I was facing knee replacement in my mid 50's. Went the stem cell route 7 years ago and my knee is still feeling great.

Hi, my mom is getting the same surgery at Pantai tomorrow. She’s 78 so she might not get the same results but keeping our fingers crossed. Thanks for all the feedback, couldn’t have done it without you.

Thank you for sharing, I supposed to go for knee replacement operation tomorrow but I postponed it due to my ankle fractured in January. After the injury I have been thinking for other treatment such as stem-cell. I am due to meet with the stem-cell specialist in UKM SC in April. I hope that I will receive similar result like yours.

the thing is, for US$10,000.00, that's about the cost for a total knee replacement which barring any unforeseen development may last 10-20 years or more. If it was that stem cell therapy can last 5 years or thereabout at a cost of US$10k, would it not be more cost effective with a total knee replacement ? Not disputing the efficacy of stem cell treatment for the knee which I have been told to have been in practice for quite sometime in Malaysia or that it is much less invasive and painful compared to a TKR. Very pleased though that you are happy with the results. Keep well. 👍

Yes, you're right. Your math logic shows that stem cell is more expensive over time. The $10k was for surgery that repaired the shape of my worn down knee and stem cells, or $7.5k plus $2.5k for the stem cells. I'm hoping that in due time, if I need more treatment, I only need stems, which I'm also hoping come down in price. Thus, overtime, my chosen route will be cheaper. Perhaps I won't need anything more at all

My husband has had hip problems for many years and is almost ready to have a hip replacement, just as we are getting ready to head out for almost full time travel. Since it is a pre-existing condition, would the insurance (IMG Global) if under a general plan (not just emergency travel insurance) cover any of that? Wishful thinking perhaps, but it sounds like you had knee issues before you set out to travel full time. Just founded your channel and really enjoy your content. Thanks!

Idk. It'd be worth a call to IMG to find out.

Is this something health insurance would pay for after the deductible?

    • @EatWalkLearn

Yes, IMG paid about $2500 after the deductible.
