Our tests included Stress Test, Chest X-Ray, Abdomen Ultrasound, Hearing, Vision, Heart EKG, Mammogram and more. We share exactly where we did our checkups, how much they cost, what we got, how much English was spoken, how comfortable we were, and all the details about getting full medical checkups in both...

    Those 3 you mentioned are non traditional banks. There are traditional banks that do not charge exchange fee. I know PNC bank does not charge conversion fee for money withdrawn abroad. The ATM operators may charge a dollar or two, but the bigger expense is the conversion fee your bank charges. Capital One credit cards do not charge any conversion fee for charges occurred abroad. They use the XE published daily conversion rates. You can bring cash to some countries where the exchange rate is very good, close to XE rate with no fees. Like in London, also in Istanbul Turkey where you get excellent rate at the Grand Bazaar. In short, bring a capital one credit card and then inform your credit card company of your travel plans so that they would know you are using the card in that foreign country, also ask your bank if they charge a conversion fee if you use the ATM card outside. Several banks do not charge conversion fee. We generall bring some cash just incase our credit card or ATM cards run into unexpected problems. We change a small at airports upon arrival, just enough for taxi or other expenses before getting to hotel. And then find a good exchange place in the city. You can google for these info for any city.

Still both are night and day different from getting something similar done State side. Question..... Thank you so much for this. Very helpful. We go back to the state every 6 to 7 months so we continue to get annual checkup in the states but we decided to do the comprehensive check up like in KL every 3 yrs. We’ve been wanting to visit Turkey so we will coordinate our next comprehensive checkup with our visit there. We are NOT a fan of KL so this helps too.

    Great information - I’m looking forward to doing a full wellness check in the next year or so. I had semi-urgent surgery about 2 weeks ago for an issue that I’ve probably have had for quite awhile, but most likely would have presented itself much earlier on the tests and scans you had. Luckily it all worked out, but so frustrating that annual exams in the US aren’t much more than a blood panel, EKG and a conversation.

    Nice to see the comparison. I have been getting my annual health screening at Prince Court in KL the past 2 years and have been totally satisfied with the care I've received there. As you've shown, you can get a similar experience in other countries, but I think this confirms to me that continuing to have my health screening done at Prince Court is the best course of action. I really think that most in the US can't imagine health care being better and more affordable in other countries, but as our experiences have shown (not only with health screenings but other medical care as well) there are other places in the world that put US health care to shame. Thanks for sharing!

    Almost the whole population in Turkey smokes that it was hard to walk outside without constantly being exposed to secondhand smoke. It got so bad that I ended up cutting my trip short because of it. Kuala Lumpur feels so much better in comparison and hardly anyone smokes, and the air outside is so much cleaner!

    Absolutely spot-on advice! My wife and I have also traveled extensively and years ago we stumbled onto the Fidelity debit card. Fidelity offers a cash management account that technically isn’t a checking account, but has most of the same features. In addition to saving on ATM fees and getting the best exchange rate, the account can be pegged to a money market fund, SPAXX, that presently pays a 4.28% dividend. So, money staying in the account isn’t idle.

    Hey, there's another way. You can send yourself money through Western Union for a small fee and pick it up from a local agent. I did the math, and it only costs about 1% on top of mid-market rate. (The more money you send at once, the cheaper it is.)

    Sorry for not fully understanding here. Trying to learn about this as a standard American who has never used a cell phone internationally. Link to flexiphone? Your promo code? I am confused? Is that your main provider then or just data? If just data, who do you use for your main provider? What is the rough breakdown of your bill for the esim case? Who is provider (cost and what is covered). For data you use flexiphone, both global and local. Do some of the local plans have unlimited data and allow hotspotting?

    • @EatWalkLearn
      @EatWalkLearn 8 дней назад

      Our link to Flexiroam is in the description. Their pre-paid Global data works everywhere, so no need to have a different US plan. Our phone calls and SMS are through Google Voice. Calling and Data are not the same. US carriers just want to confuse you into thinking you have to buy them together and pay monthly for service you won't use.

    Another way that can work very well is to take your U.S. Cash into a casino that's near or attached to an American-branded hotel like a Marriott. The exchange rates are usually very good, and there shouldn't be any kind of fee or extra conversion rate. You may have to show your passport. This continues to be my go-to method in both the Dominican Republic and the Philippines, though I haven't yet tried it elsewhere.

We are hitting Thailand on a cruise and i know I will need cash but time will be tight and I wanted a bit to hit the ground. I was surprised that the rate Chase gave me was very close to market without any additional fees. Totally worth it. It may have helped I have Chase checking and cards. 💁‍♀️ Cheers from Cairns.

    Great video. Thank you for all that you two contribute. I have 3 notes of things that I'd like to add for security. 1) LOCK your card in the app when not in use. It's usually easy to unlock it on the phone or a computer when you need it. 2) On TAP ATMs be sure to make sure you are fully logged out of the screen before walking away from the ATM. 3) Setup ALERT text or emails on you phone for any transactions. I'd much rather get a nag alert when I get money out than miss an alert of someone trying to use my card or number when I'm sitting at the beach. Again great video and I enjoy the value you add to the community.

    Never heard of Axos bank but it has to be making up for those free ATM fees somewhere. With Schwab and Fidelity it is on the investment side fees. However, I will check them out as money is insured by FDIC.
