Gosh Dang Boys...look at where you are and what youre doing. Hard to believe when you remember those simple videos in the garage back at the OG house. Couldn't be more impressed by all of you and everyone that helps in the background. Well done
crazy rite chasing the dream from a driveway garage after work to running and beating all the big boys
Right!!? That’s when I started watching. Bought his merch when the fist ever batch came out too. Still have that shirt. Memories mannn.
For the not knowing viewers this is an 1/8th mile. However a high three eighth mile is about 5 and a little change in the 1320. Which still means this Cummins is the fastest diesel dragster in the world.
"...a high three, eighth mile, is about..." makes it a bit more clear. Thanks, I was wondering myself until I read your comment...
@markmark2080 precisely why I wrote it. Glad to have been helpful. Thanks
@@tedsmith3061 The commas make the difference, thanks Ted, cool stuff, I went to my first drags in the early '60s, it's been amazing...
I immediately figured this was was the case and came looking for comments.
Outside of US RUclips videos I've never seen people race 1/8th mile. We only do 1/4 in Australia from what I've experienced.
@@Sparky_DI see your comments on many different videos. There's actually a bit of it around Australia. More than most local people would know. Even fans and many drivers don't know this. Unless they're in the scene or live near the locations that have said tracks.
This includes street drags such as Casterton Vic, a decades long, yearly event in one of the towns main streets. Several airstrip events around the country that aren't long enough for anything, bar an 1/8th mile track, with run off for brake or chute failure. Or the airstrip only has a decent section long enough for the 1/8th. Then there's also been insurance being too expensive to cover anything further than 1/8 mile or maybe 1000ft like top fuel now runs for safety. Which has financially forced several events to not run the full 1/4 mile.
There's purpose built, quite modern (mid to late 00s built) 1/8 mile only tracks. Such as Portland in far SW Victoria, which really annoyed me when it opened and it still does! I took my deadly, unpredictal turbo rotary Datsun 260Z (then 2j, now RB26/30) and turbo, iron lion Gemini, 383ci stroked 308 and single 76mm (now 6.2 LS twin 66mm after blowing my preferred combo of centrifugal supercharged, 100-250 shot, fully built 5.7 with accidental 500 shot jet install on dyno when looking for 50 shot jets 😢😅) cars there for the first event. All setup for a 1/4, only to find out it was an 1/8 mile track. Yes, I should have been aware, but I just never thought any club would build a fucking 1/8th, as a ground up project!!! I thought they may have just built an 1/8 and would extend to a 1/4 to make some quick money, but I was unfortunately VERY wrong.
I heard the drag club in Portland had the money to build the best quality strip. All the money and skills to build such a brilliant start line and 660ft. Someone in the club knowing or owning a local family run, road building company and they used cheap land beside the go kart club and the town rubbish dump behind it. Also close to town when there's thousands of km² of cheap, flat land. With no one living for miles, all the way to the SA boarder.. So night drags would be a noise issue FFS. Absolutely ridiculous starting from scratch and using land without enough room to have a full 1/4 mile and run off for fast cars! Especially when you could run top fuel and other classes that are mid to low 5s or under in the 1/4. Especially when the major cities Calder park dragway has been in disrepair for years now.
We are predominantly a 1/4 mile built track country, but as stated above, there are several events that are basically no prep on country town streets and airport runways. Some of these towns and runways have had 60+ft of prepped surface put down for these yearly events, but do 1/8 mile for safety, insurance etc and then there's the "head shaker" often rained out from Antarctic winds even in summer - purpose built Portland Victoria Australia 1/8th mile track that annoys me and others no end!!!
Sending good vibes to you and yours, wherever you are in this great country. Hi from the beautiful Otways national Park, just 2 valleys back from the great Ocean road. Near beautiful Jan Juc and Torquay, without the high density tourism - Bambra Vic population under 100.
Be well mate 🤙
Whoever did the welding on that exhaust is way, way, way above normal awesomeness.
Michael definitely deserves the honor of being the first person to break the record for all the countless hours he’s put in and attention to detail is spectacular, congratulations silent on getting it done I’m sure a lot of people are going to be after breaking your record/ ET good luck to all of them!!!LOL!!! Keep the awesomeness coming!!!!
You can see the passion and dedication in Greg’s face when he hugs Cordova. It’s an amazing feeling and congrats you guys! Y’all deserve it. I got chills watching this ❤
Congrats! We were next door sled pulling in 3.0 when I heard the pass. Sucks I missed watching it, but I knew I would see it in the vid.
Man that thing is violent when staging at the tree.😳 Completely worth it though for a sub-4 second pass!!😄👍👍
GREAT COMBUSTION! Not a smoke show! Gale Banks would (likely) approve!
I LOVE how they are at a drag strip but one of the mechanics drives a tiny fortwo car. In the background you can see it
Yea...its our push/pit car to move our race vehicles ... it fits in our race trailers pulled by our big bad manly diesel trucks... it also has AC....🤡
Wow. I remember my first job out of engineering school was in Columbus working for Cummins on the engine platform that you guys are using. That was 1981….and I would have never imagined the block - although very robust - would withstand the stress levels your team has demanded from it. Congrats on your project’s success as it brought a smile to my face after all these years.
Congratulations Michael and crew!! 🎊🎉🍾
Thanks for sharing!!
Talk about an epic group of friends! That’s what it’s all about!
It seems the wooly-headed gingerbeer-driver is the coolest person on the team.
