@@CinnamonBob yeah even deadpool never really did that in his movies (besides the end credits to the second one although that was more just time travel.)
I keep on forgetting in the comic books She-Hulk is known for breaking the fourth wall but Deadpool do it better not imagine a movie between She-Hulk and Deadpool holy crap that movie will be insane with all the fourth wall jokes and they can add Tom Holland Spider-Man in the mix it will be a masterpiece
Your rage at the accords being repealed off screen fills me with life. Whether you like them or not, they were a major plot point that effected the MCU. To hand wave them like that proves to me these writers have issues.
My gosh. I am sorry I was not as upset about that wasted throwaway line as I should have been - and I took the story of Captain America: Civil War very seriously. I just forgot what the Sokovia Accords were, but seeing as the MCU does not want to use She-Hulk in any other new project for another couple of years, I certainly hope that any better MCU writers in the near future will retcon this repeal of the Sokovia Accords that started many major conflicts since Civil War, if they care about it any more than She-Hulk's writers do.
It's not Jen's blood that gives her control, it's her privilege. Unlike Bruce, she's had a healthy life with mostly loving parents and stable mental health. Bruce, on the other hand, was abused by his father to the point where he developed Dissociative Identity Disorder (which is the source of the alternate personas of his Hulk forms) and PTSD long before he ever got exposed to the gamma radiation. Jen controls her Hulk because she's a privileged neurotypical who's had an infinitely easier life than Bruce.
@@GIGio_Official oh, I'm like 90% sure this isn't canon in the MCU because it goes against the agenda so hard but it's canon in the comics and honestly should be canon in the MCU
That doesn’t mean her life is free of tragedy because her mother and best friend Jill was murdered by the mob boss Nick Trask who unintentionally gave Jenny her powers (because he sent a couple of assassin thugs to silence her for good)
@bullymaguire9288 The only thing that’s holding the character back is her ego that was built up by the writers of this disappointing train wreck of a streaming series
If I was in charge of writing/being an effect supervisor (maybe one of the actors in the show if I’m lucky) I would’ve gotten rid of all of the bullshit politics. And actually make it more accurate to Jenny’s legacy and character.
1:44 I always thought the reason Jen and Todd didn't completely Hulk out was because they didn't have DID. In the comics, Hulk was an alternate personality in Bruce's head as a result of DID from being abused when he was exposed to the radiation. It just gave Hulk a physical form. Something similar would probably happen for Moon Knight.
Yeah in the comics but unfortunately they never astablished that in the MCU. Instead something that probably we probably should have seen (Bruce becoming smart hulk) was skipped in favor of a cheap joke in endgame. Because instead of a Hulk movie between infinity war and endgame we got captain marvel. Which lets be honest could have just been a phase 4 movie.
I'm not good at writing but after watching the last 2 episodes of this show, my writing confidence just got boosted. How does someone write a show that's based on an established source material that bad. That's like a skill in of itself.
I’m with you. I probably can’t write a masterpiece if I’m being completely honest with myself, but I’m absolutely positive I could write a better story and script than whatever the f*ck the She-Hulk writers came up with.
that is not a problem just give it to some woke agenda driven narrow minded dum as s**t bigoted person there sorted they have got a world class dumpster fire of a series that if they had to two brain sells they would not gone wrong thank you Disney Marvel for given us so much s**t
I thought this show could have been great with the legality of being a superhero. The problem was that the writers admitted that they weren’t accustomed to writing a legal drama. My main issue with breaking the fourth wall to the point of being able going to the writer’s room and seeing Kevin, the robot which is going to lower the stakes in any team up movie or tv show that she is in. She-Hulk can just go to the writers or Kevin and stop any bad guy in the future. If She-Hulk was in Infinity War or Endgame, she could have Thanos written out of the show. She could have saved Black Widow, Loki, Tony and Vison. She-Hulk doesn’t need to fight when she can rewrite the narrative of that story.
Its wild that you put a legal comedy in the hands of writers who have no idea how to write one. With the 4th wall thing, im pretty sure in the finale robot kevin said she wont be able to leave the show again, so i think that fixes the issue she may have in future projects. Still fucks this show though
They did point out that she cannot return to that room and change anything after that interaction, so she can't do that in the future. I also quite enjoyed the show as a whole, even if it was a little bit of a let down for me. I hope she is able to really come into her own with better writers and things to do in the broader scope of the MCU.
“Make the entire SHOW about it! Have it be Jen fight to repeal the Sokovia Accords, to prevent the world’s heroes from being fractured like how they were during Infinity War!” Yo, this is brilliant. I want to actually write this out.
I honestly thought the show would have been better if Jen was 10 years younger. It's hard to believe that a woman in her 30's who's as immature, insecure, and self involved as she is could be an assistant DA. The writers admitted they couldn't do the courtroom scenes anyway. So they may as well have put her in law school or make her a recent graduate.
That would actually be a much better alternative and give more oprotunites to focus on the Law side of attorney at law. But why couldn't they do courtroom scenes?
Yep. This is a terrible admission of laziness by the writers of She-Hulk and they were not even proud enough to own it with that other setup you described? Good grief! Give me a break! It is as if they think not every comedy has to be funny. Even though I do not like the way WandaVision ended by letting Wanda off too easy, at least that show had more creative comedy energy in it to be a pastiche of various eras of sitcoms, with a dramatic twist following an overarching mystery story where Monica tries to reason with Wanda.
19:46 - 20:00 This is a FANTASTIC point that I don't see a lot of people talking about. If you're allowed to do absolutely anything as a writer, then nothing matters. She-Hulk is just the most recent example of that.
