Just to clear something up, My measurement was before the update at a 1000 nits in 1302. It is brighter in 1303 but I have the iDisplay pro which is limited to 1000nits so haven't done a post update measurement. I'll upgrade my equipment to get a more accurate reading.

You need a spectro for accurate measurements on a narrow Spectral Power Distribution like these. Its even more narrow then WOLED. i learned a lot from professional calibrators. Its very expensive. I use a display plus so i have up to 2000nits. But with d65 my Oled CX looks too green. i Had to use an alternate white point as I dont have a spectro myself yet neither.

Bought the 55 yesterday- totally dope and my best TV ever.
I’ve had mine a couple of weeks (65” version). Love it. Been tinkering with the settings a lot. I’ve only got firmware 1302 and it keeps telling me that’s the latest version. Looking forward to getting the update as it sounds like a nice improvement. Great review by the way. That’s me subbed
8:42 that is almost 100% likely because you didn't set up the HDR correctly on the PS5. You CANNOT follow the directions of the PS5.
It has to be a distinct set of "click". I think it's 14-17 clicks. If you follow the PS5 HDR settings "until the image goes away' you will get an extremely overbrightened HDR picture.
This is a know problem. Turn on "Game HDR" and then do the correct amount of clicks.
You would never get a picture looking like yours using just "TV settings". Also think logically here. How the heck would a 1,000 Nits TV cause that blown out image if a QN90B that is 1800 nits wouldn't. Although all Samsung TVs have this issue.

I got the 65 model and wow is it the best TV I've ever owned. The solar powered remote is a nice touch, but I despise the choppy and confusing UI. The picture quality alone sells this TV for me. It handles hdr insanely well.
HDR is gross, turn it off, looks way better in sdr

I bought one on Friday to use as a monitor, replacing my Samsung Odyssey G9.... and have been absolutely blown away with the colour quality and surprisingly even TEXT clarity. I was concerned about the pixel densioty on the screen being so large (55"), but it isn't even slightly a problem - which I can't believe.
With the firmware upgrade - get one. Period.
There has been a firmware update? Planning on buying the tv. Did they remove the lag with using the menu?
@@corneetje123I got mine like 1.5 weeks ago at most? I haven't found the menu to lag all that much. There may be a little here and there, but I haven't found it to be annoying or deal breaking.

@@NexGenTek This is 1st gen tech... If you buy 1st gen tech at least wait 3-6 if not 9 months to see all the issues and fixes haha. Buying 1st gen tech on launch is like asking for trouble. You will get problems 100% sure.

Would be helpful if you include motion tests both in games/sports in tv reviews. Overall, quality review.
Will do, Motion handling on it is great no issues and there's no issues with watching things like football / golf where there is large areas of green.
I really enjoy your reviews. I suffered through issues with a 65" Samsung Q9 that Samsung thankfully issued a refund only to have even worse issues with a 65" Q90 (DSE, and color). After 5 months of dealing with the extended warranty company (CPS) who passed the issue on to Samsung, I was lucky to have Samsung once again refund me for the purchase. After reviews such as yours, KG's comparison to the C2, Digital Trends' Caleb and Stop the FOMO, I decided to give Samsung one more try and bought the S95B from Costco (which through in additional warranty coverage adding up to 5 years) and just WOW! The S95 65" picture is fantastic. Highly recommend this TV to anyone, and buy from Costco if you have a membership to get the extended warranty for the same price as most retail outlets sell it for. I need to get a new Blu-Ray player to enjoy 4K, but everything we have streamed has been such a joy to watch now. Keep up the great work, I am going to check out your video for settings for this great TV. Cheers!
What truly shocks me - and I'm sure every other sane person - is WHY did you go back to Samsung after ALL THOSE ISSUES, FFS ?? !!!!
@@ChrisM541 they refunded me in both instances, and the reviews convinced me the S95B was better than the G2; especially due to concerns about glare on the G2 or C2 screens.
@@ChrisM541 customer service dude , they refunded his money , atleast he'll have a sense of security that they'll refund it if i get another faulty unit and Samsung is a world wide known brand for electronics so these things happens due to manufacturing process and batch variation.

Just in case anyone who has Sky and a new 2022 Samsung TV with smart remote. To access the sky menu with the smart remote press the button with "123" on it. You'll then have a selection of numbers come up. Press the dow button and you'll see "cable box menu". This will bring up the Sky menu and allow you to do recordings and all other things. Took me all day to figure it out.

I know, if's f'ing lame. It's basically the same brightness of the G2 now if you keep the s95b updated. Why it's not being covered more is beyond me.
I really want one NOW but also want to wait maybe for the next iteration of their QD OLED to iron out a few of their quirks, but the pricing has come down on these and it's currently cheaper than the G2 and it's taking a lot of willpower not to hit the place order button.

