    You just saved my life. I was stranded in the middle of DT Chicago and was able to start my car with my 6.0 m18

      ??? BRO !? IM TRYING THIS ASAP !!!
      I just ordered a jump starter for 25 bucks but using the m18 platform to jumpstart cars is just GENIUS, it's a perfect idea for Milwaukee owners

      I used my 12 amp milwalkee battery

    I had to do this when I was up in the mountains with no cell service. I had a roll of structure wire that I twisted up to make some leads to go into the milluakkee battery, then I hooked those up to my booster cables and saved my ass right before a Thunderstorm rolled through

    Just did this with a 6ah m18 Milwaukee battery on my 05 Mazda 3. Took each wire to the terminal on the car battery instead and it worked perfectly. Unbelievably stoked about this hack!!

    Omg! This was a life saver for real. It 100% worked. I used the same exact battery with 2 bars of life also. I used 14 gauge Romex it fit right into the Milwaukee battery perfectly! I can't believe this worked so well!

    This worked like a charm on my 2011 Hyundai Sonata. It was below zero last night and the car wouldn’t start. I was a bit nervous that the 18V could possibly cause a problem with the ECM or some other electrical components. Car started right up. Everything seems fine. I did disconnect it immediately.
    I’m going to make a permanent one with clamps and a base with prongs for the battery to slide into.
    I’d be waiting until tomorrow for AAA. They’re only doing emergency roadside right now and not coming to a residence to do jump starts… 😤

    • @chikkicarolina15
      @chikkicarolina15  Год назад +1

      Thats awesome. With a dead car battery the voltage goes right down on the 18v milwaukee battery when you hook it up.

    • @joehook145
      @joehook145 Год назад

      @@chikkicarolina15 I’m going to check out the voltage with a voltmeter next time.
      I have to say, the m18 was in my trunk for 11 months without being used or charged. It still had full charge. It was raining for 2 days beforehand and when I took it out it was covered in ice. Still worked great, and that’s why all my cordless tools are Milwaukee for the past decade it longer. I have old batteries that still work like new.
      Merry Christmas 🎄 and Happy New Year.

    • @chikkicarolina15
      @chikkicarolina15  Год назад

      I have since found if a battery becomes completely drained, a charger just flashes between red and green and will not charge battery, you can jump charge the battery enough to get milwaukee charger to work again. Milwaukee has a 5 year warranty on batteries. You can send them in and they will give you a new one.

    To prevent electrical damage, can disconnect battery from the car first. But the car battery likely "clamps" the voltage to some value that won't cause damage, anyway.

  • @zerovalue5106
    @zerovalue5106 Год назад +2

    Wait why didn’t you just put the positive and negative on the battery terminals?

    • @chikkicarolina15
      @chikkicarolina15  Год назад

      I put the positive on the positive terminal. I was able to slide the wire into an aditional connector that was attached to the terminal. The negative terminal did not have the same additional connector to hold the wire so i grounded it to the engine where i could wedge the wire under another engine ground wire to hold it so i could walk away and start the truck. If i had clips on the wires used i could have gone dirrectly to the battery.

      Notice that he said it was sparking when he made the final connection. It's much safer to make the spark occur away from the battery, as there could be hydrogen gas present (explosive).

    Can someone help. I was using my battery to jumpstart my car. And then i mistakenly place the b+ into positive of the car battery and b- into the negative of the car battery. And it light up. And now my dewalt 18v battery wont work. Can someone help. Can my dewalt battery be repaired

    • @chikkicarolina15
      @chikkicarolina15  2 года назад

      dewalt shoud have a repair facility. i would check their website. milwaukee has a 5year warranty on batteries. i log into the site, put yhe battery info in, they send a confirmation, print out and enclose in box, send to georgia, new battery sent back.

    Your video would be more believable if you try starting your vehicle before you put the Milwaukee battery on there to verify that your car battery is was actually low

    • @chikkicarolina15
      @chikkicarolina15  11 месяцев назад +3

      You are correct. I was frustrated that day due to subcontractors not showing up so this was a spur of the moment video. If you notice in the beginning i pressed the battery life button on the milwakee battery and there were only 2 bars which is about half life left. When i hooked it to my truck it went down to 0 which mean the milwakee battery was sucked dry by the truck. That will give an indication of how low the truck battery was. I was also able to charge the milwakee battery by leaving it connected as the truck was running. Not good to do all the time but when in a pinch it works. Thanks for watching!
