Finally somebody I can relate to. Most people who talk about how to treat acne have a perfect skin and have never experienced anxiety or depression.
I’m 16 and I’ve had acne for ~2 years now. I’ve tried so much and it might get better for a week or so but then it comes back again. That’s such a depressing thing to witness-your skin getting better and thinking the acne will soon be gone but then it comes back and gets worse. Even my closest friend don’t understand me. He just says things like ”Just pop the pimples.” and ”You should use some treatment.”-Like I haven’t tried everything!

    • @darlamccracken4062
      @darlamccracken4062 Год назад +20

Your friend just doesn't grasp the depth of how acne makes you feel. Stress, diet and genetics all play a role, and just like the young man in this video, not everyone gets good results from treatment. No matter whether your acne goes away or not, please know that all of us have a beauty that does not show til you speak and act and anyonethat judges you on your skin quality or color does not deserve your beauty anyway! You are so young, please don't let mean people or this situation keep you down, and although it feels s like the biggest self esteem crushing thing ever, you got this, and one day you will share your knowledge of how to heal your skin and your heart 💞

Now my skin is super clear and I get compliments on it which kinda blows my mind. Drink lots of water kids and wear sunscreen every day! Honestly, those 2 things were game changers. Now for skincare just use a simple cleanser and vitamin c serum and that's pretty much it. Like he said you don't need an expensive 8 step skin routine just keep it simple. But seriously don't forget to drink water!

You have no idea how much your videos were a comfort to me. I was on a dose of about 120, not as high as you and not for as long as it did eventually force a remission. Recently, my acne resurfaced, leading me back to your channel. I'm amazed at your progress. Currently, I'm following your elimination method, starting with cutting out dairy.
I've relearned the importance of not touching my face, even during intense workouts. Simple changes like letting sweat fall naturally instead of wiping my face have made a significant difference. I appreciate your positive, kind, and empathetic messages. Thank you for everything.

by far the best Acne advise ive heard in a while. Yes Diet is key to get rid of acne and many other causes for acne. Eliminating Sugar and dairy can do wonders for your skin. lots of fluids and plant based diet helps get rid of toxins from your blood stream. It is also about balancing hormones which is very tricky incase of females. once these internal issues are taken care of, the external cosmetic treatment helps.
I had bad acne when I was in my teens too. what helped me reduce the oiliness of my skin was to wash my face with a paste of chickpea flour and water with a few drops of lemon juice in it. I washed my face atleast 3 - 4 times with this paste. There were not many products in the 80's in India so my best sun protection those days was Lacto Calamine. being a clay based lotion it helped a lot is controlling the oiliness on my face.

While effective, this drug is serious business and side effects are not to be ignored, esp when it comes to all over joint and muscle pain and suicude and depression. I've experienced both. I did not realize some of the ultra serious effects, I thought it was just me because I normally do adjust pretty well to medications. I have been on this medication pretty regularly, over 2 years. Although currently a 3 day a week regime but at this point im backing down. Although it's not always visible to everyone, back acne is not the easiest to get at to treat.

I cut out anything with milk proteins including casein and whey. Still always had a small but unattractive crop of raised, red pimples and they would take forever to heal because I kept picking at them. One thing that might have helped is that I finally got better at keeping my hands off my face.

I took accutane as a teen which helped back then but I would never have thought acne would linger towards my adult hood. I have oily prone skin and tried almost every cleanser suited for my skin type. Also tried eating healthy but no significant changes. I guess I'm in the same boat as you. We removed dairy and his skin cleared and was porcelain beautiful until he jumped head first back into dairy again at around 11 yrs old. He’s now 14 and has the worst cystic acne….. again! We just removed dairy a month ago and his skin is super slow to respond this time. BUT, he was also using differin and it kept his skin in a constant state of red angry flare. Now I’m hoping with the removal of all the harsh skincare and staying dairy free we can see some good improvement. I’m impatient for him and feel so bad he’s going through this.

I has cystic acne from 14 to 35. I went to the dermatologist and tried everything except accutane. I did an intense elimination diet and I figured out it was caused by tomatoes, It's 99% gone now. Cysts and blackheads are all gone and I only get a a small white head once in a while.

@@waynepayne9875 That's right. No other foods break me out except iodized salt but tomatoes are the worst for me. Tomatoes or iodized salt are in so many things and tomatoes are supposed to be "healthy" so that's why it was so hard to figure out what food was giving me acne. Some people are sensitive to all foods in the "nightshade" family but I can still eat potatoes and peppers with no problems.

I dont touch my face, i switch out my pillow case atleast 3 times a week, and i take multivitamins for recovery and for the pimples on my neck and back as it does an amazing job at removing those. And i never wash my face just try and stand under the shower let the water flow ovee your face keep your pillows clean and dont touch it. The reason you dont wash it is because your face does need a little bit of its natural oils

I had acne for 10 years before I figured out that it was 99% caused by my diet. If I eat or drink anything with a high glycemic load (bread, pasta, drink milk) I get a huge sugar high that gets my heart pumping rapidly, it's like I'm on a drug or something, I feel amazing, and then the next day I'll crash (be in a bad mood) and usually within a day or two of consuming the high-glycemic-load food/drink I'll feel a painful bump on my face and a compulsion to pick at it.
I remember a few years ago I started just eating baguettes and drinking chocolate milk every day and within a week or two I looked like a meth addict with my face covered in acne that I'd picked at and made look worse.
Interestingly I figured out acne was caused by my diet when I went for a week eating nothing but Haagen-Dazs chocolate ice cream, which has milk and sugar in it, but I think the cream helps even out the glycemic response or something, because my skin became perfect within the week that I was eating it. So if you're too lazy to try eating a "clean" diet (meat/fruits/vegetables) maybe try eating nothing but Haagen-Dazs chocolate ice cream for a week and see if your skin gets better, and if it does, you know the acne is from your diet.
I also remember being in a Whole Foods and overhearing someone talking to his friend about some lady he knew (his sister or something) who had acne for years and couldn't get rid of it until she went to a Chinese natural medicine guy in California, who (from the sound of it) just changed/cleaned-up her diet.
It's crazy to me that this is such a huge problem in so many countries and the dermatologists seem mostly either clueless or incentivized to steer people towards drugs that make pharmaceutical companies money.

From what i know, a sick gut may be the cause for skin issues such as eczema and acne, as its a big part of the immune system. Easy fix is to eat a lot of pickled food like cucumbers and kimchi, also try to eat the Rainbow in Vegetables everyday (seems like the different colors improve bacterial diversity in the gut). with more water this should really help with your health. After all acne is generally a symptom not the Trigger.
    good luck to everyone

It seems for some people, it is not just oily skin, infections, or diets, but your own body creating too much oil on the top of dead skin which blocking your pores 🙃🙃 Nothing worked on my skin, but as soon as I started to exfoliate, it was gone in a month. Then I have added sebum-control products and antioxidants later, it definitely helped improve my skin further. If you are suffering from ance, go try any BHA or "Peeling" type of products, and it doesn't have to be expensive.

2% BHA Tonic 2-3x a week (on days without retinol)
Niacinamid Toner or Serum depending on what active ingredients i used