What I hate most is that she is so high and mighty wanting Abomination to take responsibility, yet she doesn't at all!!! She took off the ankle thing that stop her from turning into the She-Hulk and is walking around like nothing in plane view of cops as they take every else in to custody, yet she isn't being also taken in? She broke her parole by changing into She-Hulk just like Abomination did. She should be rotting in a cell right next to him. They screwed this and the MCU up so bad it's criminal for Real!!
This show is the perfect example of doing the whole girl power wrong. Instead of it feeling natural like buffy or wakanda forever it felt really forced by not giving her a real challenge and making the incels the villians without ever making them interesting or compelling. Besides dare devil episode she literally did no crime fighting. I mean it missed the mark of telling a story about a woman struggling with the powers of the hulk. It's the worst mcu show. Not to mention comedies have rules built in and follow story structure you can't just throw away everything you built up in a finale
I think the show uses comedy as an excuse to do whatever it wants and it sucks because I really liked The actress that played Jen. I feel like she had good comedic timing with some wit. But the writing just kept fucking her over.
1:12 To be fair, I think her having control of her powers from the start... is comic accurate. That's my only 'To be fair' moment the show is getting though.
The difference is in the details. In the comics, She-Hulk is Jennifer's idealized self in her mind, hence she had control because this was the person Jennifer always wanted to be. The reason why Bruce couldn't control his transformation was due to his trauma born from watching his mother be violently murdered by his own father. He wanted to be a hero, hence why Hulk would go out of his way to help others(provided they didn't attack him). His anger simply got violently out of control at points.
She actually DOES have a savage form and was Savage in her first issues. She was more controlled than Hulk tho. And her Savage form is still with her to this day just really dormant
She has control in the comics but the trade off was she wasn’t as strong as The Hulk. The tv gives her both which kinda ruins her character. Heck, her transforming back into Jen constantly is against her comic character. As she saw it as her idealized self. To the point where most people didn’t know she could turn back
I think part of why she has command of her powers it's also because of the fact that I read somewhere that she is technically a "half hulk." because of that, it's easier for her to control her powers.
Completely agree about the Sokovia Accords. Absolute bullshit to repeal that offscreen and would've made the show much better if that was Jen's mission. It would've made her look more like a real lawyer who is paying attention to the laws of the superhero world and saw the damage the Accords did to the Avengers. She could easily be voicing the concerns that Captain America voiced about freedom from corrupt government oversight is better for the Avengers. Instead, we got a show with a Mary Sue lawyer who is uninterested in her career and more interested in degenerate tinder sex, a message that men on the internet are either radical terrorists or just misogynistic, stupid, and don't understand women, butchers already-established characters like Hulk and Daredevil, and a finale that destroys the little amount of stakes the show set up. I honestly think this was some very low-tier woke propaganda that failed to account for nuance, believability, and forgot what universe this story is supposed to takes place in. CW could have done better.... which is disgusting
in comics, the reason she hulk doesn't have the "Drawbacks" is because its entitled to banner spesifically. because he suffered a trauma as a boy which was caused by an abusive father always beating him for no reason giving him a reason to want to be protected which caused him to live with anger and a bit of insanity. the hulk was basically a personofication of that anger but the show didn't seem to go that route, too bad.
Yeah my knowledge of the comics are critically low but i do remember watching a video about that. All i needed was for the MCU to establish that. Fuck they still can and it will fix that part of She-Hulk by proxy
It’s crazy how these writers make such dog shit, and purposely killing any chance of character development. No amount of money could get me to watch this whole series, or anything Disney touches now
I think this and Thor: Love & Thunder were the projects that made me realise; "oh shit the MCU has definitely declined." I was less then a year old when the first iron man came out so I grew up with this franchise & have unconditional love for it and always defended it when people said the projects were "formulaic" or whatever but I can't defend the recent decisions they are making with the universe...
@@no.1spidey-fan182 from a visual and acting stand point it's amazing. From a basic writing stand point it's extremely messy. @@nerd_1356 exactly. And the reason for that haooens to be that the writers and director of Dr Strange 2 had ZERO idea of how WandaVision was gonna end and Marvel probably only gave them "wanda is evil now"as a prompt...this is just a case of incredible MISSmanagement. I know marvel likes to be very secretive in house to avoid leaks but if you have a character coming directly from an arc in another installment you HAVE to make sure the people work on both projects are COLLABORATING. Or else you leave it up to the fans to course correct and fill in plot holes with assumptions like "Oh its all the Darkhold's fault for Wanda being evil"...even so the book was destroyed and her character only got WORSE in a path of damnation...the amount of people tryimg to defend her characterization BLOWS my mind. Like have some STANDARDS JEEZ
I remember reading a comment saying that if the multiplverse is real in the MCU, that means at some point in an alternate universe, Bruce straight up brutally murdered his cousin in that lab because she wasn't able to tranform. Thus ending She-Hulk before the show even really got started. I was so happy in reading that
The writers probably intended intellegencia to be a joke but the editors made it seem serious It seems like it was just rushed and the people working on it weren't on the same page
Let me offer a rewrite to Jen's origin story that I think makes more sense and is more compelling than what we got in the show. Somewhen in the 5 years between IW and Endgame, Jennifer Walters is on her way to visit her cousin in his place in Mexico. On the way something happens to her (something like a car accident or getting shot idk) and needs a blood transfusion to survive. Bruce is the only person who can help her and gives her his blood. She gets her powers and gets training on how to control it but she's terrified of herself and her abilities. She also has no friends since Nikki got snapped so she asks Bruce to let her stay there so she won't be a danger to others. He's the only one who knows where she is and she works from distance. After the battle of Earth she learns that Iron Man, Black Widow and Captain America are dead and since she wasn't in the battle to help she feels guilty for not going out to help people. Now that she has her friend back she returns to LA knowing that the world is already full of "heroes" now so she decides to help as a lawyer in a superhero law division. I know it's not great but compared to the show I feel like I wrote a masterpiece😂
In the comics the reason Jen doesn't have an alternate personality is because she didn't go through the same trauma Bruce went through. The hulk is the physical embodiment of Bruce's repressed rage and trauma from his abusive childhood.
