    Great pantry tour. I love that you are doing this before you have a family. Most tours I see are of folks with large families, so this was great.

    Just found your channel. My kids are grtting older. 1 out of the house, 1 almost out of the house. Soon it'll be just me and my son. He does eat a lot, but I keep finding channels and recipes for a lot of food.
    Edit: if you make homemade noodles or tortillas you can add some of the tomato power with the flour and make tomato/basil tortillas/pasta. So yummy. My kids like the jalapeno tortillas I make.

      Thanks for the tip! I had never thought to do that. I will definitely try adding the tomato powder to some homemade pasta. The jalapeno tortillas sound delicious as well!

    It’s finally nice to find someone who is stocking a pantry for one person. Your pantry is amazing. I love your jams with bourbon and champagne sounds amazing. What canning book do you use? I’m just getting started in preserving food. I look forward to seeing more videos from you. Thank you.

      Thank you for your support! The boozy jams are recipes I've created. As long as the pH is high enough, jams are safe to modify once you know the science behind canning. I am working on creating a canning course and I will be making the boozy jams, with the recipes included, in an upcoming video early next year. Happy preserving!

    Your video just popped up….I’m happy it did! I too am single, but pressure can and put back. I just finished 2019 jars. I rotate thru my jars, but living alone it’s not easy moving thru all those jars, but I do. I never eat out and enjoy cooking, so I am working thru them. For anyone thinking eating 2019 pressure canned foods sounds awful….it isn’t! The foods are delicious. I subscribed bc I don’t have a family and I’m hoping you will show how you do being single. I’m in Southeast Michigan 👋🏻😊. Oh!! I too can in pint jars for me 😊. Looks like a ton, but not really….

    Your video popped up today. I am so glad to see a pantry that isn’t for a huge family; I’m a 75 year old widow who has always enjoyed gardening and canning. I’ve only been in my house for a year, and this year I started my garden. I didn’t have a lot of luck with the garden since the month of July was over 100 degrees every day! I have a few things in a fall garden, which I’ve never done before. If I were a lot younger, I would have looked for a house with more property for a small homestead when I bought my new home!

    I love pressure canned potatoes. They are very versatile, and when mashed up, great mashed potatoes. Excellent canning my dear! I hang my rings on bungee cords you. It’s a great way to store them, and it looks neat and organized. Thank you for sharing your pantry ❤ great work!

    WOW! You are so impressive! The type of product you have canned is so different from the many channels I have watched I can’t believe you’re new at this, so glad I found your channel! I laughed when you said you made separate broth for your dog because I can and freeze so much for our 2 small dogs. It’s not as expensive as you may think. I use the broth to make brown rice and supplement their kibble with vegetables. Looking forward to learning about your recipes, thanks!

    Hi I just found ur channel. Ur pantry looks amazing. I wanted to recommend a recipe for u to try with ur rosemary fig jam. We make Pan Seared Chicken in Prosciutto Fig Sauce. The recipe is from Cooking Light & it is a family favorite. The recipe calls for whole chicken breast but we like to chop the chicken first then sear it. Give it a try!

    Keep in mind that many times, your spices, like turmeric, can be added after the fact, when you are ready to prepare it to eat. Some herbs and spices will pick up very concentrated or bitter tones when processed.
    You are doing great! What a beautiful stockpile. ❤❤

    Those little packs you have in many of your dehydrated items are actually silica gel packs, which absorb moisture, rather than oxygen. 😊

    Subscribed! I've been having some health challenges too, stopped using perfumes and detergents with perfumes, conventional cleaning and hygiene products. I was already eating as organic as possible and plant based, but around 3 years ago I stopped eating gluten as well. All of these things help, but we truly need regular detoxes to maintain our health in the toxic environment we've created for ourselves. I did a medicinal plant detox a few years ago and my body recovered very quickly and in 3 months I had healed chronic disease that all but one of the doctors that I went to told me would only get worse. I am do for another one and when I have the budged I'd like to do them every other month or so. If you haven't done one yet, I highly recommend them. American Botanical Pharmacy is my preference (Dr.Schulze's 30 day detox).
    Thank you for sharing. Enjoy your life in your beautiful property with your wonderful dog!

    Did you learn to can from family?

    • @RootedforPurpose
      @RootedforPurpose  14 дней назад +1

      I did not learn to can from my family. Actually no one in my family cans or gardens. After I started getting into homesteading my grandmother shared with me that her mother was a huge gardener and canner but unfortunately I didn't get to meet her. It just goes to show that you can always teach yourself new skills. I have learned everything by reading books, watching lectures from universities that do canning and food preservation research, looking through the NCHFP website, and watching other youtubers. I am currently working on creating a canning course with everything I have learned in one easy to access place, so be sure to look out for that next year
