It has cost you, but you've revived a beautiful vintage car, its absolutely lovely, the colour is so classy, its a piece of class work, and its a signature car that can be in your collection forever. Its a labour of love. Make money on your other cars, keep this for love
This car represents the start of the new TGE TV and is my favourite of the collection. At the end of the day you will get exactly the car you wanted. Yes it has cost a bit, but it has also helped draw in the interest of viewers who are into their classics and modern classics. I look forward the 912 in the metal.
“Absolute berk” is the best thing I’ve heard on RUclips this month.
I love all this stuff. Care a lot less about latest ridiculously fast . The classics are interesting.
Man, have to be honest, this is my fave out of ur garage. Loving the journey this thing goes through and the transparant chat that comes with it. Cheers mate.
'My trousers loosened further and my bottom receive a further savaging' That is CHAOS hahahahaha
It is so good to see your 912 back on your channel. I am really looking forward to all the future classic Porsche content. Chaos!
The joys of owning a 912. Congrats!!
Love this car! Was lucky enough to drive a Targa from 1964 a few times and the emotions it gives you are just different
Great update video Tom. Enjoyed this buddy.
You’re astute enough to not lose on most of your cars I’m sure but you deffo wont lose on this. Absolutely love this car. Keep up the good work sir!
Love the classic content. Looking forward to more videos on this 👍
Great vid Tom - love that thing 💪🏼
Worth every penny! Looks brilliant Tom...
As the owner of an Irish green 912 on which I have spent a fortune, I can vouch for your figures, although your engine rebuild sounds very cheap. A full restoration costs £100k plus so it’s better to start with a wreck (if you can find one) rather than an ok car as the costs of sorting it out will be about the same. Having said that, when they are sorted they are really great cars and wonderful to drive.
Mates rates haha. And I skimped on the carbs!
25000£‘s a couple of years ago for full engine rebuild on a -91 Turbo. 50000£ for the whole nut’n bolt job. Prices have skyrocketed since. Paid 2000£’s just for cam covers on a 993 last year. Engine out + restoration, service, engine frame, cam cover and fuel lines plus general resto job on a 964 totaled 20000£’s this year at my indie expert.
What an absolute minter! Ok, so you’re doing a bare metal re spray… but I LOVE this one. Loving the interior as well. Super job, Tom 👍👍👍
Looks great though 👌🔥. Can't wait to see it when restoration is complete
Very cool car, costs aside, the satisfaction you have comes across in this vid mate!
Lovely car Tom, your doing it in stages like most classic car owners. But then end result will Be something special and admired by many 😁👍

I´m happy to see the Porsche 912 back!!! Great video!!!
It’s getting there Tom.
I’ve got a 1973 2.4S, it needs a full restoration; sounds like I need to do some saving up.

Yes I know about the steep cost of restoring a vehicle. I have 2, 60's vws that I restored, and I drained my checking account on each one. and that's doing the mechanicals my self. The body work I had to farm out and man did it cost $$$$. How ever they are both beauties. But I sure love driving them it's smiles per miles sort of thing , plus the new skills that I have learned . Your interior is beautiful. Plus that vehicle will only appreciate in value as time goes on. I always wanted a 912. So good for you .
Tom
Wow mate i’ve been waiting so long to see this video on what you’ve done to this beautiful car. She is a little stunner and you know she might be costing you at the moment but in the long run she will come up trumps great video Tom love the car mate can’t wait to see the very end result thanks mate😊😊😊😊
It's a beaut Tom,hopefully the prices will soar in the near future for this classic Porsche!🤔💪👍💪🤔
Cost a lot, but its a reminder of your classic and modern classics journey! Well worth it imo
It's cost a lot and will cost more but it's my favourite of all your cars, past and present and I don't say that lightly. It's the perfect classic in looks, style and colour. Screams Steve McQueen and coolness. I'd love this to be a permanent member of the garage.
This is why I watch your channel - it’s utterly gorgeous 😍
If you have the stomach for it I would recommend the Wilhoit 2.2 engine conversion package. Not cheap but if your looking for fun and fast driving 171hp and 171ftlbs torque no problem. Purchase online his package and your mechanic can build. Worth it! Watch his videos with his shop manager Chris’s 912 conversion.
An upload by TGE on my bday. Couldn't get better than this lad 💪💯
Happy birthday Jake
Cool car and progress!