Remember the days when “vandalizing a comic book character” simply meant your sibling(s) or friend(s) drawing a mustache and glasses on the characters in pen?
There’s also no payoff to that guy leaking a sextape of her(that she had no idea was filmed or consented to), like he totally disappears. This show sucks
It's because Bruce suffers from mental disorders which causes him to have multiple personalities therefore him and the Hulk are different personalities were as Jen doesn't suffer from that so her and her aren't separate personalities so she has more control
And this is what they decided was better than Jen being a cancer survivor because she got a blood transfusion from Bruce. Which is also how she got her powers in the comics.
Of course, wouldn’t want a man to be saving her would you? It has to be her saving him and getting the powers like that (they also had to bullshit a hulk-stopper so Bruce would be capable of being hurt in the first place)
If they didn't want a "Cliche Beat Em Up Finale" they couldve had the big fight in the MIDDLE of the season. Maybe She Hulk vs Titania, of course I'd make it so Titania didnt have powers until then and got it from the ACTUAL COMIC ACCURATE Intelligencia, tying her Origin with Dr Doom in. Then the rest of the season and go back to regular business with wacky lawyer adventures In the Season finale she couldve simply broke the 4th wall and said "you thought we were gonna have some crazy fight didnt you" while we see her at family dinner. And then she asks "Wait where is bruce?" She looks at the screen again and says "What are you planning?" Referring to the writers as the camera pans out if the screen in the editing room and She Hulk is heard shouting in the distance asking where its going Then the camera pans to another screen that has Hulk FINALLY arrive to Sakaar, he gets out the ship and in the distance we slowly zoom in to a shrouded figure with long hair, sitting on a beast it just killed, with a big sword it its hand and we get our BADA$$ SKAAR INTRO At least thats how I wouldve done it🤷♂️
You nailed it. There were so many ways they could have taken this season and still have the outcome they wanted, but rather they chose the most lazy route. It's a damn shame
@@GIGio_Official facts. Theres so much freedom you get with light hearted characters but its like the She Hulk writers never cared about actually adpating the character and just wanted to force in their ideas
I was a huge fan of the incredible hulk TAS. She hulk was great in that show. But here, it was an utter failure. Thanks for making that stress vs anger point. I didn't really make that connection until now, and it makes me hate this show even more.
Yeah the show definitly fumbled the bag at the end. And yeah at first i didn't think of the stress thing until i rewatched The Incredible Hulk and realized that Jen should be transforming much more often then just when she is super angry
Finally someone who I've watched review this show being honest about how terrible this show is. Sidebar: I was a huge fan of Daredevil on netflix, and what they did to him in this show makes me very nervous what disney+ is going to do with him.
Except that’s the problem, you only know who Daredevil is because you saw the Netflix show, the Daredevil from the She-Hulk is like his comics counterpart, they did not ruin him.
@@Giovanni_Fierros951 OK, I would buy that argument, but unless I'm mistaken, he never got with she-hulk in the comics, and the way they so casually got together in the show did not quite sit right, it felt out of place. I don't know maybe I would have received him better if the show was better, but it was just god awful.
Bruce wanting her to be a superhero isn't stupid writing. It makes perfect sense. Bruce's experience as a Hulk is you can't lead a normal life, and you need to leave society. The only use for Hulk powers Bruce has seen is that one, so he assumes that is the only option Jen has.
@@GIGio_Official In this day and age? There was no way that was gonna happen. Nowadays, women in media are NEVER held responsible for their crimes, preferring to blame them on men (especially white men) instead.
@@GIGio_Official Exactly, have Jen understand what Bruce went through, have her empathize with him, not insult him. Let Bruce know their situations are different and work together.
I think the accords getting repealed should have instead been a plot point in falcon and winter soldier since that show was more connected to civil war.
0:58, Jen having control from the start isn’t necessarily the issue with her character. Firstly, the blood from Bruce she ingests if from a Bruce who has performed further experimentation on himself to retain his sentence in his Hulk form (at the expense of him acting like an intoxicated goofball and borderline stupid at times), meaning already there are elements favoring Jen’s stability. Furthermore, while nearly every Hulk has the capacity to become feral or savage when sufficiently stressed (something that appears even true for sentient Hulk’s as Bruce and Jen both briefly devolve into roaring beasts when they are angry enough), only Bruce’s Hulk form developed its own personality, which speaks to his originally intensely negative relationship with his Hulk form (and by the logic of the comics which arguably doesn’t apply here, Bruce having repressed severe psychological issues that manifest externally in his Hulk’s brutish and animalistic personality, issues that when he finally deals with allows him to retain his mind regardless of his form). Jen’s relationship with her Hulk form is different in the sense that while Bruce treated his as something to fear and suppress, Jen is originally the first of the two of them to see potential positives of their condition, as she feels stronger and more confident when transformed. The issue instead is the opposite of Bruce’s, in her preferring her Hulk form out of insecurity with her normal form, with the cost being her being addicted to a degree to the experience. There is potential for an impactful story about self-esteem and hiding from one’s flaws, if only it weren’t lost in the questionable attempts at comedy and generally messy storytelling.
