I find him meh as a comedian but he's an interesting dude. I was expecting the usual "let's complain about cancel culture shit" but he's got more going on
He also openly pushed for vaccines in his act so F*** J**** C*** all over the world. I don't care if Joe Rogan or Queen Elizabeth invites him. Oh, wait what? She dead? My bad.
He also openly pushed for vaccines in his act so F*** J** C*** all over the world. I don't care if Joe Rogan or Queen Elizabeth invites him. Oh, wait what? She dead? My bad.
Sorry fam, but active vaccine mandate proponents on your pod are not on my list. Your guest pushed for mandates actively in his act. Where I am from we say "You know what to do with the scum". Take care too. I don't care how many great movies Polanski made.
Jimmy Carr is a hero of mine and an absolute universal comedy legend. No one on earth eviscerates hecklers like this guy. Hearing him in this interview was incredibly refreshing to know that he's the exact same person on stage that he is off-stage. The evergreen and hilarious Santino is also ascending the ranks as one the premiere podcast interviewers. Pure joy to watch. Thanks for this.
To see Frankie Boyle chatting with Bill Burr would be hilarious. Both funny, both vulgar, both close to the bone and both ginger. A Scotsman and a Bostonian both at it would be a joy to listen in on.
The brown m&m story actually first came about from van halen, they played lots of school gyms in the early days and their stage show weighed a lot and stages collapsed under the weight. The request for the brown m and ms was about half down the rider list and below that was the list of things needed to reinforce the stage so if the M&Ms were not separated then the band knew that the stage was not set up right
I also thought it was a Van Halen story. Maybe Bon Jovi picked it up as well or maybe Jimmy just got that fact wrong. Either way the point remains the same and was clever move on the part of the band.
The wild thing about Carr is he always gives insights into the art that no one else does. He has a unique brain that is fascinating and thoughtful differently then others yet relatable, much like his comedy. A real pleasure!
I first saw a short of this interview, and because I had never seen Jimmy on an American podcast, I thought the short was just a clever bit of editing at first. I'm glad it's actually a full legit conversation, Jimmy is one of a handful of British comedians who can hold their own in the american scene.
I love the way Andrew is able to really connect with people from all over and I think a lot of has to do with his ability to notice cultures and customs (and do very good accents - to me it shows how much he takes in).
This is a thing with Jimmy too. He's well respected amongst comedians- he's been doing it for decades and is an excellent writer but he gets along with so many of the comedians of the UK because that's his job- hosting multiple panel shows packed with the UKs best comedians.
stop it ,its not like he has regular people on here lol he has comedians and artist theres enough to talk about one and the same with his guest. it's not hard to relate and start and hold conversation.
Fr Jimmy is probably the single most consistent comic I've ever come across. He never does that Chappelle thing where you sit there for 20 minutes of drawn out storytelling to get to one half decent punchline: he just keeps the jokes rolling the whole time and they're consistently high quality
He also openly pushed for vaccines in his act so F*** J***** C*** all over the world. I don't care if Joe Rogan or Queen Elizabeth invites him. Oh, wait what? She dead? My bad.
Jimmy is a true comedy legend that probably goes quite unnoticed in the US. The man works his arse off, I went to see him near where I live in the UK and he did 3 hours. Brilliant he was.
I'd say fans of comedy at least know of him. Around the south, from my anecdotal experience , we consider him that classy british fella that will tear into a crowd's ass like tissue paper. I love it.
Jimmy Carr Superstar!!! He's dead on about how trying standup enriches your experience of intaking comedy. It's impossible to understand until you do it. Looks so simple but holy hell it is not - even if you've been cracking people up your whole life. Endless respect for the great comics with big hearts like these two ❤❤
As a brit this was great to hear these 2 together... Andrew is sooo dry and the best when doing podcasts.... Jimmy is a great professional and amazing what he does but Mr santino is hugely underated and him and Bobby are a perfect marriage..thank you guys xxx
I never comment on anything but you seriously need Jimmy on an episode of Bad Friends! His crowd-work and ability to put people down would be amazing in a room with Bobby!
This is by far your best episode & or guest yet!! Only thing I could even start to complain about is I wish it was longer. I hope he comes back for another episode.
Wow wow wow this episode is pure fire absolutely incredibly interesting.. its awesome to hear jimmy just talk ... hes really a extremely intelligent man. And santino is on the same level... this has been the best podcast iv heard and watched this year so far ... keep up the fantastic work santino ......this was so cool and interesting to watch thankyou.......
Jimmy is a savage!! Love to see this. So many badass British comedians they just have a different vibe. Also their TV shows (called panel shows) are fantastic and HILARIOUS! Would I lie to you, cats does countdown, are the first I fell into but there’s a ton. All of Jimmy’s Netflix specials are awesome too. You’ll have to pause the show to laugh hahah Enjoy!
Same here. Since Bobby doesn't do specials & he's been concentrating on his sobriety I didn't think this Irish-British legend would think much about Bobby. So when Carr mentioned Bobby a couple of times I was in shock then laughing.
Jimmy Carr has said something like :"Being the hardest working comedian is like being the best looking guy at the burn-unit." He is fantastic, thanx Andrew for having him.
Fantastic video! Btw, It wasn't just just bootleggers in the South that created the need for muscle cars, my great grandfather was a bootlegger who would run liquor out of Canada into CT My dad said he and his brother were always tinkering with their cars to make them go faster.
Jimmy is so chill in this, I was working one day and bumped into him on my lunch break in a charity shop, when he was doing a local show just reading a book casually 🥰
Looooooove this episode. (and for once no discussion about peeners). Andrew does it all. And he’s humble enough to learn and take something from every guest, instead of being arrogant and thinking he’s the smartest man in the room. Damn, is he funny. 👍🏽❤️💯
Belgium here, we've known of Jimmy Carr ever since he started on British TV. But I've gotta give it to you, Andrew, you really succeeded to reveal the most authentic Jimmy out of all the other podcasts he has been on. Must have been the combination of great whiskey and that ginger sparkle. ❤
SO awesome to see this side of Jimmy. About a month ago youtube started feeding me full episodes of The Big Fat Quiz of Everything & I have been hooked ever since. Highly suggest if anyone's looking for some quick witted laughs from across the pond. British TV seems pretty awesome i'm not sure how we haven't stolen it already here in the states. My only wish is for there to be more episodes i'm getting through them too quickly.
Great pod, there is one thing I think Jimmy is wrong about, he said he is charismatic and devoid of charm but I feel like it's his charm that let's crowds feel instantly comfortable with some of his darker material. This also comes through in every interview/long-form conversation I've seen with him on RUclips. Diary of a CEO comes to mind.

