Changing recipes is not supposed to affect your chance to skill-up. You should typically stick with whatever recipe is cheapest or most convenient to get you skill-ups. However, if you plan on getting to 350 skill you may want to do each recipe that you can one time while you have the materials ready. Although personally I would wait to deal with that after hitting 300 to make sure that it is a recipe that actually gives credit towards 350 and also isn't simply a scribed recipe.

I have been playing everquest on and off since 1999.. Started on the Innorruk Server.

Also, for spell macros to avoid having to press buttons, make your last line /keypress 3 (or whatever the macro line is cause I've been gone years) and then your 3 is the same macro but the last line will be /keypress 2 to go back to the original macro, but make sure your first lines are a pause otherwise it'll get all jacked up trying to cast while on GCD

You quested more in this video than i did in my entire 13 year journey on EQ (except for doing the epic weapon quests) hahaha. This brings me so much joy and definitely considering hopping back into Norrath! And I lied, I guess I did a ton of quests, but generally only for keys/zone entries and definitely not so early in the game!

Yes many of the items have multiple amounts based on quality of ingredients i.e. snake eggs make 1 clump of dough where as dragon eggs make 28 clumps of dough, i didn't find any specific things that you need a dragon egg specifically for that you would need to save them for and they can be foraged so not hard to get. best tip for these: Go to abysmal sea and do the FREE skill up quests for most skills, that take you to skill 54 and at the end it teaches you how to craft the taelosian craft items like mountain wheat, the ore, the gems etc and it gets you ready to start the trophy quests and most of the "side items like grilling sauce the trivial is 54 so if you do the freebie quest you get to 54 so you can make the veg oil then the grilling sauce. you can make a 4 at a time too 4 vegies + 4 water = 4 vegie oil so faster to make but the trivial is 104. Another good idea is have a mule for each craft type (baking, poison, smithing etc) so when you make the trophy, send all the random drop parts to a baking mule to hold all your drop extras so you don't have to farm next time just parcel the parts to whoever is making the trophy this time.

I want to create a cleric main to come play with you guys but I don't know where you guys would benefit from one more, here on FV or over on Teek... I just got restarted after a long break and I have a few toons on Bristlebane (boy have things changed!) but I'm willing to dedicate myself to a truly healing experience if you tell where I would be most needed!

This is why I stopped playing. I got to lvl 80 and started having a hard time only boxing 2 mages. I died a lot and it was hard to find a group. Back in 2005 I play EverQuest everyday, for like 5 years and I started when I was 12. Crazy to see how EverQuest is still going. But I can say, I ordered a 43inch monitor so I can box 4 chr, hopefully it comes in Friday because I really been wanting to get back into EverQuest. I’ve been watching so many videos on how to box on the same computer. I’m very excited

Once I get a good fisherman with higher level to enter the planes of power I get the Fisherman's companion, which summons an unbreakable rod with a 3% fishing skill boost and the rod summons ale to bring up alcohol tolerance free. Then I save all the trade skill items for just making 1 item of each recipe to max out the skill over 200.

Nice tip for anyone starting fishing, especially after doing the quests in the Hive.

First thing you do is buy the Trade skill Depot. The rest is following established guides online.

I remember playing Everquest back in the day when it first came out in the early 2k I had left playing Ultima Online for it, EV is around the time when graphics started evolving and then shortly after WOW came out in which I moved over to it.

there are distracting abilities that work like lull and other such spell...just might not be as effective...the monk has them also iirc so fd isn't the only way to split pulls...best maybe but the only way

Monsters & Memories is slated to go into early release in the first quarter of 2026. This game is basically EQ1 with all of the quality of life improvements you’d expect from today’s games. And the lead dev is extremely personable and talks to the players during each testing period on Discord.

I have a buddy key for Pantheon: Rise of the Fallen if anyone is interested. It’s going into pre-alpha soon for anyone with a game key. Pantheon is another EQ-like MMORPG.
