Perfect video! Your pacing, your voice, your language are so so clear and easy to follow. And you don't talk too much. Everything is just right. Thank you for the great video.
Excellent! Thank you for breaking down how this works (light to dark, curves and geometrics, paint opacity) I’ve gotten more adventurous with my layering.
You explain this process so well. I always have to stop and think hard about what each step is going to produce along the way. It doesn't always work out. But you make this seem so straightforward.
Circles are curvilinear/curvelinear/curvalinear is my favourite phrase from this video! You have invented a totally new word ♥ I will definitely be trying this, thank you xxx Kathryn
I have loads of gelli prints but haven't used them for anything! I know they can be used for cards and collaging. But I'd love ideas what to put on top to make them more of a finished product...framed for the wall for example.
Bonjour et merci pour votre vidéo ! J'ai acheté votre livre sur les combinaisons de pochoirs et de couleurs en superposition et c'est très motivant. Bravo et à bientôt sur RUclips !
Happy I was directed to your channel. I have been "experimenting" with gelli printing and was told you are using poscha pens so here I am. :) Looking forward to watching some videos on things we can do with the gelli plate. TFS Live Aloha 🤙
Have played once with my gel plate, but got so-so prints. Thanks for showing me what I was doing wrong.. Looking forward to playing again! Great tutorial!
This was such a great tutorial! I'd not thought of using ghost prints on the main print. So this helped me think more about the negative space. Not only did I learn a new technique, but also a new word. I'd always thought of linear as being lines, & curved as being, well, not lines lol. So I thought you were saying curvilinear sort of a a joke, but it's a real word. You guessed it, I'm not an art or geometry major lol. But it made me realize circles are lines, just not straight lines. I'll be 60 in July, bout time I learned that simple thing lol.
Gorgeous prints Elizabeth! I have all the materials but not the courage to give it a go. I need to organise my brain to work out the order of printing. I guess I have to work backwards? Not sure if I can get the rice paper sketch pad in the UK but I do have plenty of wet strength tissue that I can use .Thank you so much for this tutorial.xx
My pleasure Susan, just give yourself permission to PLAY that is how you learn and remember. I don't worry about the order of things when using translucent pigments because they all show through the layers like watercolor or stained glass. you just have to think about the order of things the using opaque pigments as they block out what's below them. Good luck!
PERFECT! I purchased the O'KEEFE set of stencils with the plan if making faux Turkish marbled papers. I just couldn't figure out the chess game if the order to layer them. Thanks so much!
Your videos are great. What kind of paper do you suggest when using the larger sized plates. I love the rice paper you use by it doesn't come very large.
I rarely use the large plates honestly. You can but the same rice paper in oversized sheets at the art supply store. It also comes in a roll. Or use multiple sheets? Some ideas.
I feel your pain. My green thumb is brown. I live in the south and I could kill kudzu. Did I mention nothing kills that? I once had a silk plant look like it was on its last leg. I feel your pain
The layering of translucent colors allows each stencil to show through the next, unless you use opaque paint. For translucent layers I don't worry so much about the order, for opaque I do use a small pattern on top, so as not to block out too much of the previous layers. Glad you enjoyed it!
This was absolutely so gorgeous...watched it several times....just unpacked a couple of orders of your stencils from Joggles....as you do new examples I buy the supplies needed. I would love to do this in reds, oranges and magenta....how would I go about arranging my cols to produce this design. Just love you so much and am learning a LOTT🥰
Beautiful and very inspiring work. It is the first time i see one of your video. I 'll follow you from now for sure. Actualy I have a gel plate but I haven't made anything yet. I'm buying stuff like different color paint, papers of all sort etc...What I dont have yet is interesting stencils such as those you 've got. Can you please give some links from where I could find some? Excuse my english, I'm french and i guess my english grammar is quite messy.
Your English is great! Thanks for taking the time to come in. The links to purchase all products are always below the video. But I can tell you that the center manufacturer will not ship to France. They will not ship to the EU because of taxes and excessive paperwork requirements. :-)
I don’t know, I don’t make card panels. When I gel print for greeting cards, I print directly on the card blanks. But it is highly absorbent, it glues down, nice and flat without much effort, so I think it would be perfect.
Lol. Awwww I’ve found my people! Unless it’s weeds, I apologise to plants when I buy them because it’s definitely survival against all odds (or me anyway). They’re just so fussy about water - not enough & “aaaaggghhh look how sad & floppy I am. Oops too late 🪦” or “gurgle gurgle stop drowning me” 🤷♀️ Never happy 🪴 (wouldn’t be surprised if the emoji turns brown!)
Perfect video! Your pacing, your voice, your language are so so clear and easy to follow. And you don't talk too much. Everything is just right. Thank you for the great video.
Thank you kindly for your compliments. I tried to be all of those things!
So easy to follow, no wating for layers to dry, very simple and beautiful. Tomorrow is Day 3 of my gelli printing career. Loved the video!
Wonderful, you will love it. The fluid acrylics are the best for fast dry and translucency
Excellent! Thank you for breaking down how this works (light to dark, curves and geometrics, paint opacity) I’ve gotten more adventurous with my layering.

Hi ,loved your video, just starting with gel printing and was wondering how you adhere the rice paper to card. Thanks
I’m making this for collage paper :)
For the initial plan for ordering the stencils, were you purposely going from small to large spaces? The results are glorious.
The layering of translucent colors allows each stencil to show through the next, unless you use opaque paint. For translucent layers I don't worry so much about the order, for opaque I do use a small pattern on top, so as not to block out too much of the previous layers. Glad you enjoyed it!
