- Emanuele Filiberto di Savoia, better known as The Prince of Venice, is a man of many titles: heir to the Italian monarchy, “Dancing With The Stars” champion, reality TV host, grandson of the last king of Italy, and most recently, food truck proprietor. Based in Los Angeles, Prince of Venice serves authentic, fresh, restaurant quality pasta dishes out of his food truck.
Emanuele started Prince of Venice after realizing Los Angeles, with its abundance of food trucks, didn’t have one offering fresh pasta. Serving made-to-order pasta dishes tossed in pesto, bucatini, amatriciana, bolognese, cacio e pepe, and pomodoro, the Prince's dishes are influenced by the pasta dishes of Rome, Milian, Naples, Sicily, and of course, Venice.

He is not. There is no King of Italy or Prince of Venice anymore. That guy would be heir to the throne and actually sued the Italian People for 260 million euro claiming the exil was "injustice". PS: It wasnt just a law precenting himbfrom entering italy - it was the constitution and in my opinion they shouldn't habe changed it.

Guys, I’m from Italy and believe me, this is a delicacy that is not as common as you’d think... people don’t go around making fresh pasta everyday, and they sure don’t know how to make it THAT good... most Italian recipes are made of just a few ingredients, and making them taste good is something that you can easily learn, but making them taste and look amazing is something else... I would LOVE to have a good truck that sells fresh pasta near my home, it’s like your grandma is cooking lunch for you everyday... GAAAAAADDDAAAAAAAAMN

No one would have cared about this video if he was a “normal” italian, which he actually is, but since he holds a titular title he is OG and all that stuff in america. Ciao tutti, As an Italian I can weigh in on this. The reason his family, the house of savoy, is exiled from Italy (why he is in America) has to do with fascism. After WW2, victor emmanuele was the king of Italy. He enabled Mussolini’s rise to power and appointed him and was made emperor of Italy’s conquered territories. As a result, after the war and the rightful death of Mussolini, he was subsequently exiled just 30 something days after passing the monarchy to his son Umberto. A republic of Italy was established and all descendants of the monarchy are exiled. So this guy is directly related to Umberto and as a result was exiled, as all males of the savoy line were. I believe the exile has been lifted but I suppose he chooses to live in America. So yeah, the reason this guy has a food truck is a direct result of the Italian monarchy’s complacencies in fascism.
Basically what I’m saying is that his family is responsible for fascism and when the tide turned on the royals they fled without remorse, and now the other relatives live lives of indulgence without having worked for anything really. At least this guy is productive with his life... well, except for the time that he advocated for reestablishing the Italian monarchy through (ironically) electoralism

That looks way better than 90% of the “fresh pasta” I had I’ve had in Italy. We saw barilla pasta boxes stacked up in a few restaurant kitchens that claimed they made fresh homemade pasta

As a French speaker, I could tell you that European natives speaking English usually sounds like French 🤷🏾♀️

His wife is actually french. Her name is Clotilde Courau and she's an actress.
JP G have you never heard a Northern Italian or French accent before? He sounds French other than when he is saying Italian words. I think he sounds french because his royal family are from Savoia which included parts of Eastern france and he grew up in a French speaking country.

@@bangtang1717 his family was the last monarch of Italy, I think his grandfather was the last king. After WW2 his family was exiled due to them supporting Mussolini and for other issues that monarchy caused. You can read online about his family - house of Savoy.

I met him in 2003, it was the first time they were allowed back in Italy. He came on tour to his grandmother’s high school, which I attended. I dressed up with a replica of her uniform.

Im bulgarian. Our Tsar (the current bulgarian monarch and the only one who still has the Tsar title globally) - Simeon II - is the son of Boris III and Giovanna of Savoy. After the war he and his sister and mother were chased from the country by the communists. He and his family lived in Spain. Much like Emannuele I know about the hardships of living in exile as our tsar was just like this. On top of that they seem to be related as Emannuele is from the late queen Giovanna's bloodline. Thats how close we were - Bulgaria and Italy, before the war ended. And then everything changed

This reminds me of an Italian food truck in Austin TX. A married couple ran it, they barely spoke a word of English, I had to point at the menu to order. They handmade the pasta right there and it was by far the best pasta I've ever had, better than Little Italy in NYC. I tried in vain to find it again any time I'd visit Austin, but turns out they closed down not long after I had it.

He’s not poor at all, he doesn’t live in Italy because his whole family (the Savoia, the same dynasty that united Italy in the 1800’s) has been exiled permanently after WW2.
He tries really hard to be more “accepted”, especially in Italy, since he’s family doesnt have a great reputation anymore, to say the least. But you can rest assured he’s not working on that truck xD nor dressing like that regularly
He is not in exile, the transitory article of the Constitution forbidding them to set foot in the Italian Republic has been canceled back on 2002. He can come if he wants to.

That's new to me, I didn't know that Emanuele Filiberto started a business like this in the USA. He was pretty active on italian TV some years ago, he even tried to become a singer on national TV
