Yep. Personally experienced myself back in 2005 when doing work in Lagos. Those check points were more prevalent on the outside of the city during the day and worse at night in downtown within Lagos. I do not remember those issues in Port Harcourt.

I did some basic research on Africa and cobalt mines around the Congo for a college course. Consequently found some sources relating to other affairs. Situation in Africa seems really rough all around. It's all about corruption, money, and consequently power derives from it. It's unfortunate.

@McHb You sometimes have to do that! If the person is not breathing, you take the Helmet off to perform CPR. If you wait for the paramedics on a non breathing person, they get serious brain damage on top of the other injuries.

I find it interesting that in the videos where a driver really and truly deserved a broken mirror, the rider yells at them and rides off. But in other situations, where the drama queen rider overreacts, like in this situation, they feel the need to break the mirror. I mean, I could see if this was some ultra-fisheye lens situation and the vehicle was 5 feet in front of idiot-boy cutting him off even though it looked like 50 feet (because it probably was), then break away. BUT, they were both exiting, and slowing to STOP (as evidenced by a RED LIGHT) and the SUV was yards ahead, and while slowing got over to the turn lane, and hopefully soon-to-be-crashed-by-a-hit-and-run-driver-who-is-never-caught archbishop decided to make a motorcycle-compilation scene about nothing. NOTHING!
And he even smashed their mirror when they didn’t even do anything what a fucking asshole

He did go a bit far by hitting the mirror, but it wasn't entirely undeserved. The blinker is worthless unless you put it on at least a few seconds before you even start to turn. The person's reaction is what made him hit the mirror. They were on their phone and completely disregarded what he said about the blinker and having kids in the back like he was stupid.

@@leRat699 Doing that, you risk leaving them paralysed. The spinal column is very fragile to those accidents and you do not know if they have an internal injury on their neck that is about to crack.
