Aside from being an incredible singer, I love Sara because she just looks like she is having so much fun when she sings. She's not trying to channel any persona, she's just having fun doing what she loves. This is definitely my favorite by her except for maybe Last Christmas.
This has become one of my all-time favorite PMJ videos. Sara isn't just singing, she is giving us a full-blown theatrical performance. She has a background in acting and musical theater and it really shows. Her clothes, her facial expressions, her dancing, and her hand gestures are all perfect.

That same Clarinet player (Jacob... Scesney? I think it says?) did some weird stuff in the background of the "Ain't No Rest For the Wicked" cover, too, including appearing with no warning from behind a couch. I'm starting to sense a pattern with him and I love it. :D
Her voice is amazing, obviously, but I also just absolutely adore her hand gestures and facial expressions. I've never heard the Justin Bieber version (I sort of live under a rock) so I was shocked when I found out this was a cover of a Bieber song. It's so good. I've listened to it probably 10 times this morning alone. I like most PMJ songs quite a bit, but this one is by far my favorite.

Back to the Roaring 20's! I absolutely love this one! Have watched this video dozens of times, never get tired of it
I heard a very drab version of this song in a supermarket the other day, sung by a toneless male voice, and it took me a while to realise that it was the original version by Bieber. This is so much better, and sung with such panache and intelligence, that it might be a completely different song. Compliments to Sara Niemietz for the performance, Scott Bradlee for the extraordinary adaptation, and to PMJ in general for its high quality, for making songs better, and for bringing all this talent to a wide audience.
When I heard the original version of this song I thought "PostmodernJukebox would do an insane cover of this". And I was indeed correct.

of everything i love about this particular pmj cover, my favourite thing is how powerful it is to hear these lyrics coming from a woman rather than a man - never knew the song before, but this version just sounds so brilliantly self-reclaiming from a female singer.