You never mentioned anything about how it sounds? Putting it in the bedroom without a sound bar is important to know that the TV is delivering Crystal clear sound or not.
Took me 6 months to get my 2008 Kuro looking spot on back then.. And boy did it look good!

I bought this TV and received it on October 20th,2022. The picture was amazing, and the TV worked well until it didn't. Woke up on November 8th (19 days) and the TV doesn't turn on anymore. It keeps cycling through the boot sequence and then turns off. There's a clicking sound, "OLED" appears on the screen (approx. 3 sec.), half the screen is red and then turns off. Does that indefinitely. I had to unplug it.
Tried to call Samsung ... message says: " due to technical difficulties and high call volume, we cannot receive your call". It's been like that for days. Regardless, I've been communicating through their chat service since day one. I would prefer talking to someone, but I'll make do.
All they're willing to do is send a technician to my house to fix it. I asked them to escalate the ticket because I find it ridiculous that I bought a 3000$ paperweight, a lemon that I have only had in my possession for 19 days! I want a replacement. Not some refurbished TV that I paid good money for. I bought this TV to replace my 2016 Samsung LCD TV. That TV had clouding issues after only 14 months! Two months after warranty. I don't want to repeat that experience.
Two days in and I'm still waiting for a response. They say I should expect an email in 3 to 5 business days.
What I've learned from all of this is to not buy directly from Samsung online. At least at a store I could have negotiated in person.

Samsung TV's have overscan set to on permanently, when watching SD channels on Freeview. When watching the HD Freeview channels, you can turn the overscan off. HDMI etc can also turn the overscan off.

Oh man. Was just about to pick up the LG C1 today and get rid of my 2014 Sony lcd. Think I will wait until the end of the year and get the Samsung s95b!

C1 is pretty much the best value OLED TV right now. You can almost buy 3x C1 for 1x S95B and who knows, maybe Samsung will nerf it more over time 🤣QD-OLED is pretty much overpriced right now. Production is lacking and yields could be better. 1st gen tech with issues that will come, no doubt. Never buy TV on launch. It will be 30-40% cheaper in 6 months and software issues will be fixed.
Just bought mine great tv hung mine on the wall and have sound through a Denon sound bar. Checked for any updates but says up to date, wondering if it is worth while keeping an eye on updates through the Samsung site using usb Great review thanks

I went to Best buy to see the S95b they don't even showcase it on there main TV wall. I have a LG C8 with burn-in I looking to get this TV as what I saw so far as been amazing. Love your review thanks with no Dolby vision is that an issue? I hope not because I love this TV!

run a comparison a95k vs a90j . Last years a90j still competes well with g2 fomo was in room with a calibrater that said the a90j was better luminance. Id like to see a comparison video on the a90j vs a95k and g2 . Maybe you guys can bring all the gang down to watch this impressive flagship a90j compete against flagship next gen galery series tvs g1 be another good one to bring in vs sony.Have you seen the rtings rates the sony having the best gradient levels when there matched evenly. Maybe bring some avforums reviewer into the show there excellent on showcasing the best in lg g2 .

Software support for TV OS is very short lived. I remember i dropped over 2k for a Samsung 3D LED TV, when 3D was all the rage, and then 3-4 years later Samsung stopped supporting the TV. I kind of wish TV makers were like Apple where they would continue to support older hardware with software updates. Sony TVs use google OS so at least they are on to something. But the current A95K, sony flagship tv, is just too pricey to justify and Dolby Vision only works at 4k at 60hz....not at 120.
You know, the TV does not stop working once it is not "supported" anymore.
@@DM-rc4yu that's true however, when brands stop updating the software, apps like netflix, hulu, HBO... wont work and then you will need to get a dongle like roku or fire stick. Not ideal. I would like to keep everything to one ecosystem and not have to deal with multiple devices.

I just ordered the 65” G2. It will be installed on Saturday. S95B has already had reports of burn in. That is why they dropped the brightness level. Plus LG offers a 5yr warranty on the panel

@@maciekprokop3780 It is very expensive. The vast majority of folk in USA/Europe would NOT buy this because of the cost. Unfortunately, there are still waaay too many extremes of salary ...that's the shocking truth. I'm sure, if humanity makes it, such extremes will be not exist in a distant future. Now, while this is all very true, there is also the possibility of saving up for expensive items, depending on your disposable income and length of time it would take you to save for this, though most folks disposable income would be so small that it would take too long for them to consider this route.