You make some excellent points here and on the surface, i don't really have a problem with her bing in control from the start, I jsut think that should come at the cost of something, like being weaker than Bruce. Not for her to be weak just not as strong as Bruce. Honestly its probably the smallest problem i have with the show, but you hit the nail on the head with that this preference to being im hulk form could have lead tio a great personal story. She doesn't like being She-Hulk at first but over time can become obsessed with it. Staying in the form for even longer than her normal sixe. Yeah great comment
@@GIGio_Official Interestingly enough, the longer the films spent having Bruce gain more control over Hulk, and Hulk himself becoming more sentient and less feral, the weaker they portrayed the character. As in the more Hulk thinks, the less angry he is and the weaker he gets. And in that sense, there may indeed be a cost to Bruce and Jen’s retained sentience in that the more they attempt to control or suppress their stress, they may not be able to get stronger using it, even though doing so prevents them from causing more collateral damage than they otherwise would due to how unpredictable they would be when influenced by emotion or instinct. That or the films are just nerfing Hulk’s in general to not get stronger due to emotional or physical stress, which is also likely considering how various comic characters have their powers tweaked to make it seem more realistic that they could coexist in a film universe and prevent too many of them being able to survive the stories they are put in to raise the stakes. Either way, I love this video. Not only does it bring up a lot of the shows flaws, but its also just plain hilarious with its roasting of those flaws.

This will sound lame, and I don’t expect anyone to respond, but in the comics….. that’s more or less exactly how it works. Jen doesn’t have the same raw brute force and strength that Bruce does, but she’s also much more stable. There’s actually a reason for this. Bruce…… kinda has DID in the comics, as a result of his childhood and what he saw… namely his father unaliving his mother in front of him. The Hulk, is….. almost literally Bruce regressing and having a meltdown. It’s almost literally a wounded child, who was unable to protect the person he loved most, lashing out in anger. Which makes Jen’s whole thing about, “I have infinitely more experience controlling my anger than you, because I have to do it constantly,”…… really come across like a slap to the face. Like…. she knows her Aunt was murdered by Bruce’s father. She knows he saw that happen. There’s a reason he has issues, which actually stem from PTSD.
The quality of writing has gone down severely at Marvel. The She-Hulk writers had no experience in law, Sam Raimi hadn't watched any previous Marvel films when it came to Dr. Strange 2, and a Marvel producer has said that they consider it to be a "red flag" if a potential writer is a fan. So, what we get is a jumbled mess of a universe where nothing makes sense anymore and my teen years are ruined. I consider Phase 3 + No Way Home the end of the MCU. On that depressing note, it's 3AM and I need sleep. Oh, and thanks for suffering for us, Gio. Your sacrifice is appreciated 🙏🏻
The only defence I can give for she Hulk having control is Bruce being in his professor Hulk phase where he explained in endgame he did further experimentation on his self to suppress hulks personality but that being said it's still dumb
So most normal people who can become hulks can control their transformations and be in complete control of it. The reason Bruce can't is because he suffered severe abuse as a child and when he turns into the hulk it's his suppressed rage that's taking over
Would’ve been better if she hulk had better control but was slightly weaker and she’s frustrated about it. Then she finds out she’s more agile and faster than hulk and decides to build a fighting style that focuses more on her agility.
"The story which is that my life fell apart right when I learning to be both Jen and She-Hulk." is a straight up lie She was never learning that. The show is about Jen mostly hating being She-Hulk but acknowledging it has some benefits, sometimes, and then in episode 7 she hates how She-Hulk steals all the spotlight. Nevermind the episode 6 when she did that on purpose at somebody's wedding... Jen never learned anything about being both her and She-Hulk. She was just using She-Hulk for the benefits but as it is, she hates She-Hulk because Jen can never live up to that form
The fact Intelligencia look more like a bunch of deadbeats going through an existential crisis rather than a fearsome group really shows how far Marvel/Disney has fallen
So, that bit about creativity often coming from restrictions is absolutely true and classical music is a great example of that. Some more firmly established types of musical compositions such as variations, rondos, even masses have bread incredible showcases of ingenuity from great minds like W. A. Mozart or Johann Nepomuk Hummel
1:33 honestly I agree I mean look at abomination for example when he transformed because of hulk blood he didn't know how to turn, or use a-bomb for example it's the same, and yes jen had control over her hulk form but she didn't know how to turn back until later comics
And if you’re a fan of lawyer shows this show annoys you even more, like they could have made the court scenes and the dialog have some realm in reality so it could entertain people a bit who enjoy court room drama
I always justified the hulk control with Jen was a sly way of ignolaging Bruce's abusive childhood amd how the hulk was a split personality but I was low key just trying to justify poor weighting
Jennifer in the comics was always able to control herself as the hulk. The point was that Bruce's split personality is the result of the abuse he suffered as a child, not a result of becoming the hulk.
MCU She-hulk's gotta be General Ross' favourite Hulk: All MCU Hulk might, 0 rampage so no ethical block for if he tries to produce an army of these hulks
You forgot to mention that after the whole series where abomination has taken responsibility and is rehabilitated, in his final scene he has wong break him out of prison, completely assassinating his character, which sucks because abomination was the best part of the show in my opinion.
