I was born in 2007 and the first star trek movie i've ever watched was the 2009 one. I really loved the Kelvin timeline Enterprise, and at the same time I also understand why so many people dislike it, maybe many think that the Kelvin design twisted the original designs or it just isn't as good as the original ones. But honestly if the reboot movies never existed, the star trek series could hardly reach generations like me
So you were three when you watch it? This is such a nonsense comment. Watch TOS, TNG, DS9, VOY and ENT... and the wonderful movies - and delight in all that 60+ continuity and history-building and design lineage... then watch this 2009 piece of garbage film and we'll talk.
@ah7910 I watched star trek into darkness when I was about 11-12. I can watch it because there's movie replay services in my country. I watched it through TV.
@@ah7910 ...Did you forget about TV channels that played this often? Because it wasn't so liked, they took cheap TV deals to rerun it. I'm not the original guy, but the '09 film was my first too. Then I went on to watch TOS (my favorite), TNG, DS9, VOY, part of ENT, and a two or three episodes of SNW. @frAirCobra has it right. The movie sucked compared to old Trek but DID put it on young ppl's radar as a franchise.
And I just love the way the camera has physics when they go into warp. The camera shake from the quake the ship makes. And the scene in Beyond when you see The Enterprise at warp and its cutting through space like its water.
My favorite versions of the Enterprise aside from the NCC-1701-D. They feel sleek, sturdy, and ready for anything. The first one was able to survive many life-or-death encounters up until Krall's swarm caught it by surprise, and the A at the end of Beyond looks like a perfect improvement for exploring strange new worlds.
I just thought of an acceptable reason why the Enterprise looks so different in Beyond..... During Into Darkness the ship was very badly damaged, the warp nacelles sustain a lot of impacts, the warp core was bodged back together by kicking it, so the ship needed a complete 1 year refit / rebuild. Now, during Beyond when the crashed saucer section is found by Kirk and Chekov, Chekov refers to it as The Enterprise, my thinking is the saucer section is the main bulk of the ship, the secondary hull is pretty much just the power plant, as seen throughout the first 2 Kelvin films. So my theory is, it was more effective to separate the saucer from the damaged secondary hull, and attach it to a new drive section. Over time drive sections are modified and improved, just like cars for example, resulting in a face lift model. As the saucer is the main part of the Enterprise it still retained being NCC 1701. In Picard season 3, the Enterprise-D is revealed to have been restored, but all they had was the saucer section. The star drive section Geordie says is borrowed from another ship. At the end it is seen in the museum as the Enteprise-D, complete, not just the saucer. This is my evidence for my theory
XD only just noticed something after all these years, in the first movie, there first attempt for Warp Drive Effect was, because the ship is moving far past the speed of light, said light can't even Reach the ship, so its in a Almost continues Shadow with the only "Light" being the Deflector and Nacelles End Glow, and the other few smaller Lights you might blink or miss
I DO NOT CARE WHAT TIME LINE IT IS ENTERPRISE , NX , A , B , C ! , D , E . and so on it is the best Thank you ; it is FAR FAR BETTER THAN ANYTHING FROM star wars 1 on 1
I know the ship design is controversial but these movies had some of the most realistic looking CGI. I never felt like I was looking at 3D models like I did in the later 90s shows, Enterprise, or even the newer shows, which still look like 3D renderings to me. I know they had a much bigger budget but the first film is 15 years old and the GGI looks more realistic than the latest shows.
thats the problem. Once the Deflector dish is hit thats when power to vital systems like Shields is lost. without that deflector dish theres no way in hell that the shields can ever be raised in time. No matter in the Kelvin or Prime TImeline its all about strategy Certain enemies that know where to hit known targets that provide power to vital systems are bound to go for that target as u see with the Kelvin Timeline Enteprise in Star Trek Beyond and the Krall Swarm they knew it was the Deflector Dish they knew that the Dish provided power to those systems like the shields and took that out depriving the ship of any chnace of raising shields and BAM the ship went down like a house of cards.

When the Enterprise rears up above the clouds of Titan it reminded me of a movie i saw in 82 when the Enterprise reared up behind the Reliant . Nice copy
1:05 just noticed this saucer section they are dodging is far too big. The Enterprise was the largest ship in that fleet by a fair margin and this broken half of a saucer is almost twice as big as the Enterprise. Also the films are a mess but I love this version of the Enterprise, combined with the music and audio design it's fantastic. Shame the best part of the entire trilogy is the first 10 mins of the first film, after that JJ's logic took it's usual vacation. Also JJ is rivaling Micheal Bay for over use of lens flare here :D
I really hope the borg is the big bad in the next one. Imagine if they shot off the vengeance off into space to get rid of all evidence and the borg snatch it up and rebuild it....oh man...
There are other “stupid” Star Trek stories. I would like to know what happens next with Spock and Uhura in the Kelvinline and the stories were told continuously and without annoying flashbacks or far too annoying flute music.
a ship of this design shape in the Abramsverse with Nacelles of this type should deserve a class of its own. Perhaps Church class or Abrams class after the men who designed it? if you all will agree with me? Church class after Ryan Church (designer of those warp Nacelles) and Abrams class after the Abramsverse (Kelvin Timeline) reason why im saying this cuz giving this 09 design the title of Constitution class is just unethical in my opinion also not only since the designer of those warp nacelles did not have his name mentioned.
The Kelvin timeline didn't care about the Enterprise or treat her like a lady. She was just Canon fodder to be destroyed. No long 40 years for that ship