@@TheRafcave New tech zero info on how burn in looks... Also greyish blacks when lights are up, no dolby vision, hdr looks WAY WAY worse on netflix for example than dolby. No game optimiser etc
After the update people are returning it back due to it being less dim after the update . Also the interface is very slow navigating

Hi I saw you talking about the smudges on the screen and I was having the same issue, what type of cleaning solution are you using?
They say that the QN90B and QN95B are for the most part the same. But what about the speakers/audio?
I’ve had this for about a week now, and it’s going back. It works fine with any higher def media, but anything lower res, like certain TV-channels or dvds just gives a really choppy image any time the camera pans. You can turn up the image smoothening of course, but that just ruins movies with that illusion of higher framerate. Disapponited that Samsung couldn’t fix artifacts like that.

You're welcome, Samsung didn't know about the brightness issue when I reached out to them, they swore up and down that the S95B still hit 1500 nits after update 1302, said anyone saying any different online was misinformed, I had to link them a video comparing 2 S95B'S, one updated, one not updated, showing a drastic difference in the brightness with the same settings, Samsung told me it was only that model, I told them to explain the comments, dozens out the wazoo attesting to similar issues with theirs as well, after an hour or so Samsung finally replied with acknowledgement of the issue and thanked me for exposing this issue to them, and said my claim would be escalated to their hire ups to be taken seriously, that was just about a week ago, kudos to them for nailing the problem, I know which tv to buy now

Thanks for doing this mate/TV bro.. I got mine but, sense I'm in the middle of moving haven't gotten a chance to test mine. Plus I would of hated shelling out for a panel that was considered the brightest oled to having a update break that. There is a conspiracy in some fourms that Samsung did this so that Sony qoled would sell sense they helped with the panel witch makes no sense to ME. Sony will make money regardless they do have the better picture quality of all 2022 TV lineup it's not worth the extra money in my opinion though.

They nerf the shit out of the max brightness nits while claiming can reach the 1500 its not the same tv anymore from the first time i purchase it
OLED screens need to find a way to get rid of judder and stutter. Rtings reviews lab ALWAYS finds maximum judder and stutter on OLED screens. That is my Achilles heel.

in most of the video here... there are no silver edged bezels visible. Is this because you truly cant see them in a dark room or is it because there is NO silver edge for some odd reason... ?

I want to upgrade from Sony X850E to Oled specially this Tv , but i checked on Ritngs chanel , that Qd-Oled has much risk to burn in more than Oled like LG, and the strange thing is S95b cheaper than LG C2 although that S95b picture quality better than the Oled.

It was before, I have the iDisplay pro which as you know is limited to 1000nits. Visually it seems brighter after 1303 but I'll need to upgrade my equipment to measure exactly how much.

@@allthingstech No worries man, thank you for the clarification. A special note about your gear. You don't necessarily need to upgrade. While the i1 display pro was only technically certified/guaranteed accuracy at 1000 nits, it does have the ability to give accurate readings at higher nits. Xrite simply does guarantee accuracy above 1000 nits on the i1, but its still there at extremely high values. Using photography equipment, I've seen accuracy as high up as 5k nits, while messing studio lights I knew to be rated that high. I've tested this for years against meters like the C6 rated at 2000 nits, and a Klein k10 paired with a jeti spectraval 1511, with excellent results. You have a solid piece of gear, that while not the fastest is accurately sound. Additionally, the S95B doesn't seem to be anywhere near 1000 nits, as my last readings were 500 nits on firmware 1302. So you should be good with what you have, even if you don't take me at my word on this. I'll test 1303 and report my findings, to verify if the brightness has changed. As an owner of the S95B, this hits very close to home so anyone covering this topic gets a 👍from me.

Would be beneficial when you note that some games are too bright to dial it down and let viewers see what improvements it makes. All reviews I have watched make the same claim but fail to show it corrected. At this time, this tv fails at brightness until shown otherwise.

No it’s a Oled tv so it doesn’t have that issue

I must say...Im begging for this tv..
Ive got the 65 inch and experienced the build quality issues you mention. It was warped out of the box along the top and the sides. It’s subtle but definitely not acceptable to me. When putting a metal ruler along the back to check it you can see light coming underneath the ruler. As an aside the ruler touching the back scratched the plastic “metal look” back. I’m bitterly disappointed by it and sending it back. I haven’t even mentioned the overly luminescence colours or software problems.
You are the only reviewer I have seen mention how awkward finger prints are to remove, even using a normal microfiber cloth marked mine and I have never marked one using a cloth before. And the os is still awfull lol

I've seen a lot of reviews about this tv and 95% of the reviewers only tell us about its max brightness/Nits in film maker mode only. could you test and tell us this Tv's Max Brightness/Nits in every mode it has ?

Appreciate if this model or indeed any 700B/800B/900B (8K with higher PPI) owners connecting PC can confirm if 32:9 mode can be (manually) set above 3840x1080. If so what resolutions in 21:9 and 32:9 are supported. Appears very few reviewers cover much regard the PC gaming capabilities of these Samsung models with specifications/features designed for PC gaming.
You can force a resolution that doesn't work with that window it's impossible there's not enough pixels
