It's strange really since if you look at the pattern of Star Trek spin-offs (I don't count the original in this) they all kinda start off with more of a wet fart than a bang, then get better over time, if all the spin-offs had been judged entirely based on their first 2 seasons, none of em would have ever gotten off the ground, TNG, DS9 and Voyager all managed to get past the early season teething issues, I really don't understand why Enterprise never did.

    • @KITT42_KNIGHT

@@cptsteele91 Its worth listening to the shuttlepod show podcast with Dominic and Conner. Theres more than enough information to highlight UPN meddling in Enterprise that caused so much difficulty. They just interviewed Michael Dorn who said it was UPN that cancelled TNG. It would not surprise me UPN was the reason 7 of 9 ended up wrestling The Rock in VOY....yes that happened!

Absolutely, is really reminiscent of a submarine with the low ceilings, cramped rooms, it really adds to the character of the ship. The latter seasons of Ent had some excellent episodes and you get a feel the series had really found it’s identity. Just as the plug gets pulled on it, a real shame.

      @cjones3710 Год назад +10

Yes destroyong the Entrerprise D for that ugly Enterprise E and the dark drab colours was a mistake. We had the Excellesior and it was grand. This original D bwas so neat looking, as it is a beautiful r.vessel .. A graceful swan, a chraracter of the show. I loved the ones where they never left the ship. It was a friend we knew even more than our own cars. The excuses that it was unsuitable for film is weak. Upgrade the sets. Generatioms at least felt right....even if the death did not of that vessel. Did not get a proper intro to the E. See it on a candy wrapper in K mart The first time at checkout. The new ship on a chocolate bar....with a white deflector dish. . Shows up quickly w o an intro on tv. It uses the Voyager sickbay....cheap, and feela dark.... maroon, black, dark blue. And tan. I think the stuffy grey winter time uniformj jacketa make it feel even more ...uncomfortable, or cold. Air......but still too hot with all those layers We see the observation lounge ... looks like the D repainted. So we got a new ugly bridge, really ugly halls, a goofy engineering set with a warp core with d crystal chamber 20.ft.in the air... because...I dont know.... we have lillys stupid window wo glass and a room w no hallway to.it. And we see pods for ejection. ...oh no we don't.....we arr shown supposedly where they are in the wall. We did get a much uglier Deflector diah which looks like a playmates toy. Ugly and stupid.
The familes abd the teddy bar are gone. The bear blew up. Families of crew are not allowed.
Then as we finally get used to this new ship, they tease blowing it up. Don't get attached..... Picard will not get anothwr ship.....(but appatently they just re open the vortex, and trabel back to 1985 b and its all good.)
See we lost the look and feel of the enterprise D meaning the tone of the show changed into a cheap horror film for.movie 2. Movie 2 would draw no matter what....but when tng fans got this, well it was ok, good to see em. Bit that Baku film wanted to.be.lighthearted andvserious at the same time....and it s mood was.offz the script weak, and that.made sure episode 4. Movie 4 would be hatd to get ppl out for.
But I'm so off topic, now. Just know that each film seemed to get worse.

My first place Enterprise was always the refit/A, but when I saw the E I saw it as a fusion of the refit/A overall shape coupled with the sleeker, more flowing design of the D. I think it's beautiful and looks great from every angle, which, in my opinion, is not true of the D. If it's not my favorite, it's a very close second.

I'd have to say that my favorite Enterprise model was the 1701-A refit, or The 1701-D, being that D was my first model kit to get me started, because I received it one year for Christmas from my Aunt & Uncle. Also due to the fact that TNG was on the air at the time, and I'd fallen in love with the series by that point... I built a 1701, 1701-A, 1701-D, Klingon Battle Cruiser from Undiscovered Country, Klingon Bird of Prey, Romulan Bird of Prey, Romulan Warbird, Feringi Marauder, and a Shuttle Craft from Star Trek V. 34 years later, I Recently built The Grissom and another Klingon Bird of Prey from "Search For Spock". I wish they made other models of ships such as the Romulan scout ship from the TNG episode "The Defector" & the episodes that they introduced other Romulan and Klingon ships throughout the different series... The 'Raptor', That was saved in some episode of "Enterprise" I think it was?... And the older Bird of Prey in "Enterprise" episode, "The Augments"? I think... Those would be some cool models... Wrong.
After TOS the movies that directly came out after it are canon.
Tng and DS9 added to the canon, they didn't try to overwrite the past which enterprise did try to do.
So no it isn't main canon, just because you believe it should be doesn't make it so.
If it conflicts with what came before then that is where the problem lies.
Therefore I am correct, tmp clearly shows what came before.
That's the issue with prequel trash, those who does it do not care what came before it.
We seen that with enterprise Romulan arc which also conflicts with the balance of terror canon.
Then there are the "early" BOP which didn't exist either or at the very least not owned by Klingons.
Klingons didn't get the BOP until they traded for them along with the cloaking device.
Not to mention that according to balance of terror no human had ever seen a Romulan and the earth/Romulan war was fought with lasers and nuclear weapons.
That was stated all in one show.
So as I said before there is no NX in the prime canon timeline and thus enterprise show is not prime canon as like the ship it counters the original series canon.
If anything the Enterprise timeline branches off into the STDis timeline which is different from the TOS timeline.

@@valor1omega first of all you need to learn what a retcon is. Star Trek continuity has always been inconsistent. The Klingons got their cloaking device from a technology exchange. The birds of prey are just ships though. There's no reason why they would need the Romulans to design ships for them. TOS shows the first time humans and Vulcans saw Romulans, but it was well after they had first interacted with each other

I know very well what a retcon is.
      That excuse doesn't work here.
As for the bop they wasn't designed for them it was part of the trade for the d7s.
In other words the bop was Romulan in design.
I stand by what I said.
The NX doesn't exist in TOS prime canon.

You got my thumbs up because you remembered the Enterprise J. I was thinking you had forgotten about it. ;)

Both the Enterprise-E and the Enterprise-A are my favorite Star Trek ships named Enterprise, so far.
Also, since the Odyssey class Enterprise-F from "Star Trek Online" has now been made canonical with its upcoming appearance in Season 3 of "Star Trek Picard", I think that you should do a follow up video, to this video, that gives us some details about the Enterprise-F ship itself.
Plus, I want to point out that the design of the Enterprise-J should be considered as canon since it did appear in an episode of "Star Trek: Enterprise" displayed on a computer screen, and one of the characters in that particular episode SPECIFICALLY states that the ship displayed on the computer screen is (definitely) the Enterprise-J, which, in turn, means that the design for the Enterprise-J is canon.

Favorite: Definitely the Constitution Class ! She's a gutsy ship that often overcomes her disabilities with a cunning Captain. I also enjoy the 1st Enterprise Starship and the Galaxy Class. The final version, fitted for combat against the Borg, rocks ! Also.

    I really like the Sovereign Class NCC-1701-E;
The Warp Nacelle/Saucer Section size ratio is more like the Constitution's than the saucer-dominated Galaxy's. However...
I still love the -D. Iconic.
My absolute favourite is always going to be (surprise) the beautiful pre-refit Constitution Class NCC-1701. No bloody A, B... well, you know.

Actually the 203 crew complement is correct for the pilot version according to the book The making of Star Trek the ship was envisioned as smaller then with the larger bridge dome and deflector dish when they finally nailed down the details for the production of the series they bumped up the size of the ship and the crew compliment to 430 and on the production version of the ship they made the bridge smaller and the deflector dish smaller to make the ship appear larger 🖖
