    What a lot of hard work went into your pantry. So rewarding!! Pantry tour videos are 1 of my favorite to watch too! I posted mine a few weeks ago. And I thought I had canned a lot, at a count just under 900 jars.
    You have so many unique canned items. It's inspiring. I also re-use store jars, its how I was brought up. My mom and grandmother did that for generations. So grateful for my Mennonite upbringing.

      Hi regional sky girl! We have absolutely tried the brussels sprouts since I made that video back in January. In fact, I think we may only have one jar left at this point we love them. They are delicious directly out of the jar just as is or even thrown in the air fryer for a few minutes to roast them so good they’re an absolute staple of our pantry at this point and our entire family love them. Here is a link for the most recent video where we use them for our Easter salad. Homestead Dinners- New ideas & Family Traditions- Beautiful Easter Meals

      Fellow PA(grew up on PA Dutch food!)canner, I started my vanilla 7/21 (bc we use vanilla & dark brown sugar in everything) using a 1/2 gallon of spiced rum. Divided that into jars, then got a case of spice jars which made great gifts for that year. We also made orange, vanilla, peppermint, cranberry & cinnamon extracts. I picked up some flip top bottles to use in the kitchen. I’m a big candy maker, having our own extracts is so nice & simple! We used EverClear then switched to vodka.

    If you find a buy on pineapple juice buy it . Then when you get do many zucchini skin it and make chunks the size of pineapple and make your pineapple. We love kabobs , stir fry, upsidedown pineapple cake, so my big thing is put them on a dehydrator band make candy do tell dry and flex then put table spoon of corn starch and one tablespoon of powdered sugar shake dump your dehydrated pineapple zucchini in shake and you have candy . Isn't it fun you can change food.

    Ooooo!!! That's a lot of hard work! I have to admit, I'm a wee jealous of your pantry, but that's my weakness and due to my own laziness, LOL. I really appreciate all of the variety. I normally just can basic meats, beans, tomatoes, potatoes, squash, etc. I haven't made a lot of variety, because I haven't wanted to make something my family wouldn't like. Your review of the different tastes, etc is really helpful. I'm looking forward to being able to watch you make all of these...especially the devil's candy, my husband would LOVE that. It is always something isn’t it? We just had to replace our dryer that quit working. Naturally it happened in the middle of winter when I can’t dry anything outside. Best of luck with your laundry!

      Thank you so much I love creating the labels. It’s one of my favorite parts of cleaning up the jars getting them on the shelves and enjoying the hard work before actually consuming it.

    I'm interested in the canning labels. How do you make those? Dumb it down, I'm a woman of a particular age and have very little computer knowledge.

      @coalcountryhomestead  Год назад +2

      Hi. I use a design template that is based online through the company Avery. They sell sheets of plain labels and then you can design them on their website and print them out on your home printer. I hope that helps. Please let me know if you have any other questions. Also Avery labels can be purchased in most office supply stores, Walmart and online.

      Hi Linda. I appreciate your comment. I have lived part of my life in the day to day and now that I have moved past that I am always willing to help where possible. Many nights you will find me running to a neighboring property to deliver some unexpected but appreciated dinner. My heart and prayers are with any and all struggling. I hope to one day do more and while I’m not spending money this month on groceries I have spent many hours to prepare, grow and preserve all of my jars. There is a lot of love on those shelves. I want to share and inspire but never brag. 🙏

      She wasn't given this food. They worked hard for many years to build this food store up. The amount of time and effort in growing, sourcing, cooking, and canning all this food is astronomical. This isn't bragging, it is showing others what you can do with time and effort. It has nothing to do with putting others down.

      I have to agree, this comment is so not necessary. She isn’t bragging at all! She’s giving a pantry tour that a lot of channels do on RUclips. She’s doing a challenge that many of us are doing on RUclips. It’s very hard work to grow your own food and can it up. She should be very proud of her work. I would be! I believe she is sharing so others can learn and get ideas.

      @Julie Knight exactly. I've never grown my own food but I started canning last July and it takes time and effort. But I'm building up my pantry so if there are hard times, we still have food.