I remember when the Audi R10 TDI (Turbo Direct Injection), a sports prototype designed and built by Audi in partnership with Dallara, built the Le Mans Prototype 1. At first it had so much Torque coming out of corners it was hard to handle. They proved their point and TDI in Consumer Cars was a huge success. There will always be a place for high power Diesels for certain classes of racing.
Congrats on the 3 sec. run. I kinda like the hair. Makes him look the part of the mad scientist he is.
What is so impressive is watching you over time to get to the point of this pass! The hard work, the research, the testing and everything that many don't what happens behind the scenese to pull soemthing like this off. Great job Michael and the rest of the team!
Congrats guys! 👌
Just talking to you about it sunday morning. Lol about 2:15am. I could tell how pump you guys were about it. Can’t wate for next year. With both race rigs
I like how the header matches Michael’s hair. I swear Cody was goin for that when they fabbed it up
congrats Micheal and the whole team
Outstanding job CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!
Bruh the way you got out of the dam smart car was soon smooth just watch the foot work😂 11:30
Congratulations….long time coming…keep pushing
That thing is violent in full stage damage. ButI love it guys GREAT JOB ON THE WHOLE BUILD MY FAVORITE PART OF SLED IS THE SPAGHETTI EXHAUST...
Congrats Micheal and team great stuff he'll of a pass
Congratulations on your stamp.
Y'all seem to be a solid team.
Would love to see Gale Banks react to this!
OWESOME...i love diesel and I LOVE wen It burn clean... good joob💥💥💥💥
I saw this the day after you broke the record Michael way to go very proud of you man great job guys keep up the good God bless
Beautiful machine.
He walked right in front of the camera during the run... LOL
I love that it doesn't even have a giant turbo (relatively for high HP cummins builds). Impressive as all heck with that Allison slugbox lol.
Awesome Mike great job!!!!
This is soo sick. Congrats guys. Stay safe and keep on pushing.
I love that chuckle laugh happy for you people
Congratulations guys!!!
Wow I couldn’t believe how much it shakes on the line I thought it was going to jump in the other lane lol congratulations guys that is awesome one bada** ride I’d love to drive it one time lol thanks for sharing
The shaking is due to the diesel engine torque. Where I work, we have a Bombardier MP snowcat with a 250 Cummins. It has close to 900 ft. Lbs. of torque.
Kudo's to ya on your 3+second pass!! But really.... you need to build a 2 stroke Detroit (Series 53 - V6). John Carey in his "White Lightning" RED, was running 7:21 at 187 mph, back in 1979.... with his De-stroked 6V53 Detroit Diesel, 270ci down from the stock 318ci. John told me he parked it, because it was breaking more drive-line parts, than his Three T/F's put together!! It's Still sitting up in the upper tier of his parts storage racks... complete with dust. He owns Carey's Diesel... in Leipsic, Delaware.... and I think one other location.
That’s a big hell yeah congrats guys
Best hair in the industry
Congratulations on your best run Michael and crew
Impressive! Congratulations! Well deserved. Breaking the internet with this epic 3.97... Imagine when 3.80s!!!!!
Congratulations guys 🎉🎉
Congratulations Michael and crew, amazing run can’t wait till you top it over and over.
Congrats!
I love the color change of the headers.
Congratulations Team! Michael and Cody Fisher!!! WTG!!!
The fact that it doesn’t need to be rebuilt every couple run is incredible.
Congrats guys
That thing shaking all its bones while staging is frightening!
What a monster!
🎉🎉🎉🎉 congratulations
Congratulations
Congrats Michael and the Team!!!!
Well done!!
I'm digging the com truise vibe with this music!

This a so awesome! I love all drag racing. To see a diesel go this fast in the 1/8th is ubsurd!! Way to go!!
Class act guys
Congratulations to ninja mike
Hells yeah. Congratulations guys!!!
And the worst is they don’t have to do a complete engine disassembly after every run is amazing.
Stainless diesel did a killer burn out. That was cool to see someone who was not scared to put on a show
Supercool
3’s @ 180’s = super QUIK 60’ !!!!
That’s what dragster chassis gets y’all !
Gall dang boyz, best part was Gregg’s emotion
need some rail merchandise and kids stuff little man loves the first gen and the rail
A 3 in the 1/8th….DANG !
His 60’ musta been dramatic!!
Dang that’s epic 👍
Congratulations Mike he worked real hard to get there. You guys make a good team anyway, this is six in a row Jim from Kennerdell, Pennsylvania
Great to see all that work pay off.
Good job
Mad scientist micheal
I knew semi's could pull away from a red light faster than they currently do.
Congrats on the 3s, Keep the hair Michael looks great, no matter what Gregs says LOL....
I've been waiting for this video after S&S gaves us a glimpse of your 3s sec run. Gratz guys🎉
1/8 mile 3 seconds hmmm 7 seconds 1/4 mile nice
Money is what wins races......all the hope and visualizations of winning ain't gonna happen without good engine parts
Can we appreciate the fact that this thing at full tilt hardly smokes at all. Rolling coal is a waste!
That's too cool. Congrats guys
I definitely need that engine in my 40 Series LandCruiser
Congratulations on them curls Boi!
This is not a 1/4 mile track, but it is a pretty cool rail.
Congratulations🎉🎉🎉
Awesome job boys!! Congratulations!
I yelled out loud in excitement when everyone else did😂
I know ways of making power I've never seen anyone else do.
Huge accomplishment, job well done boys
Way cool.
