If the dad probably gave them salary for their time then they would have been more grateful. However, if the kids decided to look at this as their future and worked at it then they could have turned this place around and made boat loads of money.
The problem with this family was that the dad didn't give all his kids equal responsibilities. So they decided to kill time by fighting with each other.

Gordon ist such a pure soul. Sure, he yells and he has a foul mouth, but damn if he doesn't genuinely care about these peoples' businesses and their struggle. He always tries so hard to reignite their passion
It’s bad that a lot of people just don’t understand that and rant about how he’s such a terrible person for raising his voice and being blunt. They hate Gordon for rocking the boat and not using soft language. A lot of the people on his shows are people who clearly aren’t used to being challenged when they so clearly need a wake up call. I know a man whose family came to my country from Lebanon. The father opened an eatery. He served the best Lebanese food in his town. His kids worked in the business. They grew up, and one became a banker, the other became a wholesaler. Their father retired and closed up his shop. The kids took their fathers brand and recipes, and sold them in supermarkets. The key difference is that the dad let his kids grow and develop.
Jamal is one of the most toxic guys I have seen. Legit wtf, he berates everyone and runs his mouth for nothing. I would've disowned him a long time ago if I were his parents
And whose fault is it that he's an annoying little f*ck? Definitely not the toxic dad's who make him and his siblings live his own dream, forcing them to work for him for free, knowing well that if they don't get any money they'll never be able to leave and live, right? He's the oldest brother, he was stuck in this sh*t for the longest, he is who wants to finally live his own life the most. I'd go insane and throw f-ing tantrums as well. Disowning your child for being a bad person? Look at the one who raised him first and think again.
Wesam is 17 years old.... this is soooooooo fucking illegal. He should be having the time of his life, experience being a teenager, not carrying his father's failings on his back. Goddamit, parents like this are horrible. Toxic shitbags who can't even admit their own failures.

After the Kabob Room was featured in Kitchen Nightmares, there was an uptick in business, though ratings appear to have remained near the same as previously after an initial (small) rise in both foot traffic and ratings. Overall, Yelp shows before its closure in 2014, it closed with 105 reviews and 3 stars. Najjar, for his part, has suggested that while Chef Ramsay did teach him well in how to make food, his décor ideas did nothing to help the Mediterranean Kabob Room, and the location may have been the final nail in the coffin. I agree but I think the father lets him get away with all that because he is better looking than his brothers. I doubt it's bull. If you watch Kitchen Nightmares you'd want to see it first hand, and if you know of Gordon Ramsay, you'll go because he's famous. Surely there are enough people in that area that know him for a full restaurant.
It is. There's a disclaimer at the very end that only flashes for a few frames that states: "The diners featured in this program were aware that they were participating in an episode of Kitchen Nightmares." It's pretty obvious. I've never heard customers act and behave they way they do on this show. Even in the ones with questionable food. On the sets there are producers who walk around and prod the customers to say things a certain way so they can get coverage (many different reactions so they have content to piece together like a puzzle during editing. Speaking of which... "The footage shot in this program has been edited such that in places it is shown in a different time sequence than actually shot." In other words, a lot of what you see is merely an exaggeration of what actually happened, with music, sound effects and narration thrown in for dramatic effect. he UK version was preferable since it didn't add in all of these extra contrivances, but Americans loved this version all the same.
Idk if they are actors or what but no matter what happens we don't curse and they are saying bad words next to their parents... I can't believe it... we prefer to Dieinstead of being disrespectful near our family and parents

@I. Wynn Wynn um. Not all men are as you say, and this is coming from a woman. Its honestly disgusting how you just generalized half of the population as huge assholes. Stop
You guys realize that the main abuser is the father and his subconscious sexism makes him target his sons more than his daughters, and jamal being the second biggest abuser is a coping mechanism to avoid being a target... right? Because is pretty obvious. Victims living in this conditions usually don't develop a healthy relationship and communication skills, also the gender role just emphasize that behavior, the daughters have a negotiator role more than a target one in the emotional abuse (they are still victims of the slavery and control deal).
Cobra I agree. Those poor kids should be able to decide what they want to do with their lives. I've always told my kids that I dont care what they want to do with their lives, just be happy!

Kyndal Pogue I agree that the dad shouldn't keep his kids working in the restraunt if they don't want to. I mean I can understand if it was temporary, because the dad may have been going through some stuff with the restraunt, but the kids are still living with them.
@Messy I never meant to say it looks good, I was saying that for *him* it looks good when looking straight in the mirror, but he never saw it from the side apparently xD
Are we not gonna talk about how the dad ONLY had 7 kids because of his dream to run a family restaurant where they’d all work there together? That in itself is so selfish, I feel so sorry for his kids
I just realized how young they are: Jamal --> 21 Emad --> 20 Leina --> 19 Randah --> 18 Wesam --> 17 Then there's the brother who wears his snapback backwards 17:41, another daughter who has a yellow hair clip 25:11, and another daughter who's at the front of the group 41:14 (that's also a full family shot), but they have to be younger than seventeen because Jamal is the oldest. You take Any family, stick them in a room together 8+ hrs a day, and dont even pay them.
I dont care how functional your family is, everyone would be at each others throat in this situation.

Gordon provides that. It might not be comfortable, but most remedies don’t taste nice.
@@victorsjostedt4393 Exactly. Gordon only acts like this with stubborn/prideful people. He won’t knock you while you’re down. In fact, he’s been very sympathetic to more sensitive people on the show.
@@xTwilightWolvesx Yeah, if he was as rude as people claimed he was, he would be mean to the waiters as well, but I've never actually seen him criticise someone who wasn't a chef/owner/manager doing things their "perfect" way, blameshifted away from their responsibilities, tried to mislead Gordon, or exposed their customers or staff to physical harm. Gordon may appear very comfortable with confrontation, but he also shows good judgment. It's just that some people seem to have this thing that 1) if you yell you're automatically wrong and an asshole, and 2) people's short term feelings should be protected even if it sacrifices their current/future selves.
Idk, it's just a show. You can't tell if the person is caring or blunt in real life, when you see such behaviour in TV.

People romantiizing the frankly abusive situation these kids were in is scary. "They love him" He made them love in using fear, and control. You can't say they actually love him until you ask them when they are finally free and safe. If they forgive him and he apologizes that's love. If they are still under his control that's not love.

"Sam’s Mediterranean Kabob Room has long had its door closed. Will we see another try, with a new location of Sam’s Mediterranean Kabob Room in 2018? Only the future can tell."

It is. There's a disclaimer at the very end that only flashes for a few frames that states:
"The diners featured in this program were aware that they were participating in an episode of Kitchen Nightmares."
It's pretty obvious. I've never heard customers act and behave they way they do on this show. Even in the ones with questionable food. On the sets there are producers who walk around and prod the customers to say things a certain way so they can get coverage (many different reactions so they have content to piece together like a puzzle during editing. Speaking of which...
"The footage shot in this program has been edited such that in places it is shown in a different time sequence than actually shot."
In other words, a lot of what you see is merely an exaggeration of what actually happened, with music, sound effects and narration thrown in for dramatic effect. he UK version was preferable since it didn't add in all of these extra contrivances, but Americans loved this version all the same.
