Amazing. I'm an American but the new American attitude that things can't be repaired disgusts me. The people of your shop are incredibly talented. I've been a mechanic for close to 40 years but never really got into the bodywork side though a close friend owns a body shop here. This work absolutely fascinates me.
I retired or should I say it retired me, being a body and frame man. And yes it's shameful the amount of waste we have in this industry due to the high cost of parts and materials, it's easier and cheaper to total an automobile than to pay a skilled craftsman.
its not an "new attitude" its just a fact based on science. typically you cant certify these trucks to be rated the same as they were prior to the repair.. trucking companies require insurance. . and these trucks cant be insured. No one is going to cover the chance that the frame snaps under a load that it was originally certified to handle and causes a accident / damage to property / loss of life.

Boa noite.
Thank you, clear and concise! Very interesting and for me- educational. As for telling the story here: camera placement and editing of the action, ie: the set-up and function of each piece of equipment and how it was used by the master tells the story. Editing was perfect to show clearly and concisely and without unnecessary filler, thank you. Everything needed to showcase the talent and result of this master of his art is well displayed. For me- no narration was necessary!

First time I've seen a truck chassis being straightened. Very impressive. Panel beating at it's best. Most times I've seen the chassis cut out and replaced, not straightened. Professional job well done. I hope he is well paid for that?
Well done. My dad used to do truck chassis straightening 50 years ago. Basic tools compared to modern day. He had two parallel railway tracks embedded into the concrete floor as the base. And tools made to suit the job at hand. Always amazing what can be achieved.
Extraordinaire !!!!!
Amazing skills at work there. Here in Australia, that frame would have been scrapped, because of the amount of Hours involved in repairing it and Our Roads and Traffic authority would not allow a repair of that much damage, they would Demand the whole frame replaced. Your guys made this huge damage possible to fix. Well done.
Yes , In australia a vehicle is often classified as a total "stat writeoff" even though it has only minor cosmetic damage , the way they do the classification is often mind boggling and sometimes it is 100 % either corruption or massive incompetence. We can fix this type of damage , and i have done it myself many many times in heavy earthmoving equipment , he is straightening 8 mm plate , i have straightened up to 65 mm plate , sometimes even QT high tensile. Its all do-able.
Yes he has incredible skills. And YES he is showing off. With that much damage to the chassis the cab and a whole lot of other stuff is written off. So the truck is a write off. He did it to prove a point. Definately the man too see for chassis modifications and repairs.

Parabéns! Isso não é trabalho, e sim ARTE.
Verdade amigo
For me- no narration was necessary!
what joy to watch a craftsman at work, and working alone
First time I've seen a truck chassis being straightened. Very impressive. Panel beating at it's best. Most times I've seen the chassis cut out and replaced, not straightened. Professional job well done. I hope he is well paid for that?
Quite amazing. There is no school to teach this kind of work .It is genius and talent combined with a eye to quality.
I have seen hundreds of car and light truck frames straightened. This is on a different level. Absolutely fascinating. 👍
Interesting how the stress in the bends is relaxed as he works carefully. We used to say that such a man has “strong arms and gentle fingers”
Well done. My dad used to do truck chassis straightening 50 years ago. Basic tools compared to modern day. He had two parallel railway tracks embedded into the concrete floor as the base. And tools made to suit the job at hand. Always amazing what can be achieved.
Thank you for your comment) Good luck)
Extraordinaire !!!!!
HE DID EFFIN AMAZING JOB
Amazing skills at work there. Here in Australia, that frame would have been scrapped, because of the amount of Hours involved in repairing it and Our Roads and Traffic authority would not allow a repair of that much damage, they would Demand the whole frame replaced. Your guys made this huge damage possible to fix. Well done.
In the U.S. that whole truck would have definitely been scrapped. The man hours would exceed the value of the truck.
@Ron Daniel Foxall sometimes they simply cant buy them , or as we found during Covid , the replacement parts may have a 12 month lead time to source.
Yes he has incredible skills. And YES he is showing off. With that much damage to the chassis the cab and a whole lot of other stuff is written off. So the truck is a write off. He did it to prove a point. Definately the man too see for chassis modifications and repairs.
Neat watch how its done. This is one hard working guy right there. Awesome skills. Thank for sharing.
thank you friend
Greetings from Russia
The man is a genius, absolutely incredible skills. What a worksop, what a jig. Incredible