Really nice sunglasses! I had an Irish green LWB 912, but sold it to fund the restoration of my 1970 RHD 911E.
What a lovely car, another top notch resto vid
Absolutely love it. Such a beautiful car

Hello, your 912 has come a long way and is looking great.
You mentioned a flat spot (around 11:22), I am not surprised since your vacuum advance on the distributor is not connected, try hooking that up and making sure your ignition timing is up to spec, it will make it much more fun to drive.
That’s the coolest car in your garage 👍 love it!
Great review 👏
Love the content
Loved the car mate...
Thank you!
Guessing these videos do poo views but this is the sort of car ownership story/journey I love to follow.
The modern stuff is cool but this pulls on the heart strings. Would genuinely be sad if you ever sold this.
Man it sounds good ! I want an old Porsche now
The interior looks so good
Yet to watch, Tom, but worth every penny, no matter what it came to. Good on you! 👊
Where did you get your interior?
Tom that car is Uber cool really looking good👍🏼
Just absolutely stunning! I absolutely absolutely adore this car! It’s one of my favourite cars you have bought. I’m glad you have kept it still looking vintage but new at the same time. They have done a incredible job!
Also love the filming angles.
Great video Tom thanks for the content 👍 QQ: are you considering the new aventador replacement?
Quite possibly! Will probably have to for the channel 😂
@@TGE haha its a hard life eh 🤣
Love the colour of the dials, that old luminous turquoise/ mint. Might wanna just run a Geiger counter over the dash just to make sure you don’t start glowing in the dark, lol! (Joking)
Its the booger Porsche, love it though. Green is unlucky on cars 🙈😬💙. Great vid Tom ✌️
I would just drive it and enjoy what you have already put in and done to it. Let the next owner restore it to the final restoration stage. Hope to see more videos of this gorgeous car!
love it, lovely thing
Nothing better than a freshly built air cooled flat 4 !
'Loads of money thrown in, still looks the same'
W123 Benz owner here and my lord, can I relate 🤣. I also intend to get the car resprayed in areas towards the end of the summer and taking care of rust spots. I've already spent 4 figures getting mechanical bits underneath sorted out (new fuel system just last week) and she's still not perfect!
For anyone reading: the thing is with classic cars, you have to apply a totally different mindset to your average modern tech can. Unless you're a professional restorer and have loads of ££, you can never really call them 'finished' because there's always something that'll need doing next. The truth is while there's less to go wrong compared to a modern car, the bits that do go wrong are often always age-related. And for myself who daily drives my classic, I've come to the realisation that it may not be worth getting it to a perfect show-winner stage if it's going to be used most of the time!
Out of all your videos Tom, the 912 stuff is my favourite - maybe because they're the ones that I can relate to the most... would love a classic Porsche someday and I agree with getting one that's already had work done to it.
Best wishes, Aaron.
Tom has anyone ever told you that you look like the late great Oliver Reed ? I’ve been watching a of of his material on RUclips recently. Oh and the 912 is looking mint incidentally 👌
Ahhh. Glad the 912 is back! You’ve invested the money now, just do it the once and do it well. Enjoy her!
Awesome car
Done a fantastic job so far 👍😊
Thank you!
A working floor lad...🤣🤣🤣
Always a good idea, Great stuff.
Your love for classic cars made me admire them, keep inspiring people Tom!
Tudor Black Bay P01? Very nice!! 👏👏
Left hand drive only ?
Underneath it all is a very well (over) engineered car with bags of style and character. I'm disturbingly excited when I see a video come up with that little green car in the thumbnail. Aside from the obvious pleasure the car gives, you can also boast of your green credentials (what could be more environmentally friendly than keeping old cars going and not buying new EVs). Looking forward to more content with this car.
Which number (kunstharzlack is stated in the door jamb? Maybe 68-6606 XXX?? What year is your 912?
1966!
@@TGEthen your tag plate in the door jamb isnt correct. If the number starts with 68-6606
Great vid - I think the 912 had chrome hubcaps originally
All good’n fun with these old cars. I’ve done 1 nut and bolt and 2 restos myself of air cooled Porsches and after living with them over the years one just realize you never, ever can kick back and say “job done”. There’s ALWAYS the odd thing that can go wrong and when out driving them, you’re ALWAYS looking for new things and sounds that hasn’t been there before. Luckily in comparison to a 98-08 911, nothing will grenade overnight as can happen with 996’s and 997.1’s. Things always evolve slowly over time. I actually think I’d be better off taking the 964 instead of the 2020 Taycan if I were to drive around the globe. Not to mention having to look for a bloody power outlet every 200 miles.
