Jimmy Carr was the best "working on bits" guest I've heard. Really quick wits, really thinking hard about how the joke should work, and genuinely useful advice. Also love how on Sam's bit he pointed out how he doesn't think he helped at all

Jimmy is a great guest, coming with real enthusiasm and a great vibe. But him giving mark absolutely nothing after every joke has me cracking up 😭 some of these quips are gold and Jimmy gives them a few beats and moves on without so much as an exhale

@@Humma_Kavulaeh, he laughed at the “that’s a lot of feces”, but still, Jimmy has done thousands of hours on panel shows where everyone is constantly looking for the funniest joke. Podcast settings are more conversational so it’s easy mode for him.
I noticed that too! Lol. Mark shoots and fails each time. I don't think Jimmy laughed at one joke. But Jimmy does seems like a robot! Lol.😂

The segment where they analyze bits they're working on was gold, you never see comics really break down their bits like that and work on them in real time, awesome.
Jimmy Carr telling Sam to do that joke about how he's running for office in the Middle East was a god send! I saw Sam in Sydney 2 days ago and he did that bit. IT KILLED.

I watch this podcast occasionally and Sam has never made me laugh once, I checked out his stand up and it's all pretty vanilla.

Mark relentlessly pursuing a laugh is one of the best things to watch. He’s the archetype for learning to just go for it and not being scared what other people might think
For anyone that truly appreciates comedy, and the art of stand up, this is one of the best podcasts I've listened to in some time. Thank you all for all the insight, and a peek behind the curtain of your wonderful art form.

Got the Bodega flowin tonight. Fresh off of seeing Phil Hanley at the Den this past Friday. What a treat. My wife and I were front row center and immediately got the crowd work our way. Made me the heel for the rest of the show and swooned over my wife. It was great. He even brought her on stage for his final bit. Then he came out between shows for pictures and meet and greet. Said she did awesome. What a guy.
I could watch this for hours. Please have Jimmy on again.

Oh my lord I'm so friggin excited to listen to this I almost wanna save it for my work day tomorrow. But I won't be able to. Jimmy Carr has been hitting all the pod's lately and I've loved every episode he's been on - so god damn charming and funny.

Honestly, Jimmy Carr is such a class act... One of the greatest comedians of all time, carries himself with such respect and dignity. Notice how hard it is to get a laugh out of him!
He also doesn't have use the crutch of Alcohol like these two. He uses his intelligence and educated upbringing.

It’s great to see that Jimmy is one of the boys and they’re all friends even though he’s way more famouser. What a bloody good guy.
I feel like they're at a similar level of fame, just Jimmy has been there longer. Like, all theaters he mentioned, they also have played, so they have similar sized audiences. They're both at the level of comedy fans know them plus some non-comedy fans are like 'oh, I've seen that guy', like that level. Jimmy maybe a little bit more but they're in the same tier basically.
I dunno, he didn't really gel with Sam and Mark which was a shame

@@paddydemps2291 I just felt that Jimmy wasn't very impressed with what they brought to the table. I could be wrong. He just wasn't finding mark very funny it seemed, probably almost thought he was annoying at times. Which sucks cause I like all 3 of them and was looking forward to this pod. It wasn't totally bad, but they definitely didn't click like Jim Jeffries episode
