    I have a Rife hybrid set of irons from 4 to sand wedge. I am so happy with them, I have a slow swing and being + 60 years of age my game is, stay safe and away from the trees and bunkers. I have found my carry distance for each club and adjusted total distance for ground dryness etc.. they are brilliantly straight and consistent....

    I have used a full set of hybrids by Lazrus 2-PW for about 18 months, I liked them so much I gave some away and bought another full set. The short end, the scoring clubs didn’t feel right so I mixed them in with my Callaway X2.0 irons.
    The last few weeks I picked up the Adams V3 set. I hit these almost as good, (distance) as the Lazrus, but I am way more consistent with the Adams.
    The hybrid clubs are the way to go, it just takes some work to find out what works the best for you.

    Yes in general the longer, shafted Hybrid will go higher and about 12 yards further than the same lofted single length hybrid. The distance is not the reason I carry the SL 19 degree Cobra F9 Hybrid, it is the versatility of shots that I can play with it.

    • @AlexElliottGolf
      @AlexElliottGolf  2 года назад

      hello Kym so do you think that you would be able to play less shots with the rife?

      @@AlexElliottGolf Hi Alex, yes I do. I have a Cobra F7 4-5 Hybrid ( set at 23.5)and a TS2 Hybrid ( set at 29). I hit them well, but they are high trajectory shots ( draw or fade) but pretty stock hybrid like flights. The SL allow me to create low trajectory punch/ hook recovery shots, hit out of terrible lies, ball above feet/ below feet, chipping near the green. The short shaft is the factor that allows it's versatility. I would have the SL 19, Rife 25 was it?, then another Hybrid around 30 degrees ( or a Cleveland HB Turbo 7 iron), then my SL irons in my bag.
      Alex can you do a comparison of the long irons hbrid- iron design and conventional Hybrids ( 19-30 degree loft region) please?

  • @jadamane
    @jadamane Год назад

    It’s the shaft all these clubs say they give technology too get the ball in air when it comes too mid high handicapped clubs . But it’s really the shaft that give the balloon affect. Throw a stiff or extra stiff mid flight shaft in there and it will get with the cobra lol

    The package hybrids are ideal for par 3 175-195 yards high spin ill take to stop on a green.
    I have taken a 5i and 3W out of my bag this year already. I swapped to 7W less club speed 85-95mph carry 190-210yards & 5 Hybrid Cobra carry 175-190 yards. Ill take those centre of fairway distance any day. 6 iron takes to 165-185 yards carry. New found (again) love for higher lofted graphites. 👍😁😎

    Decent video again, Alex. I have to question the methodology, though. Dry ball data hitting off mats is fine for what it is, but what it isn't is a good comparison of clubs. A lot of the tech in the Cobra club is designed to improve turf interaction. So, the differences between the clubs might be huge when comparing them from the fringe or rough instead of tight lies like the mat provides; in other words, the proof is in the pudding may be true as you said, but that pudding is on the course, not at the range!

    Hi Alex. My dad will be turning 80 in May and he is looking for some light hybrids to replace his irons (6 to 9). His current irons are no longer easy to hit as he gets older. May I know what brand and models of hybrids are lightweight (graphite shaft) and good for seniors. Thanks.

    I took my old Wilson fat shaft 17 & 21 hybrids to the range after watching this video. I never really fancied them, but I hit 100 balls with them using Toptracer and had very similar results to you. The 21 is going in my bag this season. It was so easy to launch and maybe all the tech on hybrids doesn't count for much in real world conditions?

    Hi Alex, thank you. I loved your enthusiasm with these. I believe some people can get a bit too carried away with the stiffness of shafts by thinking stiffer means better, when stiffer for a slower swinger has the opposite effect. Slower swing speeds = higher shaft flex requirements, the slower you swing, the more flex is needed. 👍😎🇦🇺 (Edit. I’m glad I posted my thoughts before the end of the video, keep up the great work).
