@TAVOTravsDIYGarage sweet thanks so much mate really it I've done mine backwards haha motor an box build now bushes an struts need some love then paint an panel keep it up mate love the vids as I can fully relate
Much easier to just go buy cheap Strut/ bump stop / boot , top mounts, you can pay $250 for a decent Strut or $400 for darn good 1 , or you can get one from ebay new for $120 , Personally i always pay around $265 /$310 for very nice strut & Polyurethane Top mounts . Ps : always replace boot ^ definitely replace bump stop.
@TAVOTravsDIYGarage Anyone who has a crack working on cars has my attention ☺️👍 And respect matey ! Especially in 2024 & Cost of living crisis ! Rebuilding a VK myself
Thanks for the videos
Thanks for watching!
Lmao what a mission on the vice 😂 I’ve decided to get someone to do the job cheers
Some good tips to apply to my VH SLE. Thanks. Now to buy that gland wrench.
It’s a life saver that gland wrench I tell ya. Still hard work though.
Im here cause iv been fighting a vl strut all day
I feel your pain my friend, I feel your pain!
Should have put a rag between vice grips and shock shaft, if the vice grips damaged anything it’ll stuff the seals in the shock
Shock were stuffed anyway.
Should have used a bit of grease on the thread for easy removal next time
Tried all that, didn’t do jack squat unfortunately, from grease to oil and all sorts of lubricant 👎
I suppose with the tight thread it just pushes it out the wat

Hi what shock absorbers do you recommend? Im replacing my VC shocks all round
I just bought whatever the brand was from Supercheap. However I did make sure to get the v8 rated ones. 👍🏻
@@TAVOTravsDIYGarage thank you kindly, did they come with the retaining nut and the washer?
@freashtoast1684 yes they did mate.
You have fitted the rubber boot the wrong way around
I thought that, but it don’t fit the other easy around up the top.

@stevewilson8752 💯 buddy, not that young anymore 😞
It would probably have been easier to buy a whole new strut mate.😂
Yep would have been 100 times easier.
Found you for some reason you disappeared.
I’m still here! Haven’t gone anywhere.
