Gotta hand it to these men. Fixed a jammed transmission using only hand tools. No power tools, steel toe boots, or equipment truck. Humbling 🙏🏻. 😊

it's going to break down again same place in a few weeks.
You'd never see them fix a transmission on the side of the highway in Canada or be allowed to. But that's what I love about this channel.

Good job on fixing a transmission with minimum tools and spare parts. Removing and replacing the transmission in the middle of a roadway in the dark is no easy feat either. It is interesting to see how they lift up the transmission to bolt it in. Good job of making the video.

When I needed recovery to tow my car 6 miles home I thought the recovery man was going to cry when he had to set up his little towing system on his van.

коробку которую и не ставили на авто.масло есть в кпп а шестеренки с солидолом в подшипниках а масла нету на шестернях.Ну пакистанцы обосрались конкретно с накручиванием лайков под видео)).ай да мастера по ремонту))

They certainly took the "temper" out of that shaft when they welded it and the gears closest to the weld. I wonder how long it could last?

Не буду комментировать качество наплавленного металла и твердость полученной поверхности под ролики подшипника.Меня очень волнует вопрос- А не мало ли при сборке насыпали песочка вовнутрь,собирая агрегат на земле? Не повлияет ли недостаток песка в агрегате на долговечность и надежность корбки?

До стоянки доехать хватит. Если свернуло 50-60 hrc, то электродный слой сотрет еще быстрей, плюс внешнюю часть роликового подшипника так и оставили поврежденной, а учитывая, что грузят сверх нормы в грузовики, остается лишь надеяться и верить.
Ага! Вы видели как чувак забил молотком последний ролик в первичный вал? Это значит что ролики там вращается не будут, для нормальной работы роликового подшипника между роликами должен быть небольшой зазор, а ещё им неизвестно такое понятие как цементация рабочих поверхностей 😁
Что то они в кроссовках, а не в шлепках, поди похолодало..

Out of interest they tested the fit while the part was hot and the bearings was cold, does that have any bearing (pun?) on the fit when the bearings heat up also or when they both become hot?
You don't just go buy a new one, you fix it. They fixed it. It's fixed now. Good job.

It's a temporary repair the fill in welding & machining and probably the second repair . a brand new good metal part is the permanent absolute. 😆😉

I've seen em fix a lotta stuff with welding on the piece while chucked up in the lathe.
I suppose the welding machine ground clamp is on the lathe somewhere.
I've always wondered if there is any arcing on the internals of the lathe.
I guess the key to that is a very tight connection on the ground to the lathe and the chuck to the piece?
Has anybody here ever done that? 🤔
I generally take the piece outta my lathe for that type of repair.
And then they look down on the ground to find one last bolt ....... 😅
See that bluing on the end of the main shaft where they were welding. That means the tempering is messed up and the shaft is softer where it has been heat affected. My money would be on that toothed section stripping out after some use, either that or the bearing failing in the end of the first motion shaft due to swarf building up.

When the part cooled down it would have been a sloppy fit. Should have cooled the part after rough turning, then measure. The emery was even smoking as he was tring to get a so called good fit. Don't they know that metal grows when heated ? I would bet that when it was cold that the bearing register would be at least 5 thou undersize.
