@ElizabethSt.Hilare This is such a neat idea💡 It would be helpful for the viewer in advance to activate the posca before using on the gelplate if there are new viewers to the gel plate and or the posco pens or both,its a great idea on a quick mention on in directions. The poscas can sometimes blob out the ink or to shake it and test before using on the gel plate on a separate piece of paper. I thank you for making this tutorial and cannot wait to try with my gel pate this process.😃🎨

I just purchased this paper and am excited about using it and trying out the Posca Pens. Beautiful print! I purchased a lot of your stencils from Joggles, gosh I love that store, but they are out of the 9x11 print. It's OK, I have another large one.
What a great idea for these awesome stencils. I love these stencils so much I accidentally ordered duplicates 😆 Posca paint pens are great but I’m guessing any paint pen would work for this technique. I can’t wait to play with my artsy stash 🤗

@@lindastarkey9368 you get used to it, tearing them up. I’m a full time artist so I cannot become attached to my work as it is all going to sell eventually. It’s a different mind set!
Thanks for this video! I tried Posca pens on my gel plate, BUT didn't wait before pulling. The pens stayed on the plate AND the paper stuck...gonna try again and wait 10 minutes.

I am just learning gel printing. I was thinking about trying acrylic paint pens. I was so happy to find your video. Thanks bunches! I have a question though. Why do this? I mean why do this rather than just do this directly to paper? Are there advantages?
Because it is an indirect printing method, versus the direct printing method of the pens. Yes, there is a difference. It has any eviscerated, wood block, looking, partial print type of look. You have to try it to completely understand.

@@ElizabethStHilaire absolutely! I have forged great relationships and nieces and nephews throughout their lives through art. I’ve taken them to art classes and retreats. I have done many art projects with friends children also. As they have grown the have said‘I remember you doing art with us.’ It is a great joy to open children’s eyes to see the world around then through art. I love the freedom they have. They are not afraid to explore!
Yes, your work is amazing!! I bought that very rice paper but I was making a project that needed paint on both sides of the paper and had a rough time getting paint on the back side of the paper without ripping it. Have you successfully painted on both sides of that paper? Any tips? Thank you!
I'm going to try this, but I already have so much trouble with my rice paper sticking to the gel plate. In the months since February, have you had any ideas on how to alleviate the sticking? Less than 10 minutes before the pull? Thanks for any tips! I need to order this stencil, so no rush!
@@ElizabethStHilaire I thought maybe so. I get into trouble every time I hesitate even for a few seconds or to roll off extra paint off my brayer. The best print I pulled last week was when I used the wrong side of my rice paper. I noticed right away and pulled it off before I even finished laying down the whole page. I need to work much faster, I guess.

Thanks so much! Yes the tin is great especially behind your plastic shell cracks. I tear my prints up for collage so blemishes don’t matter to me!

timing is tricky depending on you climate too. Hope you are using the rice paper I recommend.

Do you think the soft crayons would work, or would they shift too much with the final coat of paint?

Yes, the Rice paper pad that I recommend is durable and you can paint both sides of it. No problem.
Since it was textured on the back side, almost like flannel, it didn’t work well for me.

So you use the glossy side of the paper not the rough side??
