    Good topic! 🙂
I've been a "fragrance"/cologne reviewer on RUclips for over 3 years and I've used the term many many times. I usually explain what I mean when I say it. 👍

I always want to know the perfumer’s intent behind a fragrance. The story behind a bottle is my favourite part! It’s basically olfactive literature - Some fragrances are short lived and linear, like a good joke or haiku, provoking joy or compelling reflection. Some are long winded sagas with twists and turns and surprises, taking the wearer on more of an emotional journey. If you are really lucky a good juice can challenge you to understand it, which I swear can contribute to building empathy, even if it is “twice removed”.

I experience a déjà vu of things I've not experienced yet when smelling fragrances. I've experienced it outside of the realm of scent too but maybe only once or twice. A memory of something that didn't actually happen.
