Fun fact, the town of Gresit that most of the action takes place does not actually exist, or to be more exact, it dosen't have that name. I think it's supposed to be the town of Resita? I think, by the architecture and location. I say this because gresit, in romanian, means wrong. I don't know how it got from Resita to Gresit but it's kinda funny. But niiiiiiiiiiiiiice attention to detail in this show! They really made Targoviste look similar!
yeah... i don't get it either...in that region of romania there are more catholic people then orthodox, but I think it fits better with the gothic aesthetic of the show that EVERYONE is catholic. I mean i'm seeking realism in a show with ninja priests
Castlevania's universe works slightly differently to our own. The Church is much more powerful (and is a keeper of secret magic). I'm fairly certain that schisms never rock the church like they do in our timeline and the intrusion of cosmic forces alter the political and social geography slightly. If it makes you feel any better, the source material is much much worse. The original Castlevania III (which this series is based off) refers to Wallachia as a 'village' and has 18th century pirates running around in the 1400s.

The best part of the Castlevania show: NO SPARKLING VAMPIRES!! Also, despite not going in depth about the romance between Dracula and his wife, the first episode was still a better love story than Twilight.
It might just be me but I kinda feel like you should come up with your own nomenclature now that his videos are kind of known for this title set up. Your samurai jack video wasn't called "why you should watch" and in his videos he places so much emphasis on that title and really seems to like dragging it out and making it his real thesis, I'm just being honest here but this isn't really a "why you should watch", it's a "if you like castlevania; should you watch it?" it's just doesn't really strike me as good form so to speak to use the super eyepatch set up now that those are continuing to get more popular, and it's something he's picking up steam with.
It is sooooooo good, thought it was going to be really bad, but it's super cool and good watched it all in the middle of the night and it was real good.

Definitely a great show with plenty of room for improvement. Actually, a lot of room for improvement. But I'm taking is more as a silver-lining. With all the improvement that can be done and yet the show we got is as great as it is, it really sets the stage for the potential of the following season(s). If done right, Netflix can churn out something truly remarkable and as an avid fan of the series, that's certainly something to look forward to.

Pure entertainment 9/10 but over all I will give it 7 /10 for the fact a few issues I take especially one of the big issue from the show from knowing a lot of history from Medieval and Ancient times. When making friction in a historical setting they need to take into consideration some facts. When it comes to the Roman Catholic & Orthodoxy Churches they were not anti-Science especially when reading up who Titus Flavius Clemens, Thomas Aquinas, Copernicus, and others were. To summarize it: "All these very modern-sounding (even Darwinian) ideas were accepted by Medieval scholars without the slightest problem and the Church had no difficulty with them either - indeed, William of Conches, like all other Medieval scientists - was a churchman." -Tim O'Neill By the way Tim O'Neill is a agnostic leaning atheist that loves history.
