I just felt it was a bit lacking in the catacomb's fight, where they CLEARLY mentions AND SHOW more than once there is a stream of holy water... and her being able to manipulate water and ice, didn't even think of making it rain all over the place, instakilling every monster and vampire in the room...

I felt like she didn’t use as many elements this season. She used air power in another season but i forgot which. Also, the way she uses water and ice in this season is not as creative. I would have to rewatch to confirm, but I feel that she only turns ice into daggers and let them fly and that’s it. In season 3 there were ice disks and ice balls, etc. She’s my fav, so I’m a bit critical, but overall I think the character design is superb.

Actually, I think Saint Germain was never a hero nor a villain, he just followed his goal which he would do anything for and in the 3rd season it happened to be something that was happening at the same place where the actual heroes of the show were doing heroic stuff and in 4th season he did bad things for the same reason (he thought it will help him achieve his goal) He was never really doing good or bad things for the sake of being the hero or the villain, he was just a desparate single dude lol

    • @fenison4430
      @fenison4430 3 года назад +14

I think Saint Germaine's story arc was more like him going from being a normal dude, to a hero, to a villain, and to a hero again, with a bittersweet ending
Kind of a shame that he died, but i suppose there was nothing more in the world for him to do, he tried to fulfill his goal, and he uhh... suceeded and failed at the same time? I'm kind of unsure honestly, but i think it was interesting to see him go from a selfish good character, to a selfish killer for the sake of completing his goal, and then redeeming himself at the end.

There's enough source material for it if they wanted to try. The Curse of Darkness entry in the game series has Hector as the player character, his wife burned at the stake thanks to Isaac, who lures him to Dracula's Castle to turn him into Dracula's new body. We'd need to see Hector move on with his life and Isaac fall from grace for something like that to happen, but it's doable. The question though is whether we'd actually want to see that after the way their stories ended

@@ultimatehope549 I agree wholeheartedly. It could make for a great story for Hector, sharing a tragedy with Dracula while still being his own person, but to get there would require Isaac to lose sight of so much of what he identified in that amazing monologue of his. I'd rather not put him through the sort of events that would break him down so thoroughly. Either it would be a tragedy, or it would be sewing Deadpool's mouth shut for the finale, in other words turning him into someone entirely different than we expect at this stage

Small gripe: The Death reveal had sufficient foreshadowing for fans of the lore and game series. You see a Death statue, you know he's the secondary antagonist, you know he's showing up at some point. Anyone who knows it's the series finale should've been ready for it.
For people getting into it because of the anime itself, yeah, fine, point taken, but I don't mind writers prioritising the core audience their series is adapted from.

I kinda feel maybe there could've been another season, like this whole season could've focused more on Trevor and Sypha's relationship and adventures, maybe at one point trying to take a break from one another only to realise towards the end of the season how much they need each other and are willing to make permanent changes to themselves in order for it to work. That is a great lesson for any couple in a relationship, to learn that sometimes they must be willing to go with some changes in order to make things work. Bit of a missed opportunity here. I would have also liked to see Alucard slowly dive into his Vampire nature, almost like diving into madness, only to realise towards the end, he's turning out just like his father, so he decides to sober up and remind himself that he is his mother's son as well. Again missed opportunity people could have related too. I would have also liked to see Camilla's backstory, like maybe a few cut scenes of her past, how she rose up or what was the final result that drove her into becoming who she was in the end. I feel this season could've ended with these characters coming to terms, then the next season could've focused on the final battle. But that's just my personal thoughts. Then again it's a little concerning to see the pattern of what's happening with anime series's, like Promised Neverland. First season great, second season: Let's reach the finish line. Why are these animators rushing to finish the story? In my opinion, if you wanna make great memorable characters and build up the suspense, keep the story going as long as possible. I feel both these animes have fallen victim to time rush, which every artist knows you must NEVER rush art.

    • @TheSleyar

Cloaking the main character (of that portion) entirely in blue, from his clothes to the background. Carmila with her red dress, blade just the metric shit ton of blood everywhere. And the entire scene basically having a blue v red vibe throughout which was very aesthetic to watch. Even the portion of issac parting the blood as he walks up the “Stairway to heaven” as I’m calling it parting the blood and then being all like I’m at peace let’s make shit now after the battle.

  • @MrHeorhe

My sister and I binged it yesterday. The scenes with camilla fighting were epic in idea, but the animation was wonky and looked rushed. Her fight scene against the hordes of night creatures got to the point where the animators were flashing a red line (her sword) over the screen and just transitioning from a whole night creature to a night creature that's been chopped into peices. There was enough blood to overflow her war chamber, but no bodies left lying around. At the start of the fight she is in a tight dress with long sleeves, by the end of it she is in a long flowy dress with no sleeves. And she didnt use any vampire powers until the very end.
It was a beautiful story moment of a woman who wants it all to spite the men who wanted her, overreaching and losing it all.
But the animation got so wonky and missed the mark so hard my sister and I just laughed at how cheaply it was done in a lot of parts. Almost felt like the camilla story was supposed to be in s5 after she had enough time to actually scheme as they say in the show but do to the writer getting cancelled they shoved it all into s4.

For example, imagine if there was simply one scene where Barney finally exploded at someone and we started to see a glimpse of the power he actually held, or imagine if Trevor had gotten the chance to go more in-depth when describing death and we got one line where he described " some random shithead from Britain" that turned himself into death. Just something so that the final reveal didn't feel like it was coming entirely out of left field.

My favorite part of the Isaac vs Carmilla fight is that Isaac doas not just send demons until Carmilla dies. He actually gets in on the stabing. Keep in mind Isaac killed Godbrand who was a vampire general. My boy can hold his own ageinst the strongest vampires.

I’m glad the show ended on a great note despite a few shortcomings. Honestly, I really did enjoyed Castlevania.
