    Before you speak Think!
    T- is it true?

    I- is it inspiring?
    N- is it necessary?
    K- is it kind?

It is nobody's business how many oats you need and use. I think we need to bring back the term, "mind your own business!" Enjoy whatever oats you buy and use. Be a good steward of what you buy and use. And forget what everone else is saying. I think your recipes are great. I am going to try them!

I'm sorry you feel like you have to defend yourself. You've explained so many times how hard it is to find some of these things in Alaska. You do what you need to do to feed your family. Most of us have seen what is coming and are trying to fill our pantry. Loved this, I'm the only one here that likes oatmeal so I can't really justify more than the big tub I get lol. It all looked so good to me. 💛

For those of us that buy in bulk, a few times of the year, to save money and time, we get it. No explanation necessary. Frugal scratch meal preppers, all do this. We don't shop weekly, and sometimes not even monthly. We buy what we use, and we use it over months and we know how to cook, and we take pride in making healthy meals for our family. Fabulous video! Great recipes.

I have to mention the superior quality of Azure rolled oats and every single product I've purchased from them. I make mine 1 cup at a time but definitely going to try making some ahead. I use a mixture of pumpkin seeds and sunflower seeds and also dried chopped dates, just for a couple of other ideas. There is no way you could even find anything in the store that would equal what you made yourself today. I've been ordering small amounts of things like the chia and flax seeds, so I'm going to try that too. There are only 2 in my house now and I go through 25lbs of oats pretty quickly, maybe 6 months at the most. I encourage everyone to try this, it's one of those things that you'll say "Where have you been all of my life?" No comparison to the packets. Thanks for all of the combination ideas. I appreciate you!

I agree with other commenters that you shouldn’t have to defend the fact that your intelligent, love your family and have an understanding of what life changes are coming. I enjoy watching and learning from you and other homesteaders and feel bad that these virtue signalers 🙄 give you a hard time. Understand they are the minority and need to learn some of life’s hard lessons.

Life happens, such as: job loss, illness and so on. All things that have affected my family in years past. Those life lessons have taught me to keep a pantry to feed everyone for 1 year and yeah, I rotate through it as well. Does that make me a hoarder or a planner? There will always be mouth runners, no matter how many times you try to explain this. I view people from the prospective of, does their opinions pay my bills or if I had a problem? Would they be on my list to seek out for advice? Probably not. I am sorry you feel the need to justify your life decisions, but from this Subscriber... I'm here for your journey, not to tell you your business. I think most of us feel that way. So next time? Buy a 100 lbs. of oats😀

Please don’t feel you have to justify your stock and taking care of your family to anyone. Everyone is at different places on their journey to being able to care for their families, especially in tough times. Those that are just awakening to how no one is coming to save them from tough times are trying to catch up and are realizing the sense of panic starting to set in their stomach. Some will lash out and blame others for their not recognizing what’s happening around them, but most will look for others like yourself who have already figured out what we ALL should be doing for our families, looking to learn❤️🙏🏼🇺🇸

So cool!!! I’ve never seen baked oatmeal with pumpkin. It looks and sounds delicious! Great job! I use oatmeal, flax seed and chia seeds in what I call applesauce bread. I adapted it from an old family recipe that used crud I and applesauce. I have reduced the oil and use coconut oil in its place and have increased the amount of applesauce. It is so delicious and filling! I have to double or quadruple it when I make it because it goes so fast. Lol. Keep up what you are doing! You are so inspiring and a breath of fresh air and positivity in a world that seems to be getting darker by the day. God bless!

I see so many homesteaders and peppers on youtube being attacked for having backups and stockpiles. My parents were raised during the depression and we always had a stocked pantry and stockpile because they remembered not having enough food to eat. I think this is only common sense and forward looking. The people who criticize are the ones who will be begging for help during the next pandemic, economic downturn, etc.