Jen does get her hulkness from Bruce’s blood but before it’s way more than a couple drops into an open wound. It’s an emergency transfusion. What also bugged me, especially in the start, is how against it Jen is. It’s almost the opposite of She Hulk’s character
Ya know what really depresses me is that we could've had a Hulk TV Series back in 2010 during phase 1 or 2 and it would've been directed by Guillermo-del-toro, and it would've been so incredible, the only reason we never got it was because Kevin Faige wouldn't have had direct control so he wouldn't permit it and ABC wanted to do AGENTS OF SHIELD and Cloak and Dagger instead so basically Hulk was stuck in limbo unable to get further on screen development which really saddens me. I really think Hulk should have a Comic Accurate Live Action TV Show set between Phase 1 and 3 or more and give us something we all wanna see like the mindscape of Banner and the other Personalities and bring back Doc Sampson as his psyche/physician like in Ultimate Destruction and we get Joe FIxit, Mindless Hulk, Guilt Hulk, Devil Hulk etc. Also it would be nice to have that familiar narrative of him going around the world either looking for a cure or a way to control it while occasionally receiving help from ally's such as Tony Stark, Read Richards, Dr Strange, Donald Blake, Ghost Rider and maybe have a proper origin for Jen Walters She Hulk done right here(at least that's what I would do rather than just shoving her into the MCU as a very underwhelming unfunny and all around lesser version of herself in terms of story and writing but oh well I guess) While we're at it lets give Hulk HIS Villains to fight, yknow like Gargoyle, The Leader, Abomination, Absorbing Man, Madman, The U-Foes, Bi Beast, The Enclave Sasquatch, Ravage, General Riker, Flux, Half Life, Wendigo, Zzzax, Maestro, The Red King and maybe Tyrannus, Armageddon and or the three big entities (Galaxy Master, Shaper of Worlds and Dark/Knight Crawler) something along those lines would be an Incredible sight to behold and most of those characters debut in some of Hulk's best stories. Oh yeah and one more thing... BRING BACK BETTY AND RICK! seriously I don't know what it is with Marvel or Disney not even allowing Banner's supporting cast of characters exist but here we are. Make it a Dark themed Horror/ Tradic tale of a man fighting his inner demons while outside forces try in vain to take his power from him or destroy him and let's see why you wouldn't like him when he's angry. I would tittle it something like Incredible Hulk Man or Monster, I think that would work nicely and if it has to be a reboot then so be it but either way that's sort of what I'd have in mind, something similar to the 90s Animated Series and 70s Live action Series but with more Comic accuracy and hopefully multiple seasons giving us a nice long running storyline of this character reaching his full potential and with lots of depth and emotional tragedy and horrific themes and visuals with an epic scale of action and intensity showing so many sides to Banner and The Hulk and bringing up that classic idea of is he a man, a monster or is he both?
I stopped watching She Hulk after the 1st episode. I'm glad I stopped watching this shit show. But at least this show reaffirmed that my books are much better than this.
so jen having full control over her transformation is comic accurate, and in the comic it's justified by her being more mentally stable than her cousin …however, in the comics this lack of disadvantage comes with a lack of advantage, because she's not as strong, she doesn't get more powerful with anger, or with anything, if she wants to get stronger she has to work out like any normal human, meanwhile we've seen bruce get angry enough to fight the marvel equivalent of superman, fight actual superman in a crossover, and clap apart the fabric of reality. meanwhile the show just decided that she's as strong if not stronger than the hulk, after not even explaining why she's already in control of herself, because fuck having good writing, even when it's already written!
@@Nightraven4321 ok you're comment is giving me hard "versus community" vibes, and those guys can be very anal about this stuf, so i have to say that statement is simultaneously right and wrong. it's right because hulk technically has a no limits fallacy, he has infinite strength as long as he keeps getting angry, however wrong because (and i made this mistake here too) sometimes jen is as strong as even some of bruce's strongest feats, she's just gotta work for it, and therefore the times comic jen is stronger than comic bruce are, unlike the show, justified.
@@Nightraven4321 a) my point was that you sound like vs community member, in other words even though what you said has nothing to do with power scaling or hax, it reminds me exactly of the annoying attitude those people hold. b) my original comment was about justification and presentation, something the mcu has failed at, despite the comics doing perfectly. c) you still sound like an annoying vs community member.
Your first complaint is something that happened in the comics, she already has control. In the comics hulk is one of the only hulking characters that does not have control over it Other than the K.E.V.I.N. part everyone would love it if Deadpool did the finnaly(but u did make some good points on the finale)
@@MoreThanACasualFan There are other Hulks in control she is just more well known about it. The issue is she had a period(i do not know if she still is) where she effectively became just like Bruce... Yes, bulky angry and limited vocabulary.
Honestly thought it was because Bruce was exposed to a greater level of Gamma Radiation where his cousin only took like some blood that had Gamma Radiation in it. He was literally waterboarded in it, while she skinny dipped
There was supposed to be a completely different drawback for Jen’s hulk form. That being her over reliance on it. However they did an abysmal job at portraying it. I am actually going to make a genuine point about Pickle Rick because people keep pointing out that they share the same main writer with this show. If you take away all the internet culture it’s actually a decent episode. They show Rick going on a crazy adventure while his entire family is doing something else together. The therapist at the end calls out Rick for being selfish, and avoidant. It might not be the best way of getting across info, but it works because it lines up with Rick’s character. This show wants us to think Jen is the one we feel sorry for because people only like her for she hulk. And while it’s true that they show her being neglected, She’s also not the best person herself. She has a habit of making everything about herself, and her own problems while ignoring what other people want. She shows off her she hulk form at somebody else’s wedding to get eyes on her when the attention should be focused on the people getting married. If this flaw was addressed, Jen improved herself, and she could find a truly equal/healthy relationship this wouldn’t be a problem. But instead they paint her solely as a victim, which isn’t entirely true.
