My daughter and I make this but we do add the horseradish root, onions, garlic, and an assortment of fresh hot peppers along with what you used. I also dont use crushed red pepper but do add a Tbs of ground cayenne My family takes 1 shot glass per day in cold and flu season. Some years I also squeeze whole lemons and oranges into the jar as well. I discovered your channel about a month ago and have been binge watching. Great content, thank you!

Great, I want to do the same staff as you, with horseradish, onions, garlic, lemon, thyme and some other herbs.
What would be the best chronological order to put it all in?
First to put turmeric, ginger, horseradish, herbs, peppers, onions, garlic into the vinigear for couple of months and only after that add that lemon juice?
If I want to add honey as well, can it go right away with the vinigear or its better for the roots and herbs to "desolve" into the vinegear first and only then add the honey?
Many many thanks from europe 😉

I LOVE Fire Cider. Also, I make a spice mix from the resulting solids after dehydrating and grinding them up. When it's time to bottle the tonic, I move the dehydrator outside (because the process is too pungent) and dry the solids to create a special seasoning mix for savory dishes. I use onion and garlic, so that goes in, I try to find fresh horseradish, lots of spicy peppers and, I raid my spice rack for dribbles of herbs I want to use up, too. I have one of those gallon-size sun-tea jars I fill up with veggies- horseradish, ginger, turmeric, chilies, etc, herbs, spices & ACV. I store the result for a couple of months, strain the liquid from the solids (less any woody bits like cin. sticks) and go on to making the spice powder. A shot of the spicy elixir is my first line of defense if I wake up with a tickle in my throat, or feel a little off, luckily that's rare. You made me realize I forgot the bottle sitting in my pantry--(yet I sprinkled that spice mix on last night's salad!) I made it a year or two ago and know it's just fine to drink today. I think I'll go have some in a big glass of ice water with Stevia. Thanks! At the rate I'm going I'll use up the powder before the cider is finished.

Scoby = Symbiotic Culture of Bacteria and Yeast ☺️ but I always want to call it a Scooby!
I love fire cider. I make mine a bit differently (no cinnamon, add garlic, onion, horseradish, habaneros, slices of some kind of citrus, and then add local honey after it’s brewed). It make a wonderful salad dressing. Just add olive oil. I will also add it to some coconut aminos and sesame oil and it’s a great Asian inspired dipping sauce.
And, of course, it’s a delicious savory/spicy/slightly sweet drink. I usually just do a shot of it. Super warming on a cold day.

Have you ever tried making black garlic? I do mine in an old slow cooker on the keep warm setting. If you don't seal them up in something it will smell up your entire property for a week or two before it settles down. I found wrapping them in foil and sealing them in a vaccum bag worked best so far but next time I plan to put some of them in glass jars. I will need to put something between the jars and the crock pot so they won't break.

We haven't done it with the Horseradish because it is hard to find so i think we kind of forgot about it ... in the link she puts it in water and drinks it before food and probably more often then i do. i need to eat first because how i do it is way strong. @@martinrohac1213 Hey, I don't add them in any specific order. I just chop everything to roughly the same size. A food processor works perfect for that. Add all to a gallon jar or whatever size you use and top with apple cider vinegar. Let sit for 4 -6 weeks. Strain and take an ounce or 2 everyday or more when you're under the weather. I've never tried adding honey but I'm sure it would make it a little easier to take. Mine tastes quite brutal to be honest. I would add the honey once you're done straining it.

ACV. Fingers crossed. I am 50 today so I use clove to help with hot flashes, and I was looking up recipes but couldn't find all I wanted to add. What do you think? Kind of a play on apple cider and I'm thinking all of the sweet fruit plus citrus will add flavor and vitamins.

Thank you for another wonderful, friendly and so doable recipe. You've inspired me! I am really a novice to food storage so can you please tell me do you need to sterilise the jar (and amber ones) first? I'm assuming yes, sorry to be so naive! Do you have a way you prefer to sterilise your jars, please? Many many thank yous for your amazing videos, and for being so genuine and friendly. I've been ill recently and your brightness and love for all you do has shone through and been like a comforting hug. Sorry to be so gushy!

If someone can't have peppers (nightshade allergies suck), would mustard or cumin age well in the mix? Other than that, your recipe looks wonderful.

That looks so yummy!! I'm jealous when I watch all these yummy looking videos because I can't have Cinnabon because of my bladder. I have so many food/ingredient restrictions its crazy. I live vicariously through others instead, lol. It would be so nice to be able to consume whatever I want without worry. Maybe someday. Love your videos!!

I don’t put cinnamon in mine. Here’s a recipe that I generally follow (with my own personal touches based on taste) that you may find delicious. It’s follows the same technique as Becky but uses slightly different ingredients. www.foodiewithfamily.com/fire-cider-health-tonic-and-homeopathic-remedy/
