- I just picked up this handy rechargeable selfie stick by Telesin and figured it will be a good opportunity to make a review and compare it with the GoPro Volta. So far, I am really liking the new selfie stick but it does get a bit heavy at times. Please watch the full video and let me know which charging grip will you get

Insta360 X3 - my Telesin just arrived & I can confirm the entire stick & charge cable are hidden in the stitch line. It's relatively heavy but I intend to use it on a tripod instead of having to rig up a separate battery pack.
Your video is the reason I bought the Telesin 1000, paid € 54,=. I also have the Volta, but I film with two Hero 9. The Volta is easy to put down on a bench to film myself cycling or riding by on my motorcycle. I'm going to experiment with the Telesin 1000 to film in the media mod without a battery, then it gets hot less quickly, put it in the inner pocket and extend the c-cable.
Yeah let me know how it turns out! If you are riding, the wind should provide sufficient cooling 🪭 for the go to not overheat hopefully.

The upsise of being in Yosemite in the rain, is you're dealing with a lot less people. If it's not raining too hard and you can protect your gear it is sort of worth going in inclement weather. Plus those conditions can give you some interesting mood to your photos. I live a few hours a way and I much prefer days that are not clear skies and warm.
And thanks for pointing out the issue with the cable length. I use a vlog cage that holds the old mic adapter (I prefer that over the media mod) and that means the cable needs to stretch to the top. I wonder if I can get a small extension cable....
@kneepayne yes you can get a USB c female to usbc male short extension cord. Make sure it’s fast charge compatible!

Please help. When i add Media mod in my GoPro hero 10 and remove battery and connect with telesin selfie stick. It's shows "your GoPro will be power off insert a battery" please tell me how can i use without battery in media mod with telesin selfie stick.
Great review! Actually, I just ordered this product today. The GoPro Volta is nice, but it's a bit pricey and the 4900mAh capacity may not be sufficient for my needs. I've been looking for a battery tripod like this for a while. I considered buying the ULANZI BG4 before, but it seems that it doesn't support powering the GoPro 11 separately without a battery, and it doesn't have a power switch. This tripod looks a bit big, but I think many of its designs are excellent, especially the USB cable located at the very top, which won't affect the extension and looks very clean. In addition, Telesin has another selfie stick with a Bluetooth remote control that also supports GoPro. It would be great if they could integrate that Bluetooth remote control into this product as well.
Yeah what you said echos my points in my review as well. I asked Telesin on Instagram to make it slight smaller with same batt capacity and with remote. They said they heard me lol 😆

🙏 thanks yeah it will fit the hard case and the tripod I got is just a cheap tripod I got on Amazon. I would recommend getting a more robust one like a metal one

Its just some random cheap tripod I found laying around. You can get any with a wide base and 1/4 inch 20 thread

Thanks buddy. Yeah I am just using some cheap ulanzi mini tripod. It wobbles a bit I recommend getting a larger one with a slightly bigger footprint

I think I tried it with my x1 and I see the handle from a certain angle you might need to play around with it
@@ToasterVentura Okay…that issue might get resolved if I hold the stick handle from little upwards…but my main concern is whether that spiral shape cable arrangement (for charging the camera) at the top corner of the stick might ruin the output image/video by getting visible…Was that spiral cable visible in your x1 output image/video during post production/editing?
Oh you can try a 2 inch USB c extension cord to give you more flexibility to hide the cable between two lenses. You might need to do pig tail cable side down and no cable side facing up so at least it wont ruin the shot when you edit in post for selfie angles

That you need to buy separately but it’s just one of my many cheap gimbal tripod base. You can find them for like 5-10$$ on Amazon

awesome video. I have a question. You mentioned that the Telesin can power the gopro at 18W without a battery inside the gopro (which is great for lessening the heat inside), but you wouldn't recommend it with respect to footage. Were you referring to footage quality of the gopro when powered by the selfie stick alone or were you just saying that having an extra battery can come in handy to record more footage? Thanks!
Thanks for watching, what I meant is that if you unplug the GoPro while you are recording you could lose all the footage together.

in keeping the battery inside and having the power bank connected, would you say that the battery would be constantly used by the gopro and also charged by the power bank at the same time, therefore producing more heat?
I think it will prioritize on the selfie stick battery first and once thats drained then the gopro batt. It will constantly top off the batt but I would imagine there will be more heat generated from the battery than without. Hope this makes sense
Hi, you mentioned that this can power the Gopro without the battery in? I tried to with this and my Gopro 11 and got a message saying that it couldn't and needed something that was "5A/2V" or something like that? Do you know how I can use this Telesin power grip with my Gopro 11 without the battery and it work?
I saw this and literally tested this right now and it worked for me no issue. It powered my gopro 11 shooting 5.7k at 30p. And my power bank only has 2 bars battery left.

Try this if you have android phone plug in the usbc and it should say fast charging on the screen. That will be indicator that it's more than 5v 2A
@@ToasterVentura I have Iphone. But I tested this today and it was spotty. I fiddled around the the connector port (pressing it in harder or lighter) and 3 out of 7 times it worked, then the other times it said "not enough power, 5v/2a need to power without battery. And at 4k 60fps it turned of due to heat after about 18 minutes
Something seems odd and I suspect it is the connector or the cable having issues. Can you return or exchange it?

Do you need charging? If not just get the regular monopod. The charger adds quite a bit of weight to your kit. Its a lot lighter to carry spare battery my friend

Any idea of the Telesin 10000 'load capacity'? i.e. would you trust it with one of your spendier heavier cameras (in a wind storm)?
I have been using a pair of Insta360 Power Selfie Sticks and both seem a bit wobbly at the top.
I use the heavier, 1/2 pound, Insta360 ONE RS 1-Inch 360 Edition Camera.
I like to use them out the car window at up to 50mph and I get a bit nervous about the flexing and stressing near the top.
Also, have you tried testing it with a more power hungry camera? The Insta360 Power Selfie Stick CANNOT keep up with the demands of a QooCam 8k. The 18watts of the Telesin 10000 seems like it may do the job?

1. Weight capacity I can't find official data on it but I did slap on my Sony ZV1 with a cage and a wide-angle lens on the selfie stick. Based on my testing I am seeing minimal wobbling and it appears pretty solid. So you should be good to go there.
2. In regards to battery voltage, it is strong enough to power my GoPro with a media mod on shooting at 5K 60 frames per second. So I think the 18 watts charging should be sufficient to power battery hungry devices. I hope this helps my friend thanks for subscribing.

How heavy is the telesin stick?
Feels kinda heavy maybe like 3-4 GoPro 12s or two phone’s maybe?

Yes it does! It is just a usb c charger so it can even charge your android phone too
Do you know how it works in the cold? Will it drain quickly?
When I tested it in Yosemite it was near freezing temp and was fine. Now to be fair, I go from my car to outside filming most of the time and no prolong cold exposure with the battery bank.
Just like any battery bank when it's super cold you can expect the battery life to decrease significantly.

One way to test it is take out your gp battery and see if it will power up just using usbc charger. The telesin is at least 5v so it should work just fine on most gopros