I don't have a problem with fourth wall breaks so long as they're done right. The problem is that this one wasn't. Fourth wall breaks should never be used to solve the plot, unless that fourth wall breaking ability is frequently used or is the source of that plots problems. A great example of this type of fourth wall break being done right is with something like The Mask. Sure, the mask allows it's wearer to do whatever they damn well please, but the characters in the story can plainly see that the mask is the source of that power, and antagonists can potentially take it and use it for themselves. This makes the mask both the source of many conflicts within the plot, but also the solution to them as well. Another good way to do fourth wall breaks right is by making it unclear whether the character breaking the fourth wall is actually truly aware of fourth wall, or is simply crazy and it's all in their head. A good example of this IMO is the movie version of Deadpool. Because he absolutely is crazy enough that it might all be in his head, and everyone around him truly believes he's simply insane rather than being aware that they're all fictional characters within a story. But his fourth wall breaks are never used to resolve conflicts within the movies (as far as I can recall, it's been a while), so it's all done for the sake of comedy, but doesn't lessen the characters stakes. But in She-Hulk, it's used as a plot convenience. As far as I know, this power was never seen or even hinted at at all until the finale, and it was used to instantly end the entire plots conflict while not directly affecting anything else in the MCU that this climax was set up to alter in some way. So now, She-Hulk has this reality breaking power that seemingly only she can use for no discernable reason, likely can't be taken from her, and can only be perceived by her. This makes the whole MCU a joke, because now anytime there's any world shattering conflict, we're just supposed to ignore the fact that She-Hulk should be able to waltz in a solve it instantly. Because she has that power now. Literally any threat shows up, she should be able to just come into our world and threaten or otherwise force the MCU writers to change their plans, and there's not any good excuse she can give for why she won't do this that doesn't make her a crappy person IMO. It just creates problems down the line IMO.
Something interesting about this is that the writers claimed they wrote Intelligencia in three years ago and were hyping how accurate they got the trolls. Yet 3 years ago, the MCU wasn’t in this place yet. It had its critics, especially during the release of Captain Marvel, but certainly not to the degree it has post-Endgame. So that means they definitely went in with the intention to try to rile up people. They wanted a show to get people talking about it in the worst way, rather than actually try to write a good show. Three years and you couldn’t open a single law book to maybe write some interesting courtroom scenes?
@@cryticalgamyng40 yeah I do, all I hear now is that the chi and writing is terrible but I always like the movies and are only aware of some of the flaws because of nitpickers

You say it's a cosmic coincidence that Jen just so happens to have that genetic derivative that allows her to maintain control while in her Hulk form, and yet... You don't even consider the opposite, that it was specifically Bruce's harsh upbringing that made his Hulk form so incredibly hard to learn to control. Fact is, Bruce's Hulk form was always a metaphor for his suppressed rage he built up in his childhood. It was difficult to control, just as learning to overcome past trauma and the damage it has done to you mentally over the years of having not dealt with it is difficult. Jen doesn't have that, and neither did the tinder-douche, and as such the effect it had on them was noticeably different. Hulk form is less strictly anger (stress/high blood pressure/past trauma), and more a reflection of their deeper emotional state. Hulk was angry and learned to control it, the bad guy was full of himself, and Jen was just sort of smarmy without any kind of emotional complexity to round her out as a Tony Stark type. Hulk searched for help for years, but what he did was akin to finding new bandage to put over the wound, or a medicine to clear up the symptoms while not dealing with the actual issue, which is why he spent so many years "under control" but not combined like he was in End Game. They didn't have that journey because their lives were relatively peachy, and they didn't have the internal trauma that would have made them truly broken. Anyway, I made all that up, I don't know if it's true, but it kinda sounds good.
I was so excited for the She Hulk series when it was announced, but it turned out to be very disappointing. If it wasn't an MCU series i would've stopped watching it after a few episodes. The scenes with daredevil were good, but i don't think the writers knew what they wanted to do with this series. Also, saying ' this is how the comics are' is not a good excuse for a bad story. They should have made the story more suitable( and interesting) for the medium, if that's how it was in the comics.
What I find weird about the show is that Bruce in age of Ultron said he can have kids and not have sex I mean he can but due too the gamma in his system that would kill a woman.and yet Jen can have sex with no trouble even though she now has gamma in her system as well without killing anyone not even Matt Murdock wtf.
The sacovia accords being appealed makes some sense if you think about but it should have really had an actual explination. The accords are the whole reason the avengers were split up and if they weren't earth might have had a better chance against Thanos, at least that's what what was left of the general population would have believed. Anyway, it makes sense and you can reason it but it happening in one line meant to stop people from questioning a scene makes no sense since there was a whole movie spawned because of it
one thing that sounds wrong to me about the "controling anger" scene is that it doesn't make any sense. If Jen just carried evidence that she's the Hulk's cousin everywhere she went, then she should get at least a bit more respect than she says she had
he was fine, i rewatched the show right before the episode and he felt the same as the end of season 3 (where he was happy) but a little bit more jokey because it was a comedy
What suck is when she say she better than him and she have better control over her anger but keep in mind Jen doesn't have to deal with Multiple personality identity disorder which Bruce deals with everyday not surprise She can control her form. That's in the original comic at least they got that right
The difference between DP and She Hulk here, is DP is only aware of the fact that he's in a movie and will only go as far as to talk to us or look at the camera (or grab the camera and break it as of recently) but Jen literally very intimately interacts with the outside world in that finale and straight up rewrites her own scene... Gross.
i have a feeling one of the writers is a huge JJBA fan and thought "hey what if we added a jojo reference, you know how pucci reset the world, what if She Hulk reset the last episode"
to be fair people never undesrtand Banner : the guy have multiple personalities not just hulk ..... a lot of individual like Jen keep their personality after the transformation but Banner was deeply traumatized in his childhood
They were REALLY lazy in writing this show. One thing they could've easily used as a handwave was to just say that since Bruce now had the Hulk under control, that's why Jen had it under control. That she was lucky to get his blood now, and not a few years ago when the Hulk was still unruly and unpredictable.
