It's hard to believe she passed just four months after this performance from lung cancer. You'd never know she was ill by watching or listening to this performance. She was one of the greats!!
I doubt that most of today's crop of singers could even remember all the lyrics to a great song like this....I'm so glad that I grew up during the time that artists like Donna Summer (and so many more) ruled the airwaves.......They gave our generation so many great memories, which will last our lifetime....... Thank You!!
How many of us grew up loving the voice of Donna Summer. What strength, what volume and control. You are sadly missed by so many. May you rest in peace. Elinor x
Just amazing! Donna has an iconic voice and she controls it beautifully with an incredible range. I watched and smiled through the entire video just remember her come up in the 70s and what a beautiful voice she had. She's unforgettable.
The amazing Miss Donna Summer! I was fortunate enough to see her in 1979 @ The Houston Astrodome....I was spellbound then and still am all these years ago. Love @ Peace
I saw her in LA in the latter years. Her voice was amazing. We were all stunned how beautiful and powerful it was. She commented on gaining weight ‘I was eating potatoes chips’.the audience cheered her on and she started cry. It was so moving that perhaps the latter years were a bit tougher. But it made her more human and she sang the roof off the Amphitheater.
A Legend of a woman with her inspiring and beautifull music.. I grew up in that generation I miss her so much and i know as a matter of fact that nobody in this entire world will replace her never and forever. A true Star. Who climbed up the social ladder soo very fast..Just Awesome Donna Summer ...
This version is the BEST, I am a musician, a drummer of 40 plus years, That orchestra and rhythm section is fabulous, that bass player and drummer and very good together, Donna fits right in with them, TONS of POWER there, great groove, the music of today, well just plain SUCKS, if you can even call it music, all electronic no real musicians, (cheap way out). Bring back the real music, all the Luther's, Donna's, Michael, Whitney, etc, Donna was the best...................................RIP Donna

Your comment proves something I always say. A great song or performance will transcend genres, ages and languages. Metal is light years removed from this kind of music, but you saw the musical value in it. You get it.
Chris Gambaro-Vega Her voice is pure GOLD . You cannot be a fan of music and disregard this woman. Amazing voice don’t care what box ( label ) you want to put her in Disco whatever if she moves you on a emotional level that’s the point of music feel good and moving. Again just WOW !!!!

Oh absolutely you are so very missed. I couldnt walk into a club in the 70 and 80's without hearing it coming out of every club and especially the 77-79 disco heavy era in all the clubs everywhere. Any club that was anything from Ca to New York. She was awesome and she is missed. But we have her beautiful spirit and voice to carry with us.
The greatest female vocalist ever. Tina Turner is right there. But this one woman, Donna Summer, was an angel. We were lucky to have her the 63 years we did. I love her forever and ever.

What a voice. Just incredible. She didn't need any overdubbing or lip syncing. Rock on in Heaven Donna. Do an album with David Bowie and show him around the place!!

Lightning in a bottle. This performance far surpasses any previous version by Donna Summer or Richard Harris. The stars aligned when this performance took place and it still blows me away every time I watch this video. Every musician seen here contributed to a once in a lifetime moment. Take your life into your hands and use it, just like Donna did here. She is truly missed.
Amen Sandra! God I miss those days, the era, Disco music, listening to the late Disco Queen Mrs. Donna Summers. Back in the Disco era when this song came on there was no room in the dance floor to dance! I miss the styles, back when people actually would dress up to go dancing in the Nightclubs, concerts, wedding receptions, house parties not like nowdays! Of my many, many regrets my life was never seen her life in concert back when she was alive. First time I heard her singing was back in 1977 when the song Love To Love You Baby! Back when Disco music was at It's peak and all her other beautiful, sexy songs! I keep on saying that there will never be nobody like her singing, her style of music, or anybody come close. I've listening to this song, danced to it, and also still got the vinyl records and many more if her songs in vinyl records, eight track which to me back then was a piece of garbage for who remembered the tape would get stuck and break just like cassettes! But still I miss these music, those days that came and went by so quickly .Rest in peace Donna Summers and long live Disco music forever! ❤️ Frank.
She came to Puerto Rico, about 20 years ago and all I can say it was the best concert I have ever been to. Her voice was was simply out of this world. And she used many local (great) musicians. RIP Donna.

Kevin, This is Donna only six years (?) away from being felled by cancer. She's a hot, sexy middle-aged woman at the peak of her agency. I think her vocal delivery here is better than her twenty-something rendition on the original album. Phenomenal beauty, grace and a voice that would put any opera singer to shame, as she blows that chorus and orchestra off the stage.
OMG! This is sooooo brilliant! I thought Taylor Swift and Beyonce are the goddesses. Donna is indeed the queen. I'm 20 and completely stunned by the genius artistry of the 1980s. I am appalled having grown at a time when all they play in the airwaves are rubbish. I hope the industry makes great music again.

Richard Harris sings my favorite version of this great song, why? well he ain't a singer but gives it every thing he has and to hell with the strain, missed notes. This version is how it should sound, Donna nailed every thing she ever sang as she has a truly great voice, power range and effortless delivery, no one will deliver this song any were as good as she does.
