actually want to be a father who would be a far better father but can't even get a date.
record is the 3rd step
stop him on 2nd
Even when I stopped being abused, my parents still did it outside and inside which really least a lot of my self worth of my self and even when my parents weren’t around me I put on a fake smile to make people smile and say nothing wrong. Even tho everything is.
i know this is a serious issue and all, but what kinda ketchup bottle breaks that easily?

He should go to jail for that if he abused his child

I once witnessed a situation like this at a McDonald's, I reported it to one of the employees and they got kicked out. Remember that abuse is never the right thing. Instead, focus on ths positive things that will help the situation. I know nobody will read this comment, but I'm only commenting because i want to be one of the people to stop child abuse.
Any mom who stands by and watch there child get abused ashame on u
All of my sympathy on the boy and none of it on his father.
The father over react. Sometimes my dad would over react.
As a Physically, Mentally and Emotionally Abused Child, This video hits home completely because this is how my father would act in public if he got mad at me or my sister. Both of us were Beaten mercifully as kids growing up.
We were always having to watch what we said, We did, how we acted in public or we were vengefully Beaten by our dad. I would never allow another child to go through the Hell on Earth I suffered through as a Child nor would I put up with witnessing something like this happening
I hope he got arrested and held accountable
@coleallen3895 no my father never faced the legal system. He kept everything as far as the Abuse behind closed doors but he's already crossed to the other side and God is handling Business as far as my Father's Punishment goes. I'm sure that he's in a Worse place than he could ever dream of being here on earth
@ you deserve all the hugs in the world cuz you did not deserve any of that
@coleallen3895 Thank you...
It took me getting into a Fight with my dad to get him to back off and stop the Abuse.
I DO NOT hit my daughter or scream or Argue with my Wife over anything.
Now that I have a Baby in the way that's due in June of 2025. I'm doing my best NOT to be like my father and abuse my kids
@ your father should be banned from having any interaction or relationship with your kids - and if he refuses to respect that, get a restraining order against him if you haven’t already
Kids who are physically abused by their parents would miss their parents funerals when the time would come to get even with them O.K!!!!!
Yeah, I'm sure most would. My mom was abused by her mom. i remember as a teenager watching this movie about Abraham Lincoln where he didn't even show to his father funeral. I was thinking I wonder if my mom would do that to her mom when she dies, probably would. Of course, 8 years later her mom did die and she showed up to her funeral. I'm bless that my mom didn't take after her mom because if she did, I think I would have ghosted the whole family. Difference between kids getting abused and the mom (sometimes dad hey it happens) getting abused, the kids never even picked that parent to be their parent in the first place. If a woman shows any signs of being abusive I'm not marrying her and definitely not having kids. It's my reasonability to find a good woman for the mother of my children.
What’s even worse is that he has embarrassed his child in front of the people.
the dad embarrassed himself too

That ain’t funny. And that meme was ages ago.
That was an accident I would hate to see what this dad dose when his son actually dose something bad on purpose. Pretty sure when the kid grows up he'll probably leave his father, never visiting or calling him.
Joy Berry’s Alerting Kids To The Danger Zones book about abuse & neglect explains the difference between normal discipline & physical & emotional abuse, & it explains why some adults are abusive. Maybe that abusive father didn’t know much about kids, or maybe he expected his son to act like an adult, or maybe he was frustrated, or maybe he was abused when he was a kid. No matter what the reason, what he did was just plain wrong.
It's like that man immediately lost his sh!t
As an father. I will never to this my child.
Me too. I’ll never to this
don't you it when you do not do your child?

Well this also happened to me many times since the early 1980s. Looks like the dad needs anger management, psychiatric treatment, and rehab or else someone must call Child Care Services.

This has happened to me. My dad was a jerk.
When I had just turned 6 years old we went to a Texas BBQ restaurant and the the cafeteria worker asked me what I wanted. I said "ribs" because my mother had already said I could have them, and because at that age I thought when an adult (restaurant worker or otherwise) asked a question that I had to answer. (I was startled that he asked me instead of my parents, which was a mistake on his part.)
My dad instantly flew off the handle, and he was sincerely angry that I didn't ask for something cheaper, despite the fact that I hadn't even learned to read menus yet and had no idea how much it cost. I was hurt not that I couldn't have ribs, but that he was so sincerely angry when I wasn't trying to cause any trouble. There is also something primal from pre-human evolution about having food yanked away from you, particularly if it happens just as you're about to get it after your mouth has been watering for it all the way to the restaurant, so I involuntarily started crying. I explained truthfully without yelling or anything that mom had already said I could have them, and he accused me of lying without even asking her. He said I was throwing a fit, which I certainly wasn't, because crying was embarrassing and certainly involuntary by that age. The main problem with my dad was not that he couldn't control his temper, but that he would completely lose his shit over nothing at all, convinced I had done something terrible because of his strange hyper-critical delusions. It is a bit like those anorexics who die of starvation, all the time thinking they are overweight.
The people working there got upset at my dad's behavior and brought me some ribs on the house, without realizing that this was exactly the wrong thing to do: My parents blamed me for the scene and embarrassed me mercilessly about it and said everyone was looking, and which made it hard to eat them. We never went out to that restaurant again, which was unfortunate. It was right near my Dad's workplace, and I wonder if he was too embarrassed to go there again with the guys from work.
The truth is that now when I see a parent snapping at a kid over nothing in a restaurant or shop I have a very strong urge to go Arnold Schwarzenegger kindergarten cop on them, but I restrain myself. I wonder if I've learned this anger response from my dad, but there is nothing that gets me more steamed than seeing an adult abusing a small kid over nothing.
i was in tears watching this😭😭
My dad would react this way over mistakes & common kid stuff like drawing on the walls... I still love him, I don't blame him, at a young age I started realizing that he just doesn't think like other normal adults would. He doesn't mean it, his brain just unfortunately works differently.
The chad kid standing up to the abusive parent: "It seems that you do not know who your talking to right now so let me clue you in. I am not in danger of you, dad. I AM the danger. A guy walks into the room, opens the door, and gets shot, and you think that of me? Nah son. I am the one who knocks!
if i was the kid actor i would really start crying because im very sensitive to screaming
in all seriousness, there are good samaritan laws in place that protect people who intervene in cases like this. stand up people

I didn't receive much physical abuse from my father but psychological. He used to mention how disappointed he felt as a father about me for not liking the hobbies he liked. He all the time compared to me with other kids who'ss fathers were proud of them. I remember he used to say, "I envy those parents because they did have good luck by having cool sons". He used to call me "f..... homosexual", because I didn't want to practice soccer, his favorite sport. Now I'm a professional in Biology and Botany, and I still don't practice soccer. I'm not interested. He's now over 80, sick, and lives alone after mistreating and divorcing my mother. I don't talk to him. I don't know if i'm doing right or wrong. I'd appreciate any positive comment from you, people. Thank you.