My hubby and I are both low carbing it [because of Diabetes], so I make up special "n'oatmeal" packets, using almond flour, ground flax, and other grain-free fillers. I once saw a pre-made box of the type of oatmeal I make, and was shocked to see it was upwards of $7-ish...it's probably more by now! What a blessing it is to know how to cook, otherwise we wouldn't be able to enjoy many of our favorite foods. Just found your channel today and subbed right away! Great video : )

I’m guessing coarse maybe? World be alike. The quick cook here are super broken down nearly powder. And they become mush very quickly. It truly does not matter what oat you use. It’s a texture thing as to what you like to eat.

You did a video about stocking the pantry first with herbs and spices. It really resonates with me. You always hear that spices go bad quick so only buy a little at a time but I thought if you store it correctly you should be ok so I bought 500g bags (uk we don’t have anything like azure) I’ve then to go on to buy a couple of pounds of different types of dried beans as I really understood what you were saying about it’s the herbs and spices that turn a very basic item into something delicious. In times of difficulties you can still eat like kings of you have the ingredients to elevate the ordinary to the extraordinary. Thank you

Your gonna laugh, I also order from Azure and made sure I got all the ingredients for the “instant” oatmeal packets this past month and made up a handful of breakfast oatmeal. It is seriously SO GOOD that I look at those packets on the counter and can hardly wait for breakfast to roll around every day. I have added a spoonful of either collagen or protein powder to mine to give me a little more protein in the morning but the plain with blueberry is my favorite so far.

It's just me, but I'm going to make a scaled down volume of these.
Just a note on the granola, if you are like me and only use a little at a time you can store the rest in the freezer; keeps the oils in the nuts and the coconut oil from going rancid.
I make my own greek yogurt plain in the crockpot, have it all week in the fridge. I like adding granola to it for breakfast or a late night snack too.
    Thanks for recipes.
I'm a firm believer that recipes are the true gold we pass to each other!

Thank you Jessica! I used to make a cake with leftover cooked oatmeal haven’t made in a long time but it’s very good and moist. Those little oatmeal packs are a joke real oatmeal is like having an oatmeal cookie 🎉😊 stay safe !

I made instant oat packets when I was nursing but haven’t since then. Maybe I should get to it again! One of my kids is all about oatmeal and the other isn’t, so I could easily make one portion for him that way 😊

Great video with some great ideas. Whenever you share your life openly like this the keyboard warriors come out to play. Anyone who is paying attention would admire your well thought out pantry with your large family in Alaska heading into the winter months.

You should skip the bowl and put it all together in the bag... It would be easier ❤️🥰

I do these, I also add hemp hearts for added protein and healthy omega fats . Usually we stick with adding cinnamon, pimpkin spice or applie pie spice, raisins, nuts, dehydrated fruit. sometimes a splash of maple syrup after it's all heated

You made the following flavors: Plain, peaches & cream, apple cinnamon raisin, cranberry almond, dark chocolate cherry walnut, blueberry & cream.
At 12 packs each that is 72 packs of "instant" oatmeal. That's amazing!

Thank you for the instant oatmeal recipes. I didn’t realize you could do that. I’m like you I don’t care for texture of instant. I will be doing this as a alternative. Love your content. Have a blessed day!

    So incredible!!
I am going to make instant oatmeals with protein, baked oatmeal and granola!!
Why would I waste money on pre-packaged chemical filled products that I don’t even know where products are from (China, overseas) that are not regulated in processing.
    Keep it up! 👍👍🤤

You are on in my house everyday! I cannot wait for my first Azure order in October, because my husband and I are going to do your oatmeal packs and bake. He leaves for work at 5:00 am, so this is something he can grab and heat up at work. Thank you so much for all the time you put into doing this, you are terrific!

I've made baked oatmeal a couple of times (same recipe) and it always has an eggy sugary gloop at the bottom. Am i doing something wrong, is it a rubbish recipe or is that what baked oatmeal is like?

What oats do you use? And cut the milk in 1/2 it should cook up very much like a cake.