Very nice motor
Simply beautiful….money very well spent imo
In case you don't know, you are missing a vacuum pipe to the distributor. Bit of a strange one as I don't think that's the right distributor for a '66 either and it appears to be fitted in the wrong orientation too. Might be a good idea to get the timing checked out properly before you start making adjustments to the carbs. Hope this helps!
Yep! I’ll prob sort with carbs. Not urgent. Timing is fine though!
@@TGE Cool. Good work so far. Keep it going with the 912 and other classic content!
Wrist check Tom wrist check
Looks like a P01…🤷🏻♂️
Feel your pain driving in London, So many bellends. Chin up though, lots of beautiful countryside to enjoy mostly bellend free. The west coast of Scotland is awesome.
912 is looking great, but if the engine is standard, where is the vacuum hose to the distributor? it might have some effect on your flat spotting.
Being sorted when carbs go in!
nice
What brand are the sunglasses?😎
Persol! Folding something
Have the gear knob engraved, old style design. Love from South Africa Cape town
Loving the watch mate, hoping to get one in a few months. My local AD thinks they may be discontinued soon, what do you think?
Have been a really bad seller so I wouldn’t be surprised! Don’t buy it to make money though.
@@TGE god no! I’ve never sold a watch in my life. I don’t know why I like it so much, it catches my eye like no other Tudor!
Sorry, you can't beat a list classic 👌 you'll get the 💰 back in fun and appreciation 🤩 well saved Mr T 👌
Did you notice that the vacuum advance on the distributor isn't connected?
I know & it’s fine - but I don’t know why 😂
You still have the 996?
Bless up. London is hell
It's a beauty!! Just needs NOS :)
coolest car u own
Hi Tom, classy 912 , any c4s content coming soon ?
I need to get it out of storage and MOT it! Then yes!
Was expecting you to jump out and have a tear up with the van driver!
Exhaust flames weeee. Worth all the costs in the world
This car is chaos!
I didn’t know you could get a black strap on the P01 😍
I bought it online 3rd party. Tropical vintage style. Easy.
More 912 and 996 action Tom.
You can churn cash with some other videos 😆
You need a set of maxilite Fuchs ( high quality replica wheels)
I'd say its money well spent, car will go up in price and people want older cars with amazing restorations but I'd do the same. I actual have to have a new oil pump fitted on my Bmw and we all know how expensive that is. German cars are money pits but worth it.
Plot twist: was just beeping cus he was a subscriber
I wonder what Porsche Classic factory would charge for their restoration :-o
Great video. Thanks for sharing your 912 story! Our dad had a pretty pristine 1967 912... he was so proud of it... his pride and joy for sure. Sadly he passed away a little over a year ago, so sis and I eventually made the tough decision to pass it along (we sold it on BaT) to another car enthusiast who would love it as much as he did. But before we said goodbye, we made a video documenting his story... and that made us feel better... what a fun car and sorely missed!
I would look at it ..............as cost per drive. ie 60k div by 10 drives = $6,000. So the more you drive it the cheaper it gets. :D
🤘😎🤘
Miss the 996!
I’ve still got it! 😂
Mike Brewer and Edd China has joined the chat 😄😄
my fren if you can confirm that there's no ULEZ on this, im getting one asap
No ULEZ! Confirmed!!!
@@TGE I'M ON IT.
@@STRmw2 I have one for sale
@@justinlong2654 I’ll need to sort out selling my GTS! Where is yours listed?
It'll be well worth your botty to get savaged Tom, for a full bare metal job!! She's a lovely lovely classic Sir and she'll look absolutely epic when done! 👍
Those are the wrong lug nuts for Fuchs, you need the aluminum ones.
Double the clutch and put it in 2nd gear, then back into 1st gear. 😀
london is no different to anywhere boy post covid everyone who is in a rush is a c-word. world we live in. car is mega who needs 750ph in a 70mph speed limited country. all about the fun of driving. makes us petrol heads
could the van driver have beeped because you accidentally put it in reverse when messing with the gears? the car does look amazing
Can’t find reverse by accident!
The only way that Porsche could be any prettier, is if it was burgundy instead of green