Jimmy Carr is one of the best podcast guests. Would love to see him make the rounds more often.
An intimidatingly guest, Santino didn't get the joke at 13:20, he had a fake laugh after it

Just so you know Jimmy is one of the hardest working comics in the UK, and is constantly touring even when successful.
And he’s basically the face of comedy quiz shows for us (the UK). God knows how many he’s done now, must be a dozen different shows
I actually never liked him up until now. Going back in my morals. Just never liked him but I’m glad to be proven wrong. He seems so genuine
He also openly pushed for vaccines in his act so F*** J**** C*** all over the world. I don't care if Joe Rogan or Queen Elizabeth invites him. Oh, wait what? She dead? My bad.

Jimmy Jimmy Jimmy Carr! Oh, I thought it's Jimmy Dore.
Whiskey ginger could only afford an hour 🤣. Great pod tho. I was excited to see him on.
It's almost inspiring how sociable Andrew is
Why? This was like an AI amalgamation of every comedian’s podcast. No new ideas, same tropes, utterly mindless ego-wanking of their career 🥱 🥱 🥱
This is one of the best episodes ever. I love Jimmy Carr. What a great convo
The level of people Santino seems to be able to ‘hang out’ with is nuts
We’re gonna hear it from Bobby for sure 😂
Mr Hollywood for sure

These guys hit the ground running and just didn't let up the whole show. Just naturally flowing conversation that's consistently engaging.

jimmy carr is so incredible. best episode ive seen. a little funny, a little serious, a little slow, a little rapid. yall killed this!
i think this is the first time i've ever seen Jimmy on a podcast. Love all the panel/comedy shows he does in the UK, his standup is great too.
He did an episode with Happy Hour and Have a Word Podcast. Both well worth a watch
He was also on "Diary of a CEO" which was funny and sad and just brilliant. Jimmy is a really insightful guy

It's a nice surprise to realise Jimmy is so popular and appreciated around the world, I genuinely thought he was mainly known in the UK
Yeah same man, would love to see him on YMH.
I love Jimmy Carr, his humor is my wheelhouse
He sold out 20,000 seats for three nights running in Perth, Western Australia. I'm not sure how many bands could do that.
Jimmy is leagues better than most of the comedians that do podcasts lol
Wish Jimmy was on more pods
