    This is one of those videos that I don't think the average person can quite appreciate. Complete removal of an entire drivetrain almost in less than 40 minutes with zero cussing. Unreal.

      At least he has a lift and plenty of room getting to bolts. I did an Audi A4 Quattro 1.8t on jack stands converting it from an automatic to a manual. The auto is a difficult beast to get out since the AWD is build into it so no separate transfer case. Very wide transmission you have to pivot sideways to get out because of the front CV axle flanges that sick out.

    I just take the bracket loose on the t. case instead of cutting the tie downs. This must be a 2500 series going by the exhaust setup. A bit easier on a 1500. The PB really does help. Spray before you start and by the time you get to the exhaust bolts they should be good. You'll lose some time if have the rear shaft that has to be wrenched out. Good job man.

I have a '17 2500hd 6.0 with 47,000 miles that I rely heavily upon for plowing snow. I've attained a heavy duty converter from B&I and I'm going to swap it out before this coming plow season.

    • @ltstransmissionhowto5158
      @ltstransmissionhowto5158  2 года назад +1

      I believe the 6L90 is a little longer. Don’t quote me on that because I’m not 100% sure. The issues that the 6L80 has the 6L90 has too. If you could get the 6L80 with a few of the upgrades it would be great. The 1-2-3-4 and 3-5-rev drum has a weak spot. An upgraded one has a better weld. There’s a piston that tends to crack, sonnax has and updated one. Also try to get a HD converter. They have a thicker cutch and a thicker backing plate.
      The 6L90 is not as big a difference from the 6L80 that 4L60 is from the 4L80
