If starting out for the first time the easiest class to start with is the Magician imo. If you have a desire to play a Tank the SK is probably the easiest to start out with. First time melee dps I would advise the berserker or the beast lord. First time healer Druid or Cleric. Other classes do things much better but have more difficult learning curves or gear involved. Ex- Monk is maybe a better melee dps to start with but you are almost guaranteed to be asked to be the puller and having zone knowledge and understanding FD pulling might be asking a lot from a beginner. If starting fresh on a TLP server, Warriors and Rogues might be the most difficult classes to start with since gear in the original game was pretty atrocious. Bards are the most difficult class overall to play, but melody commands can make them a bit easier for those that are scared to try them out. You will be helping the group a decent amount but you will have to practice a lot to really unlock the classes full power. Wizards are a pretty rare choice to start with, and the biggest thing people forget about them imo is that they are the only port to Plane of Hate and Plane of Sky.
Paladin damage is abysmal, even with 2handers. Also, Paladins don't have to be a-holes. My Paladins are humble and open minded, for the most part. Sure, you could be a douche like Lancelot (who sleeps with his best friend's wife?!?) but I think the haughty, sanctified portrayal is tired and rote. All three of my Paladins are Tunare worshippers (2 High Elves, one Half Elf) and after seeing how existential threats (like Overlord Mata Muram, the revenge of Kerafyrm, the war of Two Gods (Solusek and Mayong Mistmoore), the Triune God, etc) exploit differences and conflict between people, they're more than willing to unite to tackle a greater threat. Or something.
I'm sure I can make a video that's like 3 hours long trying to describe everything I know in every class but that would be ridiculous so I just tried to break things down as short as possible.
@FezzelwhigsForum I think individual class videos would be best, you could then make a YT short with an intro for each class as well, that would work with the algorithms to help your channel grow as well.
Bard charm is fantastic. Use a wind instrument while charming to get the most reliability.