The whole fourth wall breaking thing could have done well if it didn’t rewrite the entire ending. It makes you question a lot more than you should.
I think the breaking the fourth wall thing didn't work the moment Jen was given reality altering toonforce despite this being a live-action show
@@CinnamonBob yeah even deadpool never really did that in his movies (besides the end credits to the second one although that was more just time travel.)

Your rage at the accords being repealed off screen fills me with life. Whether you like them or not, they were a major plot point that effected the MCU. To hand wave them like that proves to me these writers have issues.
Exactly! I don't get how you can just hand wave something that big away
Thisssssss! Repealing the Sokovia accords off screen and that trivially is one of the STUPIDEST things the MCU has done💔
The fourth wall breaking in the finale is the second grader equivalent to ‘she woke up and it was all a dream’
True!
If only the the MCU established that in any of its movies or shows
@@GIGio_Official oh, I'm like 90% sure this isn't canon in the MCU because it goes against the agenda so hard but it's canon in the comics and honestly should be canon in the MCU
The only reason Bruce doesn’t have control is bc he has alternate personalities disorder from trauma not most people know this
Yes... well, the MCU never explained that because they don't want a Hulk Solo Movie or Universal having a life-Contract of Hulk Rights.
Being abused as a child then getting hulk powers is a bad combination it seems
I wished this was established in the MCU. that would fix several of these problems
It is genuinely a skill the fumble a finale this bad
On god it did
and they got paid, handsomely for it.
Have it be Jen fight to repeal the Sokovia Accords, to prevent the world’s heroes from being fractured like how they were during Infinity War!”
Yo, this is brilliant.
@@GIGio_Official In some interview the writers admitted that they had the hardest time with the courtroom scenes, that's why there are so few of them.
@@sandy34740 if they cant do their job they could of always found someone else.

Blame Disney. They rewrote the MCU to be a live action kid's show.
I get that. For me I don't take comic accuracy into account when making these videos

Being a hero can give Jen a purpose and some belonging, to be honest. It makes sense that he'd want her to be a hero
Okay then that needs to be established as an insecurity before Bruce tries to push for it
I remember reading a comment saying that if the multiplverse is real in the MCU, that means at some point in an alternate universe, Bruce straight up brutally murdered his cousin in that lab because she wasn't able to tranform. Thus ending She-Hulk before the show even really got started.
I was so happy in reading that
The writers probably intended intellegencia to be a joke but the editors made it seem serious
It seems like it was just rushed and the people working on it weren't on the same page
It wouldn't surprise me
Intelligencia feels more like 4 chan than Reddit
Jennifer undermining Bruce's struggle with his Hulk persona is the biggest middle finger the MCU threw at us in all its runtime. 🤬

Pepperidge Farm remembers.
Yeah i feel like the show could have been so much better but just really fumbled the bag
to be fair, the cancer thing was done with jane in love and thunder so I can understand them not doing that, but the rest of it you are right.
Then the rest of the season and go back to regular business with wacky lawyer adventures
In the Season finale she couldve simply broke the 4th wall and said "you thought we were gonna have some crazy fight didnt you" while we see her at family dinner.
And then she asks "Wait where is bruce?"
She looks at the screen again and says "What are you planning?" Referring to the writers as the camera pans out if the screen in the editing room and She Hulk is heard shouting in the distance asking where its going
Then the camera pans to another screen that has Hulk FINALLY arrive to Sakaar, he gets out the ship and in the distance we slowly zoom in to a shrouded figure with long hair, sitting on a beast it just killed, with a big sword it its hand and we get our BADA$$ SKAAR INTRO
At least thats how I wouldve done it🤷♂️

Bruce wanting her to be a superhero isn't stupid writing. It makes perfect sense. Bruce's experience as a Hulk is you can't lead a normal life, and you need to leave society. The only use for Hulk powers Bruce has seen is that one, so he assumes that is the only option Jen has.
if jen just went back to her universe and assumed all the consequences it would make the show more redeemable

@@GIGio_Official In this day and age? There was no way that was gonna happen. Nowadays, women in media are NEVER held responsible for their crimes, preferring to blame them on men (especially white men) instead.
1:12 To be fair, her having that balance from the get go does kinda match the comics. The problem is how MCU Jen flaunts it.
Yeah all the MCU had to do was establish this mental problem with Bruce and then everything would be fine.

She hulk is weaker
Why do you think she’s not
"The story which is that my life fell apart right when I learning to be both Jen and She-Hulk." is a straight up lie
She was never learning that.
You have to be an insane narcisist to be jealous of your own alter ego!!!
