A weird memory popped up as I watched this: when I had growing pains as a teen, my dad would stretch my legs and arms out in a kinda similar way as someone stretched on the rack. It felt amazing! Maybe the first few seconds of the rack felt nice?
Went to a wax museum a few years back where they had a section dedicated to midieval torture. There was a figure hanging backwards on a huge hook!! Talk about torture😳😳

LEFT-tenant, not LOO-tenant. There’s written evidence going back at least to the 1300’s (as writing of the time tended to be very phonetic) that it’s always been pronounced this way in English. The Americans have gone their own way on it much more recently.

The woman in the last section is Anne Askew, for those who missed it. What a gruesome fate for such an upstanding, honorable and honest woman. F
However she was not the only woman to have been tortured at the Tower and then burned at the stake. Her contemporary Margaret Cheyne suffered the same fate.
All it took to find out about that was a quick google search. Still, in every video, MM makes these silly, frivolous errors. Why? Is this just laziness or what's the issue here?
Also, I once again implore @MedievalMadness to please cite your sources for more clarity and transparency to those who want more in depth information.
RUclips as a medium would have been a chance to leave this TV-documentary-level view of the Middle Ages behind us. I guess it is still too appealing to badmouth the past in favor of the present, ogling torture while being able to claim you‘re educating yourself. Anyone with a genuine interest should be told this: There are real, well researched lectures about this very diverse era on this platform. They may not be as spectacular (missing pretty but wrongly attributed 16th-19th century imagery for example), but to a curious mind, the information gained will more than make up for it.

Another time of superficial and nonsensical false information that generates view. In the Middle Ages torture was used very hesitantly. The New Age, after the Middle Ages saw far more frequent use of this.
