This is undoubtedly one of the best guitar lessons out there. Sam‘s boogie is anything but easy. You broke it down very well and you made it swing, too. Thank you.
I am with you on Magic Sam, First time I heard it I was just floored on how he was able to get those sounds out of that borrowed Les Paul, Soooooooooo good.
Beautiful Mark - yeah breathtaking guitar playing on that old clip! I must have played it over & over a 100 times when I first got the DVD set! And that killer tone from Earl Hooker’s borrowed cheap Les Paul copy! Too cool.
My name is also Mark, known in military as Stormin' Norman. WWII Occupational Forces Medal, ARCOMM for criminal investigations (one of two CID agents on Jump Status) while in 82d ABN., VA registry of Exposed to Ionizing Radiation. 100% War-time Service-Connected Disabled and Unemployable Veteran with Titanium shoulders, bad carpel tunnel, plastic eye lenses, and deaf in Left ear. I am trying to learn to play guitar, perhaps after second carpel tunnel surgery, I'll be able to hold a pick for longer than five minutes.
That picture of Keef & Mick looks really great & so does that L.P. Custom. All u need is a little more bounce & more feeling & I really believe that you could play something really close to it. Great job man.
The man is showing how to play the riff. You want him to track down a POS old Univox knockoff Les Paul so he can get it right? Stupidist shit I heard all week.
Hi, if I'm not mistaken the song is typically called Lookin' Good and the video footage is from an AFB festival somewhere in Europe. I really like how you nailed the guitar sound!
Hope you're not mad @ the late Magic Sam for not "playing authentic". Earl Hooker's Les Paul copy just sounded "off"... If only Sam could have had the "real deal". I guess we'll never know how awesome it could have been!
hey Mark ...you might go and have another listen ? and just listen a bit... dont worry about you hands and guitar (and then look) Sam doesn't move his A barre index(correct your left hand).. or you will never be able to play it) there is quite a lot more going on...its very percussive (not bent)...your guitar sound is very good (tone).....its just not right as far as pitch (your d to c sound is sloppy and out (that hand again)....maybe check out Kyle J's efforts on youtube ? (he is the closest Ive found) anyway...I hope you take that as constructive criticism ? its a crazy happening thingo (as you know).. give some more time..(please forgive me if I sound pedantic) we are all trying to improve etc ...take care

Nice Mark! Agreed, the fullest most intense groove I’ve ever heard.
Ah man so dope. That performance is a mind blower
Wooonderfull!
Thats it, Easy makes the Groove!!!
Great lesson!!!
Outstanding!
Thank you so much, Mark! A killer riff and killa lesson!!!
Performed on a 1969 Univox with Maxon Magnaflux humbuckers. The necks a wonderful to play, and the Magnaflux hbumvuckers are a very underrated pickup.
Thank you so much
This is excellent. Thanks for posting.
I love this and was excited to use your lesson but who wants to have to tune their guitar down a half step every time for it
Tuned down a half step..
Magic Sam is one of my favorite blues artists. “Easy Baby” was first Magic Sam song I learned.
Love it! Thanks, Mark!
Rock on and on and on...
Dang! The keys to the kingdom! Thanks
Aaaaand, SUBSCRIBED! Nice job!
Love your lessons brother easy to follow and greatly constructed
@Guitars For Vets I had no clue you folks existed! Hit me back someway okay?

I miss seeing you at Norms Mark 👍🏼

Such a cool riff Thank You 🙏
The late,great magic Sam
Dope very nice
Damn that's some difficult fingerpicking
Nice one
Magic Marks picking blues. AWESOME.
It's a cool lick! Question: how are you doing the right hand with the fill in lick?
Nice playing. Lot harder than it sounds!
Playing a danceable guitar Groove like this all by yourself is Nervana.

🤣😎👍💕
Great tone man! Just like Magic Sam’s version in 69
Guitar tuning: ?
standard
Tune down half a step
did I miss the bit about your guitar being tuned down half a step?
Thanks Mark, great breakdown. I am looking to mix it in to the 'boogie disease' from Doctor Ross! Let's get t0 it ;) ps are you in a regular tuning?
Way to play authentic bruh!
Man you nailed the tone too.
Originally played on a Univox Les Paul Copy, not quite authentic...
Thank you!
For the clip Magic Sam borrowed Earl Hooker’s guitar.
Hah!!!
The man is showing how to play the riff. You want him to track down a POS old Univox knockoff Les Paul so he can get it right? Stupidist shit I heard all week.
That amp and input though
standard tuning word help learners! (like Sam)
Do that d lick he does on the earl hooker guitar that’s sick after the break from the a chord
Great song. Great cause. Great playing. If only it was authentic...
Lookin Good not feelin good
Hi, if I'm not mistaken the song is typically called Lookin' Good and the video footage is from an AFB festival somewhere in Europe. I really like how you nailed the guitar sound!
Hello.that's openAtuning?
No, he is in standard but is tuned down a little lower than normal.
@@LesLeeJr
Thanks!
Tuned down a half step
Great lesson but I wish you had turned to standard rather than Eb, Mark 😉
What’s your opinion on Orville guitars?
Hardest riff ever? Agnesi: hold my darn beer!
Hope you're not mad @ the late Magic Sam for not "playing authentic". Earl Hooker's Les Paul copy just sounded "off"... If only Sam could have had the "real deal". I guess we'll never know how awesome it could have been!
He plays it wrong, that good not everybody should be able to get it. Hope he does good with Gibson.
Hound dog taylor scam
Can't afford a Lesly

correction Kyler J
Dude respect to you, difficult thing to do,but why have Keith Richards behind you and not Magic Sam?he's the innovator,no disrespect meant.
Would be good if it wasn't wrong.
Nerd version
You’re playing wrong.
Anyway, Sam's Les Paul sounds amazing.