MCU She-hulk's gotta be General Ross' favourite Hulk: All MCU Hulk might, 0 rampage
so no ethical block for if he tries to produce an army of these hulks
Always a good day when I see G.I. Gio pop up in my feed 🙌🏾
Always a good day to upload. :)
Also it would be nice to have that familiar narrative of him going around the world either looking for a cure or a way to control it while occasionally receiving help from ally's such as Tony Stark, Read Richards, Dr Strange, Donald Blake, Ghost Rider and maybe have a proper origin for Jen Walters She Hulk done right here(at least that's what I would do rather than just shoving her into the MCU as a very underwhelming unfunny and all around lesser version of herself in terms of story and writing but oh well I guess)
While we're at it lets give Hulk HIS Villains to fight, yknow like Gargoyle, The Leader, Abomination, Absorbing Man, Madman, The U-Foes, Bi Beast, The Enclave Sasquatch, Ravage, General Riker, Flux, Half Life, Wendigo, Zzzax, Maestro, The Red King and maybe Tyrannus, Armageddon and or the three big entities (Galaxy Master, Shaper of Worlds and Dark/Knight Crawler) something along those lines would be an Incredible sight to behold and most of those characters debut in some of Hulk's best stories.
3:02, Bro, I'm using that 💀

@@GIGio_Official nice😁👽
so jen having full control over her transformation is comic accurate, and in the comic it's justified by her being more mentally stable than her cousin
…however, in the comics this lack of disadvantage comes with a lack of advantage, because she's not as strong, she doesn't get more powerful with anger, or with anything, if she wants to get stronger she has to work out like any normal human, meanwhile we've seen bruce get angry enough to fight the marvel equivalent of superman, fight actual superman in a crossover, and clap apart the fabric of reality.
meanwhile the show just decided that she's as strong if not stronger than the hulk, after not even explaining why she's already in control of herself, because fuck having good writing, even when it's already written!
She is not as strong as the hulk she is definitely weaker
@@Nightraven4321 ok you're comment is giving me hard "versus community" vibes, and those guys can be very anal about this stuf, so i have to say that statement is simultaneously right and wrong. it's right because hulk technically has a no limits fallacy, he has infinite strength as long as he keeps getting angry, however wrong because (and i made this mistake here too) sometimes jen is as strong as even some of bruce's strongest feats, she's just gotta work for it, and therefore the times comic jen is stronger than comic bruce are, unlike the show, justified.
@@comfyghost no it’s because it was clear in the show that hulk was stronger and hulk is always stronger than she hulk it’s not a vs community thing
In the comics hulk is one of the only hulking characters that does not have control over it
Other than the K.E.V.I.N. part everyone would love it if Deadpool did the finnaly(but u did make some good points on the finale)

There are other Hulks in control she is just more well known about it.
The issue is she had a period(i do not know if she still is) where she effectively became just like Bruce... Yes, bulky angry and limited vocabulary.
@@Raximus3000 yeah I said tht. I found it weird that Hulk/Bruce is the only one in his family that can't control himself
Honestly thought it was because Bruce was exposed to a greater level of Gamma Radiation where his cousin only took like some blood that had Gamma Radiation in it. He was literally waterboarded in it, while she skinny dipped
Since She-Hulk failed us, only one man can help us. Better Call Saul!
Yes!
I’m pretty sure it’s Just Bruce’s horrible life that makes him have no control

DAMN-Jen fighting against the accords would have been fucking GREAT for the main plotline for the show
There was supposed to be a completely different drawback for Jen’s hulk form.
The only way to fix this show would to have it be a sitcom that wanda watched as a child.
I would love that. lol
For some reason, this show didn't bother me, I saw the vision they were going for....but that ending....Jesus

I wonder if the MCU’s ability to make a Hulk solo film was included in the Sokovia Accords, and those were lost when the Accords were repealed?
The only animals or mammals that cat calls her are cats. That's how they call her home.
The sacovia accords being appealed makes some sense if you think about but it should have really had an actual explination. The accords are the whole reason the avengers were split up and if they weren't earth might have had a better chance against Thanos, at least that's what what was left of the general population would have believed. Anyway, it makes sense and you can reason it but it happening in one line meant to stop people from questioning a scene makes no sense since there was a whole movie spawned because of it
This finale fucked me off so much i threw the remote at my tv
one thing that sounds wrong to me about the "controling anger" scene is that it doesn't make any sense. If Jen just carried evidence that she's the Hulk's cousin everywhere she went, then she should get at least a bit more respect than she says she had
Well apparently the actress was just announced fired, so I don't think we'll ever see she hulk ever again
The only reason I watched it was because of daredevil and now they ruined him
he was fine, i rewatched the show right before the episode and he felt the same as the end of season 3 (where he was happy) but a little bit more jokey because it was a comedy
not how ruining works, and as someone who has read daredevil comics... This is Matt Murdock. It is not up for debate, it is a FACT
7:03 It gets a bit slow (but by no means bad) in season 2 don't get me wrong, but SEASON 3?! Actual masterpiece.
Gross.
So ur telling me she hulk got that mommy love to control her powers?
i have a feeling one of the writers is a huge JJBA fan and thought "hey what if we added a jojo reference, you know how pucci reset the world, what if She Hulk reset the last episode"
...That would only work if they read the manga which i doubt they would. It is just a case of "reality as i want for my self insert."
to be fair people never undesrtand Banner : the guy have multiple personalities not just hulk ..... a lot of individual like Jen keep their personality after the transformation but Banner was deeply traumatized in his childhood

They were REALLY lazy in writing this show. One thing they could've easily used as a handwave was to just say that since Bruce now had the Hulk under control, that's why Jen had it under control. That she was lucky to get his blood now, and not a few years ago when the Hulk was still unruly and unpredictable.
